As a surgical technician, I can confirm that this is the nice ways to see patients wake up. The other way is fighting. Very common for Veterans/Servicemembers with PTSD to wake up fighting. That is not fun having to wrestle a 220 lb man spitting and swinging on a small table. But, one time some dude asked the doctor how his vagina surgery was. Definitely did not have a vagina.

I had my wisdom teeth removed in about 2000. I arranged for a good friend to be my ride to and from, because they were giving me drugs. I was very, VERY high afterward but I somehow convinced the dentist to give me one of my teeth back in little dime-bag looking ziplock. (This is where my good friend's recounting comes in- I learned this stuff after the fact.) According to him I was fascinated with it; blathering on about it and examining it all the way to the elevator, telling him how the dentist wasn't really allowed to do that, and yadda. As we got on the elevator, apparently I saw a small piece of one of my gums still attached to the tooth. I turned to him and said "DUDE. There's still meat on this tooth! And not meat that I ATE, either." My pal says he backed across the elevator and pretended not to know me. There was a very old woman in there who was visibly horrified. I should say that at that time I was a 475lb tattooed man with a shaved head.
when i was a kid, we could watch a show called candid camera. they would catch people unawares at funny moments. it was quite fun. this show is kind of similar but on steroids. i'm so spoiled now. this is just so very fun.
I had a procedure done and they didn't "knock me out" all the way and apparently I woke up during and came up swinging.. they said I hit a technician and ripped out the IV ..there was blood everywhere and it was in a completely different location from before I was put under.. lol
this also happens to me every time ive been put under. its clearly in my medical notes for the reversal to be given to me from behind. large male staff only.
