After spending more time with my U92 thruster kit, there is not much I would change for the price. The extra plastic tubing on the thruster cables seem unnecessary. They are quiet and powerful. I really love the speed hold setting on the remote. It's perfect for trolling in a kayak as you can easily adjust the speed with the remote by like 0.2MPH +/- increments per click. For fine steering adjustments I used the existing kayak rudder as this allowed me to keep my hands free for fishing. Yet in high winds I would need to bump the controller left or right to correct my course. This was based on a 12v 100ah LiFePo4 battery setup in a 10' kayak. I did also notice interference with my fish finder sonar any time the thrusters are on. I either need to put a filter on the power wires or run the sonar off a different battery. Either way you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal on DIY kayak motors if you like to mess with the same sort of things I do.
Do you have the single thruster kit or the double I have the single and the speed controller kept overheating under normal usage I live here in Texas and put it on a paddle book that I got registered in legal and kept running into the speed controller overheating nonstop all day Using the same 12 V battery set up as you indicated
@@merlin195020 the double thruster 12-24v kit. Just got back from another trip with mine actually. No cutting out but I also don't run at full speed for more than like 10-15min at a time. Most of the time it's like 30% speed trolling. You might want to consider upgrading to some water cooled ESCs.
The outer layer of the thruster cable is very soft. You can actually pinch it out with your finger nails. I did not put mine back after discovering the convolute never really got dried inside even though it was kept near a dehumidifier! Discovered that while replacing thrusters.
A tapered exhaust cowl and stator blades would greatly increase forward thrust and efficiency with the only real cost being substantial reverse thrust performance.
One motor is rotating in the wrong direction. The limited instructions are not clear on how to do this. Perhaps I just need to reset the remote to factory settings?
Mine just arrived today. So far the quality looks great. Nice silicone wires of heavy gauge. Heat shrink is good as well. The control / ESC box is a little crowded and I wonder how well the ESCs will stay cool. Hope to test this soon on my kayak! I just need to come up with a mounting solution.
I'm wondering if these could be affixed to a type of motor mount to drop in the rear of a large fishing kayak. I have a PA 17 72lbs of thrust would be nice.
Interesting idea. I was thinking this setup would be a good modification to my old SportsPal 15 foot aluminum canoe instead of a regular trolling motor. I'm not sure 40lbs of thrust would be sufficient without also using the paddles or oars.
@@underwaterthruster Hello I'm unsure on your conversion numbers here. I know every application on a kayak or canoe would be different as all are different weights and resistance in water. So you only recommend this up to 200kg or roughly 440 lbs of weight?
@@surfdogvacationrentals5207 We recommend to use it under 0-200Kg weight, and don't exceed 300Kg maximum, because too heavy will affect the propulsion speed.
These worked great on a 10' kayak with a 12v battery. I expect you would be quite happy on a 14' canoe. The brushless motor efficiency is a notable improvement over classic brushed trolling motors.
Enough. If you are worried that it is not enough, you can try our AQ1020 (48V) with two thrusters with a total thrust of 48Kg, which can push 800Kg. www.underwaterthruster.com/products/apisqueen-aq1020-12-50v-all-metal-underwater-thruster-10-20kg-thrust

Hi, I'm waiting for the shipment of the 12v 300Kv two pusher sets I bought. I will use only one person on the inflatable canoe. The canoe is 20 kilos and I am 90 kilos. What kind of battery should I use for this system to take me 4 hours at medium speed. Can you write the battery and its specs?
12V lithium battery, battery continuous operating current greater than or equal to 100A. If you do not use it under continuous maximum throttle and use it for 4 hours, it is recommended to buy a 200AH/300AH battery.
I have been using mines for the last month... never get tired of using them... the quality is really good!
Tested on a Hobie Compass Mirage (12ft)
thank you

Would these be powerful enough to use on Jon boat. This would be cool.
Ant to see how fast it pushes the board, I’m trying to find underwater thrusters that can make my 13’ Hobie Pro Angler kayak go 5-8mph 24v system
How well would these work in a river where you may face rocks??
Wouldn't having them built into the base have less drag and such push turbine effect?

Yes, it's perfectly fine, you can mount the thrusters on the bracket.
How much are they to buy? Amazon?
Wich type of battery should be used for your Pisqueen 24 v kit ? Should I look for any amperage ?

so what speed is it going to give me to kayak and how big raft for a battery do I have to tow behind?

If you don't think it's enough, you can consider our AQ1020, 2 AQ1020's have 48*2=76lbs of thrust.
