Thanks for showing some of the maintenance as you went along. You did a great amount of work and not to much so we got bored with just watching you do the maintenance. Good balance!
+Jim Braun thanks Jim!
Wow! you have a great view of a lake.
+darkduskdragon yeah, it is not bad :)
Such a BRILLIANT video Brad :-) I LOVE seeing all of your magnificent plants, and wow the size of the pitchers on your S. leucophylla is amazing :-) Thanks for sharing and sending you much love and happy growing from Ireland for a fab weekend XXXX
+heartfullofhappiness biggest leucophylla pitchers yet! :)
Thank you for sarracenia care tips. Very helpful for me cause we will have our first winter together.
+Lumka cool, good luck!
the unknown fly trap is Red Saw Tooth!!!
what a lovely place to live, next to the lake in bc! I love all ur red venous fly trap. I never had luck with them they just die after a few months. last year I tried to give it winter rest by putting it in my fridge and it died, too! I like ur c.walkeriana, hopefully will see some blooms next year!
+MaryG Orchids fly traps can be tricky, I hope I can get the walkeriana to bloom to
Like the cattleya walkeriana Hope it blooms :)
+Andrew Fan me to!
The "black mold" that you mentioned on your S. Oreo x Flava is probably not mold. you are right about the correlation with the amount of nectar. when the nectar drips down the pitcher and the sunlight hits it the spot under the nectar dies, leaving brown spots. this usually only happens on the lid but since it doesn't get rain, it makes sense that it would happen all along the pitcher.
+Robby Cuff makes sence, thanks for the info
I know this was 2 ears ago, but to answer your question about the fine bristled Venus Flytrap that you found could either be a FTS Crimson Sawtooth Venus Flytrap, or a Bohemian Garnet Venus Fly Trap.. I couldn't tell the difference since both could look the same, but i do have three of those FTS Crimson Sawtooths in each pots in my collection right now lol
i was a disappointed in my sarcenias. until September they are amazing now. huge pitchers like yours (0;
+Bret Furgason cool, Im looking forward to the extended growing season in the greenhouse
For that red flytrap you wanted to id. It could be a bristletooth with red coloration, I'm not sure, where did you get those fly traps from?
+Michael Guardian got them from a company that was going out of business here in Canada
Nice setup! Do you have any trouble with the deck getting too much moisture and getting moldy?
+Yani Singer not so far but I may bleach it if it does
I didn't know a lake lived by you ... We've had many planes as of late scooping up water for fires.😁
+Debra Lounder this lake is to small for that but is nice to look at anyways
Nice! We are already experiencing freezing, -2c nights :|
+Zeiqq yikes! where are you located?
+Brads Greenhouse up north, in Finland :)
I have a serricenia farhamii does that need to go dormante? All replies appreciated, thanks!
+toptech GAMER all sars do to some point
Hey Brad! you got any tips to increase your chances of having your Venus Flytrap flower?
+rezoult lots of summer sun, they will flower
Do u have any venus fly traps for sale?Or seeds
I would like you to show how to raise Heliamphora
I grow my VFTs (Dionaea) inside and I would rather feed mine dehydrated meal worms or blood worms. Most meal worms I have found are for chickens or birds and seem to have extra nutrients added. Where do you people get your meal worms, or blood worms? Are there special meal worms or blood worms, or will any dehydrated meal worms do?
Why do you cut the pitchers you should cut them at the brown bits only and wait for it to good more brown. so it gives it time to use the goodness up. am I right?
+Daniel Smith Im sure you could, ive always just trimmed the summer pitchers when they stat to brown this time of year
Ok thank you! It would be interesting if you did a video on 2 of the same plant in the same place cut one right down and cut the other as it goes brown and see what does better when your plants come back in the springtime. There's a idea for ya... ty
you can think of venus fly traps as perennial, as the days get shorter and cooler there going to die back to the bulb and want to go to sleep for the winter
boss
That's the jagged tooth trap......
these kinda greenhouses is Always a waste of money..
I use mine in the house.. dry air.
