I don’t like the fact that cop said “your gonna die here tonight” while the guy is armed & with them kids. That could’ve drove dude over the edge & killed them kids & then himself in spite of the mom. That cop should NEVER say anything like that especially in such a sensitive intense situation.
It is not the police officers who put those kids lives in danger. They are the ones who came and saved them. Police officers are heroes, but they are also human and make mistakes.

I was scared of cops because they escalated a situation over my dogs in my yard who never caused a problem for anyone. I walked over to the edge of the yard to speak to animal control for few minutes until I realized I had left something on the stove. I told him what I was doing and told me not to walk away. (Right let’s just watch my house burn down while we speak out here.) He followed through with his threats of bringing an officer to my house. Not just one but several came. One banging on my door with a Bataan made me feel threatened so I barricaded myself and called hubby. Hubby came home to speak to them, they told him to get me to come out because they were about to bring me out by my hair.
That older officer shouldn't have been leading communications. Dude was escalating the situation, things very well could have taken an even worse turn for those children inside because of it.
Right! I was like what in the world is that officer thinking getting him riled up like that. No patience and consideration that the children were still inside with him armed and unhinged!
Well the Dad does have a valid point because the kids are in line of gunfire, much safer to stand down and find another way to get the children safe 🤷♂️

This is what Canada gives ppl, I see so many horrible cases and I'm still waiting for a case that compares in Canada like I used as an example to get a prison sentence anywheres close to what the states gives.
