@@SirBiscut2470 no it's military equipment. You might be able to argue that the pilot post landing is no longer a part of combat but without a surrender and exiting of the plane it would be legal from my understanding of international law

It was a game on Megadrive "F-15 desert eagle II" or something close. So realism is not really there. But I managed to come back home with one wing missing, the opposite engine on fire and the associated tail wing missing. I was amazed, and I can't believe it. But maybe it was lore accurate. "A mere scratch" the F-15 said to its mechanic. Probably.
Fun fact: An F15 collided with another jet during a training mission which took off it's right wing The commander told the pilot to reject as the F15 was spinning violently. However, the pilot turns on the afterburner and regains control of the jet and managed to land on the runway Also the pilot didn't know he lost a wing until he landed
F-15s are literally rockets with wings. Seriously- they produce so much thrust, it offsets not only the drag, but the weight, so wings are closer to a suggestion to them. So it's no wonder an F-15 could land with only 1 wing, both in-game and irl.
@@SoloRenegade seems as if both the F-104 and F-16 both had the name lawn dart but the F-104 was more well known for the lawn dart name. Heck in Germany it was a joke you want your own F-104 buy a plot of land and sooner or later a F-104 would end up there

f-15 lore time. There has been a real life occurance of the f-15 losing a wing (strike eagle) and successfully landing. The reason for this is the impressive TWR of the 15 @ 1.17/1. Because its twr is over 1 it is able to brute force its way through atmo in a controllable manner provided it has enough control surfaces to stabilize. A scarier thought is the fact the the 22 has a twr of 1.25 making it even more capable than a 15 in the same situation
