This is not to justify Hoshino's actions, but having that all that guilt at a young age is just too much to bear. I know that shit would eat me up even as an adult. Can't wait for the battle of the two strongest one-woman armies of Kivotos. This was foreshadowed for too long.
Oh no that's totally okay, I honestly think it's pretty understandable... she's still just a kid, and thinking that her actions led to someone's death is... unthinkable even as an adult. It's devastating to see someone refuse to pull their head from the sand, but when the sand seems so much better than confronting her past... it's very understandable! GOD I'M SO HYPED FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER, I WANT THIS NEXT MONTH TO BE HERE ALREADY!
The fact that Hoshino has essentially already fought an army, their special forces, miss eyepatch and the abydos task force multiple times prior to this and still looks like there hasn't been a scratch on her when she ran into Hina is insane
I’m really surprised at the reveals and situation surrounding Yume’s death, I was expecting something like a complex plot to kill her, or a big reveal about her fighting and losing, something like that, but so far it seems so simple, and all the more painful She just ran to the desert to fulfill her responsibility, got lost and died of dehydration… It’s incredibly more painful, more tragic, almost too much… And it informs Hoshino’s decisions and guilt a lot better like this, the guilt and pain must be completely unbearable, and they’ve been cooking and consuming her for years, all of her actions make so much more sense this way, which I like, even if the story makes me cry because every time we see her I love Yume so much :(
I didn't remember if UD's ability was revealed here or later, but it was here so I can explain a little just how broken his power is. His "Forced Intervention" means that as long as an event is "plausible" at the current time he can "force" it to happen: this is why the Highlander students at the beginning "coincidentally" found the old contracts and the plumbing at Schale "mysteriously" failed and exploded; but what makes this power OP is that the forced event doesn't need to be "possible", just "plausible", which is why Suou could go all the way back to the Train Cannon, climb to the control panel, and activate it DESPITE the fact that just earlier Hoshino had knocked her out: is was not "possible" thah Suou had woken up that fast from the knock out, gotten up and walked off into the sunset without any of the people present + Arona and Plana not noticing at all, but it was "plausible" that everyone just got so distracted by their convo that Suou could slip out after miraculously shaking off her knock out, so UD was able to "force" that outcome.
Suou is very similar to Hoshino I've realised, she uses a shotgun and has a pistol, has heterochromia and a ex(?) skill where she shoots while walking forward like hoshino. Idk, just noticed that ig

i don't get a few things even though i your most of your lore video Yumie but why does hina and hoshino have rivalry it seems very one sided. two i really don't like what Hoshino is doing i understand her trauma of losing someone but is she being manipulated by Dweller?
For Hina, she knew about Hoshino when Hina was part of the Gehenna secret police. She got info on the strongest people in Kivotos. When she discovered that even though Hoshino lost Yume, she still stayed in Abydos. Hina shared that if she was in Hoshinos shoes she'd breakdown and leave. Meanwhile, Hoshino only knows Hina as the Prefect Head. She does know Hina is strong, but I think a part of her is curious if Hina can provide her with a decent fight. However, Hoshino is too focused on taking care of her kohai than to look for a fight.
