Fish face into the current. This if you pull your baits into with the current the fish will see them easier and the baits will be out in front of the fish instead of coming from behind the fish. Now you know the rest of the story. And if there is no water flow (Gate at the Dam are not open and allowing water to flow through) then the winds will create a smaller current in the lake through friction between the water and the winds. Higher winds cause more current in the lake. And the current will pull plankton and baitfish from the deeper water up into the shallower areas where the waves break on the land. If you get winds out of the South all day long then try fishing the Northern areas of the lake where the winds have blown on the food or little phytoplankton. The food chain will follow the winds if they are prolonged and consistent. I noticed that you have a Humminbird unit and are using the Lakemaster Map of KY Lake. Nice setup with the cover over the boat. Keep up the good work Russ.

Why are they using BnM poles when it’s a Jenko sponsored fisherman. Doesn’t Jenko make crappie piles for pulling crank baits?

@ 17.43 you can see the name on the big poles in the water "Blade". I'm not familiar with those myself and wish that they had said more about the equipment on the boat. I too wish I knew the brand name of the cover on the boat. I use an umbrella myself but would love a bigger Bikini Cover Top someday. The type I'm more familiar with is the kind that is used in shallow water to hold the boat steady in wind and current. It's a Mercury Motor on the boat, Humminbird Depth Finder and Lakemaster Map. They are using BnM poles and 10 lb mono fishing line. The diameter of the line will determine how deep the crankbaits go. Thinner diameter fishing line has less friction with the water and will cut through the water better and allow the crankbaits to go deeper.
