this is their best april fools joke yet. They legit put a lot of work into this. Hell this is a cool tech demo if anything - it shows the game has support for virtually infinite dimensions. Literal paintings can be remade inside the game thanks to the way maps work. Thanks to it's easy to handle API modding the game or hell, even with commands people can do virtually anything. If this isn't art or the Pinnacle of gaming itself in terms of creativity and infinite possibilities, literally, I truly don't know what is.

I am planning on making a skyblock style server using it. Every player gets 10 dirt, a sapling and a water bucket. Spawns will be tuned so wither skeletons can spawn. With fishing being nerfed it places a pretty huge bounty on the water buckets.

I did your survival idea. I spent 90 minutes preparing, was able to collect almost a full stack of obsidian, used cheats to give myself the special book shelves, and now I have names for each of the dimensions I have explored... until I went to the dimension with about an infinite amount of entities, and my computer nearly exploded.

This is some kind of SCP shit. Seriously, I'm heavily reminded of all those dimension-travelling skips, like the Red Sea Artifact or that guy who'd travel dimensions at random or the girl who could go to alternate timelines based on info she was given. Especially with the sense of isolation. There's an overall dreamy or sometimes nightmarish feel to them as well, and I also get a vibe of early Minecraft(1.8 and earlier, when the world was mildly empty). Holy hell do I ever wish my account still worked so I could play this. I'd love to make some cool builds in these.
Now, a little cleanup, a little less crazy, keep the secret dimensions, change the method of doing it from "plain nether portal" to "nether portal with item frames in the corners" and use said item frames to dial the portal, and we're in business.

Dump was a randomised dimension for me, I'm unsure what it's supposed to be.
This is a really cool thing I wish they bring it back with the ability to let the players choose the settings kinda like in the old versions where you could mess around with the world settings.

This is absolutely testing for future Minecraft updates. They came out with super secret settings that changed the filter on the game and we all though they were just some silly additions, but became the filters that you see through while spectating a mob. That zones one is hella suspicious, maybe a biome that gives a status effect? The red blue and green at the end were probably testing for the nether as soul sand valleys have a different hue in the air. Plus those colors make up all colors if you tweak em.
The Okami Project Jorge Luis Borges is a master of storytelling and The Library of Babel is one of my favorite short stories ever. In the same vein is The Tower of Babylon by Ted Chiang, who also wrote The Story of Your Life (the inspiration for the movie, Arrival).
This is far and away the coolest April Fool’s joke Mojang has ever done, and I would honestly not be opposed to it becoming an actual feature. Need a certain material but don’t know where to find it? Need to capture a specific mob? Just wanna see some weird shit? Chuck a book into a portal, and you’re off. This idea honestly has so much potential, and with a bit of fine tuning, it could make for a fantastic addition to the game.

Coronavirus has reached minecraft
This is absolutely testing for future Minecraft updates. They came out with super secret settings that changed the filter on the game and we all though they were just some silly additions, but became the filters that you see through while spectating a mob. That zones one is hella suspicious, maybe a biome that gives a status effect? The red blue and green at the end were probably testing for the nether as soul sand valleys have a different hue in the air. Plus those colors make up all colors if you tweak em.

This is far and away the coolest April Fool’s joke Mojang has ever done, and I would honestly not be opposed to it becoming an actual feature. Need a certain material but don’t know where to find it? Need to capture a specific mob? Just wanna see some weird shit? Chuck a book into a portal, and you’re off. This idea honestly has so much potential, and with a bit of fine tuning, it could make for a fantastic addition to the game.
