- The plasma membrane is a complex structure made up of macromolecules that come together to form a fluid mosaic. In this video, we will look at the structure, properties and functions of the fluid mosaic model.
We will cover:
00:00 Intro
00:58 Why do cells need membranes?
01:34 What are membranes made of?
02:29 Organization of the fluid mosaic model
03:27 Lipids
04:23 Proteins
05:47 Carbohydrates
06:32 Properties of cell membranes
08:57 Functions of cell membranes

Plz Make a Video on Lysosomes & Golgi Complex
Thank you so much! We actually just published a video on the Golgi complex today: ruclips.net/video/Jn-1lB5jb6I/видео.html 😊 I hope you enjoy it!
hi i saw another video that said low temp means a more rigid membrane which contradicts what you said, which one is correct?
Hi there! I am sorry if there is any information that might be misleading. To clarify: At lower temperatures, the lipids in the membrane can transition from a fluid state to a more rigid state. This is because the decreased kinetic energy at lower temperatures reduces the movement of the lipid molecules, making the membrane less fluid and more gel-like.
Fluidity in cold temperatures is that why cholesterol is so high in crustaceans?
🙏🙏🙏
hello, sir! Can we use your video in our presentation?
Hi Allesalyn! Absolutely! Feel free to show it to your class in your presentation. ❤️
@@JoaosLab thank you, sir! and also, u made the topic so easy for my group
Absolutely absolutely great visuals- gonna come back to this channel again and again!🤌
Come back anytime! 🙌
