For accessories I recommend the fastrax exhaust set #2202 . You get an inside bracket a rear numberplate surround to reinforce the mounting point and you can choose to have twin back box or single sided the bracket allows to slide exhaust in or out for personal preference can sit straight or angled . Use them on all my cars and their wing mirror set.
I'm literally unboxing and making the thank you video for the awesome Kyosho Datsun 240z that just arrived! Thank you Gavin, Raffall, and Rochester RC for this amazing gift. I need to pay some notes first, but a super thanks is definitely coming your way, sir. You're the best!
Looks great mate, In the middle of doing a all out TAO2 build with a stupid amount of genuine Hop up parts, As i enjoy finding and collecting the parts. Got the Lancia body and Mustang SVT Cobra R body so far but going to collect more and just change out bodies, Then going to build another chassis and start again!! The Tamiya bug has hit hard again after 30 years.
Yesterday, I tried to take out the play between the suspension parts of a MB-01 chassis, which took two hours. The problem isn't that much the actual play, but the fact that it takes quite a few screws and parts that influence the space between parts. These need to be put together and apart every time. Another problem is, that the sides (R/L) aren't necessary equal, which means two 0.2 mm shims on the right side may yield a different result on the left side. I think the main problem is, that there are two countersunk screws on the bottom that put the end "caps" up, but not necessarily towards the arms which creates some kind of random space every time the screws are put in. The whole frame is a bit weird. They seem to have designed this around modularity and symmetry. But I'm not really sure if I want that. After all, I don't mind buying a RWD chassis for a RWD car and FWD chassis for a FWD car. As for the decals/stickers: I use a cheap little (I think 300W) hot air "stick" from AliExpress and heat up the stickers, when they are in place after using some soapy water and a paper towel. It takes only 2-3 seconds to heat up the sticker to a state where I barely can touch them. It's a bit like magic sometime, since they completely take the shape of the surface. But it's important to note, that this needs to be the last step, since after that they usually can't be removed anymore without damaging them. A good tool is a cotton swap to push the stickers into corners and seams to get the water out and firmly pushing them on.
Thank you for this video! Your bodies are so realistic! Opel Calibra on FWD chassis looks awesome. Frankly I am amazed that they did not realease a 4WD Turbo Rally Calibra kit to accompany the Toyota Celica, Escort Cosworth and Lancia Delta models back in 1994/1995. As I recall the only full Tamiya Calibra kit available back then was a 1/8 gas powered one.
Question with the water technique, can it be used on a hard shell such as the Lunchbox, I only ask as I'm about to build one with my 6yr old as his first Rc and want him to be able to do as much as possible. I will be giving the shell a lacquer coat after main colour is done.
Question might be a silly one but what is the best tyres for a tamiya tt02 when the motor is a brushless 4370kv just ive gone through 1 set already ? Thank you in advance for any advice
Great job, Gavin! I still struggle to get these crisp lines after painting my fifth body. It surely takes a lot of practice and patience. By the way: Do you know what these grub screws are for in the upper and lower arms of the chassis? The MB-01 got the same, but couldn't find out why.
The more you wind them in it should adjust the ride height but would also stiffen up the friction shocks due to the amount of preload on them BUT at the end of the day they are still friction shocks
@@RCKickschannel well it should be the opposite helping smaller chanels. I will keep subbing they can unsub me all they want. Take care and have a great day from Newfoundland
No, it will be more like, wow look a signed and dated original body created by Gavin from RCKicks.com in 2024! These are not easy to find and are true rare RC collectable. ;)
I really don't get why you guys (RC RUclipsrs) are all doing these raffles cuz from what I can see it's only benefiting you guys and massively, because if 300 people have just 1 go £2 you get £600 for a car worth a quarter of the price, well less in this case. Not really giving back to the community when lining your wallets.
Thanks for watching the channel and for your comment. Before I answer and I am happy to go into any detail you like, can I ask what you do for a living?
@@RCKickschannel not really sure how my employment situation matters but I am currently out of work due to illnesses, I've also asked the same question to other RUclipsrs so I'm not just asking you this, they never even responded so thanks for your at least replying 👍
Of course Gavin gives back to the community. I'm very sure he and many others that run raffles use that money to buy more kits and parts to create more RC content for us viewers. It's all about engagement. I for one applaud youtubers that run raffles and hey who wouldn't want to win another RC car that was built/showcased on the channel. What the money goes to in the end is very personal. I think it's a great idea. Should be more of it. Everyone knows YT pays bugger all for views unless you have hundreds of thousands of subs.
@@steveblackbird thanks for your comment, I have said this isn't directed to this channel personally as I've commented on others channels, I have watched and very much enjoyed the content Gavin produces for years, it's the fact that the raffle side is generating mass amounts for RUclipsrs and I simply said I think it's wrong with such amounts generated. For instance who usually gets the majority of the wonga when you give to a charity!! It used to be give back to the community a prize/kit or something like that, and everyone is happy, now it's £2.00 per ticket for a £139 kit that can be very lucrative to ''certain'' money oriented people, and I'm not suggesting this about rckicks for 1 second I was just airing my view. I never said Gavin why are you... I really enjoy RUclips RC content I am subscribed to many so pls don't think I'm having a personal attack.

I love that opel calibra cliff body. My favorite for sure...

Awsome job, seeing that calibra on here shows it off a lot better than pics, i acctually like it now 😁

It was also available on TA-03F
It amazes me when people go for a scale look then have big body posts sticking out. Its about time manufacturers moved away from them.
Love the work and it looks great
great paint guide thanks
I want a Calibra body. The Cliff looks nice. FWD was available up to late 1990. And AWD after I think
Looks very nice 😊
Calibra shell turned out nice 👌🏻 would of done the supra different 😉
Hi, I like the shelves you the buggies on. What kind of shelf system is that, and where did you get it?
All of them come from Ikea
@@RCKickschannel I saw your video on this after posting my comment. Thanks.
Those Opel Supra's are worth a fortune
Come on Gav get those Opel decals off the Supra! Doesn't need the whole lot removing just Opel.
Get some TRD and Toyota ones on there.

Normally these are for setting the ride height but on this one, who knows as I must be missing something.

I need someone to finish my Tamiya body. 😢😂
How sloppy is it compared to the two decent tamiya benchmarks. A bit sloppy like the TT-01 or sloppistrophic like TT-02? Or worse?
Worse than a TT02
@@RCKickschannel That is quite sloppy 😂 Guess the hopup for the steering will be a very desired item, scalpers will be pleased :D

just think in 20 years time after youve installed a roof rack to the supra people on ebay will be like why has someone ruined that body

Is the title wrong on this video?
Why?
