@@chrisskoun I have a feeling it will, not many people know this but Xenoverse 2 only launched with the time chamber as the only stage for split screen but slowly they began adding more stages in the long-run.
Also Raging Blast 2 and Raging Blast 1 had split-screen but the amount of buildings and size of teh area was reduced to not overwhelme the old gen consoles.

I think developers need to really stop trying to delete couch multiplayer( and split-screen ), because as an option it’s always good to have. There are always gonna be people who wants to play some type of multiplayer and couch- may be very convenient for some of us
Yea, I do see the amount of couch multiplayer games are going down, but with this I think they will add more post launch!

@@orp5us I'm pretty sure they actually stated that they had no intentions of adding local co-op in the first place. It wasn't until they got enough complaints that they added it. so in a way he's right
@@hihowareya2445I mean the destruction physics from the other stages in local multiplayer is the only thing holding it back. I don’t really blame them doing this, they at the very least added local multiplayer.

Man why do game developers believe people still don’t like to get together and play couch co-op games. Back in the day we would of got all the stages
The excuse I’ve heard was that it’s harder to implement, since game development became more advanced.
I think it's a money thing, online means more copies to sell , and dlc per player, rather than people sharing.

Not at 60fps it wouldn't.
Going from 60fps to 30 in a fighting game is jarring as hell. Its why the Switch version of Pokken Tournament scaled back the visuals from the Wii U version, so it could maintain 60fps during local.
And Tenkaichi was known to dip into the mid teens during splitscreen.

Splitscreen was a GIVEN and yet even I thought they'd abandon it like every single other game does. Thank you, Dragon Ball for keeping friends and family together on the same couch!

Its really refreshing that even in 2024, we still have few games with split-screen. I am sure in the upcoming updates, Sparking zero will have more stages for the spilt-screen.

Literally all they had to do was lower the framerate to 30 fps for split screen and I’m sure every stage would of been able to run fine

That wouldn't work since the game speed is tied to fps, just like most other fighting games.

On PC, somebody already did a mod where they can have all the maps besides just one map. That just showed me it could have been done even if they had to dumb down the graphics

Needs more stages! I don't think I'll get this until they add better multiplayer support. It's a fighting game for crying out loud -- people want to play with their friends!
This game will be every 2000’s kids dream. Its everything we’ve been waiting for, buying it for the kids but dads will hog the controllers😅
My friends aren't really the kind of people who would have a PS5 and PS Plus and their own copy of this game. They arent as into gaming as i am so I have to show them the games to play if we play games. We're also all adults with jobs who probably wouldnt play something like this unless we were hanging out anyway. If this is all there is to couch multiplayer, then I've lost interest in the game /: online just doesn't work for everybody. People with causal gaming friends dont really have a lot of options here
I'm buying this game, bro, just for the nostalgia of when I was playing Tenkaichi with my cousins on the PS2.

Everyone needs to stop the "Modern hardware cant handle local PVP in a Budokai Tenkaichi game" excuse, this is just disapointing, i hope they fix this with a future update.
I'd be more than happy for them to lower the fps to 30!!
If they couldn't make all stages playable in split screen because of performance, they could have just made the game run at 30 fps split-screen.

@@Anonmany Same thing with Sparking Zero, it was originally not gonna have Local Multiplayer but due too the community wanting it at launch they added it. Of course they didn't want to delay the game more so instead they made the Time Chamber map be the only one working for split screen while they work on modifying the other maps in the future.
They are gonna probably make the maps more smaller and less destructable for local multiplayer since they did the same for Raging Blast and XenoVerse.
i understand if local multiplayer is weak on other games but in fighting games? this is nonsense. having awesome gameplay and hundreds of characters to play is great, but that doesn't mean you can pass on some of the crucial features of a fighting game. I hope they make up for it in the next patches. this is not okay.
Lmao they can’t. This game is way more intensive to run than you think. They absolutely experimented with it and to run split screen on series x or ps5 they would have to turn your resolution down to like 720p and absolutely destroy the graphics on the other maps. Everything breaks and explodes on this game and it can’t hold a steady 60fps split screen on the other maps, hence why they only added it for this map
@@Steelesie stop making excuses it's literally an anime styled arena fighting game, this isn't god of war or elden ring with photorealistic graphics. Just lowering to 30fps in split screen would allow to play in other states. The real reason it wasn't added was because they wanted to sell more copies.
@@JT-cx2ev yes they could absolutely do it at 30 fps but people have been throwing fits over not having 60fps so they didn’t wanna do it at 30. Game speed is tied directly to frame rate in this game so if you run at 30 fps its literally in slow motion also.

And it’s not an excuse there’s a lot of physics and things happening in this game aside from just fighting. Everything breaks and explodes, insane animations and effects, even on a stylized game it adds up. Not to mention they added split screen, so you’re whining over nothing. It being in the hyperbolic time chamber isn’t stopping anyone who wants to play split screen from playing it. Play it in the chamber and get over it, they already delivered the largest roster in history, Seperate stories for most characters, Tournament modes,Challenge modes, local coop, custom story mode scenarios you can make yourself, and what if stories in the campaign. They’ve delivered more content than any fighting game of recent times but it’s always more more more. It’s hands down the best anime fighting game ever released already but you still wanna complain about every little thing, just get over it and enjoy the hard work they clearly put into creating this game. The 130 dollar version alone outsold every version of black ops 6, but nothings ever good enough for everybody.
@@Steelesie it's boring to play on the same stage and that's far worse than playing with 30fps. I've already tested the PC mod for split screen in all other stages and the performance difference is barely even noticeable, this is on a low tier gaming laptop btw. Only hardcore gamers would complain about 30fps and they wouldn't even play offline multiplayer anyway, the people who wanted it wouldn't complain.

yeah that super moves list constantly showing up and blocking the characters and view is going to get very annoying very fast, they need to add an option to hide it
Yeah & it kinda kills the classic suspense of not knowing a super move may be coming

It makes sense if the arena graphics dont hold up well for Ps4 but come on, on ps5 they should have made offline multiplayer work within all maps. Feels like they made an excuse just to focus most on online..
It’s a big mistake to just put the time room for local battle instead of can select any scenario 😓
They would literally have to transform the whole game to look like BT3 for it to work like that again.
Probably performance issue since time room doesn't have many objects on screen. They didn't even plan to put splitscreen multiplayer on the first place, it was designed for single player only. This mode was created because fans were angrily demanding it and they decided to fit it somewhere into the game.

Complete nonsense!!! Why is it so hard for game developers to just ADD on to old formula. Only ONE stage for couch co op. I’m not Impressed. It's good that Sparking Zero has local multiplayer, but would be better if it looked like Naruto Storm 4 local multiplayer without the line in the middle that says "it's split-screen"

@@Sebas-eg8pp I think its more the difficulty for non familiar players being able to properly move and function with a single view like the old games, realistically anyone well versed in the franchise would not complain but they want to make money with a wider audience which is ok but still annoying, at least give us an option to not split.
