Beautifully detailed miniatures, but I love how Wes Anderson clearly preferred said perfect miniatures to be filmed in such a way as to celebrate they are miniatures in the final cut! 🤔🏆
I am 24 and I am currently studying to become a 3D modeler. I love watching the beginning of modeling. I learned a lot from professionals.
Absolutely beautiful work. One of my all time favourite films.
lol that no CGI sign
As always, great video! Super jealous of the fact you worked with Wes Anderson. Great job! I wish Criterion would've included this on their special edition.
Where are those miniatures now? Have they been saved? Great material thank you for your wonderful work. It’s one of my favorite films!
At first, many of the model makers were allowed to keep some of their miniatures. Then the producers changed their minds and wanted them back. Some of the models were displayed in the French miniature museum in Lyon. I think Wes Anderson kept some as well. They were beautiful models.
Just discovered these videos (feb. 2021) and have been bingeing on them. Great stuff, love it!
Thanks! More coming soon.
@@piercefilm me too. love em.
Loved the look of this movie but did wonder why it looked that way. Now I know!
Perfection in no time at all.
i loved this guy 💙
Cool behind the scenes look. Sounds like a lot of fun Pierce.
It was! Also some amazing miniature work in the upcoming Wes Anderson movies, Asteroid City and Henry Sugar!
Gi Joes are 1:18 scale… that would make a perfect setting for them
Amazing effects - beautiful outcome x
The French Dispatch also has beautiful miniature work. More on that film later...
This channel is perfect.
Thanks for watching!
Very cool video! We LOVE Grand Budapest and this extra info on the miniatures is fantastic! :)
Thanks for watching! We had a fun time making the miniatures. Wait till you see the miniature work in The French Dispatch! ;)
@@piercefilm Looks like a blast! I studied architecture and the thing I miss most about school is building models (you never get to do that in the real world of the field). Absolutely CANNOT WAIT for The French Dispatch! :D
@@piercefilm You worked on the French Dispatch as well?
@@nukliozz I didn't get to build anything, but I was the model shop videographer. Lots of beautiful work done for French Dispatch!
@@piercefilm Can't wait! Thank you for the info!
Great video, amazing stuff!
Thanks! It was a fun film to work on.
I love this channel. Movie Magic.
Thanks for watching. More coming soon!
Are they still using the same process for film making?
Which process? Miniatures? Some films and TV shows still use miniatures like, First Man, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Mandalorian, Dunkirk, The French Dispatch.
Did you mention the great participation of Illona Vovchyk ?
That's right, Illona did amazing work on the rocks and mountains. I think she is in some of the photos.
OK...
Nice Vidiots Tee:)
Yeah, I used to go there in my Santa Monica days! Great store.
