>*with the construction of the Dome of the Rock in 691 and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in 705, the Muslims established the Temple Mount as an Islamic holy site. The dome enshrined the Foundation Stone, the holiest site for Jews. Before Omar Abd al-Aziz died in 720, he banned the Jews from worshipping on the Temple Mount, a policy which remained in place for over the next 1,000 years of Islamic rule. In 717, new restrictions were imposed against non-Muslims that affected the Jews' status. As a result of the imposition of heavy taxes on agricultural land, many Jews were forced to migrate from rural areas to towns. Social and economic discrimination caused substantial Jewish emigration from Palestine.*
>*During his visit, al-Harizi found a prosperous Jewish community living in the city. From 1219 to 1220, most of Jerusalem was destroyed on the orders of Al-Mu'azzam Isa, who wanted to remove all Crusader fortifications in the Levant, and as a result, the Jewish community, along with the majority of the rest of the population, left the city.*
>*The era of Mamluk rule saw the Jewish population shrink substantially due to oppression and economic stagnation. The Mamluks razed Palestine's coastal cities, which had traditionally been trading centers that energized the economy, as they had also served as entry points for the Crusaders and the Mamluks wished to prevent any further Christian conquests. Mamluk misrule resulted in severe social and economic decline, and as the economy shrank, so did tax revenues, leading the Mamluks to raise taxes, with non-Muslims being taxed especially heavily. They also stringently enforced the dhimmi laws and added new oppressive and humiliating rules on top of the traditional dhimmi laws. Palestine's population decreased by two-thirds as people left the country and the Jewish and Christian communities declined especially heavily. Muslims became an increasingly larger percentage of the shrinking population. Although the Jewish population declined greatly during Mamluk rule, this period also saw repeated waves of Jewish immigration from Europe, North Africa, and Syria. These immigration waves possibly saved the collapsing Jewish community of Palestine from disappearing altogether.*
>*In 1266 the Mamluk Sultan Baybars converted the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron into an exclusive Islamic sanctuary and banned Christians and Jews from entering. They previously were able to enter it for a fee. The ban remained in place until Israel took control of the building in 1967. In 1286, leader of German Jewry Meir of Rothenburg, was imprisoned by Rudolf I for attempting to lead a large group of Jews hoping to settle in Palestine.*
>*In 1470, Isaac b. Meir Latif arrived from Ancona and counted 150 Jewish families in Jerusalem. In 1473, the authorities closed down the Nachmanides Synagogue after part of it had collapsed in a heavy rainstorm. A year later, after an appealing to Sultan Qaitbay, the Jews were given permission to repair it. The Muslims of the adjoining mosque however contested the verdict and for two days, proceeded to demolish the synagogue completely. The vandals were punished, but the synagogue was only rebuilt 50 years later in 1523.*
>*A few years later in 1488, Italian commentator and spiritual leader of Jewry, Obadiah ben Abraham arrived in Jerusalem. He found the city forsaken holding about seventy poor Jewish families. By 1495, there were 200 families. Obadiah, a dynamic and erudite leader, had begun the rejuvenation of Jerusalem's Jewish community. This, despite the fact many refugees from the Spanish and Portuguese expulsion of 1492-97 stayed away worried about the lawlessness of Mamluk rule. An anonymous letter of the time lamented: "In all these lands there is no judgement and no judge, especially for the Jews against Arabs.*
>*The 17th century saw a steep decline in the Jewish population of Palestine due to the unstable security situation, natural catastrophes, and abandonment of urban areas, which turned Palestine into a remote and desolate part of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman central government became feeble and corrupt, and the Jewish community was harassed by local rulers, janissaries, guilds, Bedouins, and bandits. The Jewish community was also caught between feuding local chieftains who extorted and oppressed the Jews. The Jewish communities of the Galilee heavily depended on the changing fortunes of a banking family close to the ruling pashas in Acre. As a result, the Jewish population significantly shrank.*

If you're calling for the removal of the Jews from Israel but never discuss where they are supposed to go, what should one infer from that?
Details... Pesky details
💯💯💯💯 and one more thing. Let’s assume that only a small fraction of the protestors are pro Hamas or outright anti semitic. Infrequent as pro Hamas sentiment may be I haven’t seen or heard about any peaceful and reasonable protestors who are openly disavowing them. If Jewish people like myself are disavowing the actions of the IDF why doesn’t that apply to them? Because I find that disturbing.
Most of these protesters couldn’t care less about where Israeli Jews (many of which were born in Israel) go as long as they get out of Israel. One former college friend said “Give them land in Germany.” That sounds good on paper but Germany would never agree to that. And if he really cared he’d write a letter to the German chancellor.
One may infer that (apart from some hardliners) serious people are NOT calling for the removal of jews from ISR, which many choose to ignore was taken from the inhabitants forcibly (who over time got *at least* as much right to it) and handed to the new ISR.
Not content with what they were given, over the last 3/4 of a century have greedily gobbled up more and more, forcing the prior inhabitants inter ghettos like Gaza (ignoring the irony) and slowly breaking up what they *have* had in West Bank.
Where are they supposed to go? At this point, likely the only way to bring peace (without genocidally wiping out the other, as hardliners on either side want) is force each into roughly half of the current country (both can have their "river to the sea"), DMZ between, and neither gets sole control of Jerusalem.

Protesting against Isreali occupation and genicide is not antisemitic.
Protesting for ceasefire is not support for Hamas.
Hamas attacked Jewish civilians on October 7th and once Israel gets them they will leave Hamas. BTW Genocide is what the Chinese are doing to the Uyghurs. In Gaza they have homes schools, hospitals, markets, and places of worship that doesn't occur with genocide. Gaza's population has increased every year over the last 10 years, that doesn't happen with genocide either. You seem to be confusing casualties of war with genocide and those numbers would be much less if Hamas didn't hide behind their own civilians.
@kimberlygarrett1485 Typical jidan liar . You all have the same narrative and say the same crap. You should not be where you dont belong in the first place, that it's not your home. You should stay in Europe and America where your ancestors belong. You are not even Semitic. 🤷🏻♂️
Prior to 1917 “Balfour Declaration" of the British govt's intent to establish a Jewish homeland in Palestine, the British govt had announced plans set up a Zionist state in their _Kenya_ colony. 3.5 million acres of the finest Kenyan land were demarcated for this purpose.
The plan fell apart due to different reasons, including the fact that some of the colonizers already settled in Kenya were straight up antisemitic and opposed the idea of giving prime Kenyan land to the Jews, proposing that the Israeli state be set up in Palestine.
Kenyans would be experiencing exactly what Palestinians are going through today, if history had played out just a bit differently. Indeed, freedom fighters in Kenya (including participants in the _Mau Mau_ liberation movement that was agitating for the return of Kenyan land appropriated by colonial settlers) were branded terrorists and their movements outlawed by colonial-era legislation, until 20 years ago, when the legislation was scrapped.
That’s why it’s called coverage. They cover it. So the truth isn’t seen. Covered.
Semitic: “ of, relating to, or constituting a subfamily of the Afro-Asiatic language family that includes Hebrew, Aramaic, Arabic, and Amharic”. So, anti-Semitic means being against all these people? Interesting how some Jews have positioned themselves to use anti-semitism as exclusive to Jews.

I saw a fox interview with a Jewish student saying he feared for his life and all the protesters were antisemetic. The headline was something like antisemetic protests. He was arguing with a particular protester on camera, and I couldn't hear their conversation clearly as they were talking/yelling fast. I slowed it down and listened again, and the protester said "I'm NOT antisemitic because I AM JEWISH. " She was protesting the treatment of innocent Gazans. I couldn't comment on that Fox video as their comments were turned off.
Fox propaganda is what we have come to expect and they never fail to deliver.
This did not start with Hamas . The Slaughter against the Palestinians started more than 75 years ago .There was no Hamas then .
Yes all the other new countries that came to be after WWI pushed the Palestinians out of their territory where they once roamed freely. THE PALESTINIANS are like the gypsies in Europe, nobody wants them. If Iran hadn't corrupted Hamas a two state solution might already be in place but Iran pays poorer Muslims to do their dirty antisemitic work for them. The Palestinians should hope that Israel
can rid them of Hamas and the Iranian usupers.

I don't begin to understand the complexities of this incredible situation, but two things I do know is that when I was in college and we were protesting the v.n. war and the draft, the powers that be sent in the National Guard and all of a sudden 4 students were dead at Kent State. Voices were silenced, and a grief descended on an entire generation - i.e. look at the broken and walking wounded living homeless on the streets. It only takes a second for your life to change forever.
The other thing that concerns me is that my beloved library at PSU in Portland, Oregon was broken into and things were destroyed, walls and computers were tagged with spray paint, windows broken etc. when the police were called and arrests were made 7 of the 30 arrested were students. Who were the people in black hoods and masks that were arrested. Wow I am dismayed. When I commented on the news channel reporting the protesting, I received two comments back one in which the young man ask whether I thought bringing the issue of the plights of the civilians in Gaza wasn't worth a few broken windows etc. I said I agree that light needs to be brought to where certain moneys from colleges go - of course I am devastated by the destruction of Gaza and what happens to the civilians and children - also I am devasted by what happened in Israel iast Oct. I do believe that B. N. is responsible and his fear of International prosecution is driving this insanity."
I also believe destroying property is not going to further your cause. In the end we agreed and left with a Shallom.
The next guy tried to shame me for being sick over the library of my alma mater like it somehow meant more to me than the deaths of the countless children. I'm a great grandmother of 15 so that statement was absurd. I wrote him expressing that of course I am devastated by this, but I can have two feelings at once. Students, ha, what are they studying? The only thing they are educated in is being indoctrinated by agenda driven liberal professors. The kids are failures
Good showing solidarity
It seems that students have too much time. Why are students protesting and not the employees?
The sad thing is that the right to protest costs around 25k-30k a year!

Are they aware of how bad it makes the U.S. look? We have critisized other countries for ruthlesly quelching protests. We are seenas hypocrites.
You're referring to the US government? Yes, they would be very embarrassing
This Turky channel never talk about real genocide Turky against Kurds !
The one happening right now is in Gaza.
It's not a 'war' and it didn't start on 10/7.
Bzzt. Fail. It is and it did.
Thank you very much 🇮🇱💝💝💪🫵🇮🇱🇮🇱
As a current student at Columbia - Thank you for mentioning how boring the protests were. Those which were actually on campus were just that- boring. The protests outside of the gates were a bit more lively, but they were very orderly for the most part, though plenty loud. I was not a part of the protests, though I stuck around to check it out after class a number of times, but there just wasn't much action going on. I did see some Jewish folk be harassed, but they were on the pro-Palestine side, full Hasidic look (Shtreimels and all), referred to themselves as rabbis, and were holding signs that said "anti-Israel is not anti- semitic" or anti-zionist messages, and trying to explain why they have an anti-zionist stance to the pro-Israel stooges who were mocking the way they talked, telling them they don't even speak English so they can't understand a word they say (I was standing 8 feet away and could understand everything just fine), and all in all belittling them for ridiculing the actions of Israel.
As for Hamilton Hall- I'm going to be real clear when I say that nobody should shed a tear for furniture being broken in this hall; everything in this building is so old that it needs to be replaced and does not lend itself to the modern day educational experience. The desks are often the bolted down, divided bench style with the tiny, fixed "desk" surface that is maybe large enough for a notebook, but definitely large enough for a laptop or safe to set a tablet on. They are uncomfortable and a lot of it is really very worn. Admittedly, it does give an old school vibe to the place since the wooden desks/seats certainly rock that antique aesthetic, but I'd rather have a learning experience that isn't uncomfortable to the point of being a distraction. An insurance claim to replace all of the furniture with something more suitable for modern day learning would be a welcomed side effect of this protest.
I do hope they did not destroy the stained glass in the entry way.
I never heard Cenk protest about the denial of Erdogan on the issue of Armenian genocide,...........

The students are against occupation, apartheid and genocide. The rest is insignificant.
And by magic when students become employees they are against immigration?
It seems that in the US the right to protest costs around 25k a year!
Non violence for all. All loving kindness.
At least Columbia students know what a checkpoint is like.
Your videos are top notch. You should have millions of subscribers. Thanks .
Very glad these guys point to corporate media as one of the problems. In 1987 the Fairness Doctrine was eliminated. This required media companies to present both sides of a story. The elimination spawned opinion vs journalism. News departments were moved to the Entertainment department and thus ratings controlled journalism. “Analysts” replaced journalists. Hence, the US has what it has . . and the chaos grows.
I guess enough time has passed that KENT STATE has been forgotten.
Well, I remember it, clearly, and we are on that road again.

Protest rallies at university campuses in the US, Canada, Britain, and Australia against what (let there be no mistake about this) are the undeniably disproportionate responses by the Israeli Defense Forces [IDF] upon Gaza, for the heinous barbarism Hamas militia forces initiated on October 7, reached fever pitch in the last two weeks of April, and into May. However, it is also an undeniable reality that, Hamas’ strategists, were 101% certain Israel’s rejoinder to what its militia initially inflicted upon unarmed Israelis on October 7, would be met with the ferocious responses which have transpired.
Therefore, the only conclusion to draw is that Hamas’ military strategists willfully launched that gruesome attack on October 7, knowing full well that Israel would respond ferociously. Essentially, Hamas was fully prepared to inevitably sacrifice the lives of many thousands of Gazans: in order for it to win the PR war. And there are two aspects with this abhorrent strategy.
First, they knew it was absolutely certain that, the millions of Muslims currently residing in Western countries (which accrues to be in the vicinity of 30 million people) would culminate with them rallying en masse to stage pro-Palestinian, and anti-Western protests.
The second trait of its plan, was with banking upon gaining the sympathy of leftoid liberals in Western spheres: by way of manipulating their mindsets with seeing an unending parade of suffering in Gaza.
Well, the latter facet has certainly come to fruition, and prevails with leftist-leaning education federations in Western nations calling for ‘solidarity with Palestine’, and the ‘eradication of Israel, and its inhabitants’. However, these same entities haven’t summarily condemned the extreme barbarism that Hamas perpetrated on October 7, with callously massacring between 1200, unarmed people, and raping women.
With respect to Muslim organisations not condemning this barbarism, obviously come as no surprise to anyone. After all, these same Islamic entities have never unreservedly condemned those Muslims fundamentalists who willfully murdered 532 people, during the Reign of Terror that transpired in Britain and western Europe, between the Atocha bombings in 2004, and all the way through to the murder of the local MP, Sir David Amess, on October 15, 2021.
At every pro-Palestinian/anti-Western rally that has occurred in scores of major cities, and campuses in Western nations from the middle of October, has seen numerous instances of vile rhetoric being spewed out calling for the eradication of Israel, and Jews. One such instance occurred in Melbourne, on November 23, at a pro-Palestinian rally, when a 16-year-old Muslim girl (clad with a scarf over its head), unconditionally called for the annihilation of Israel, and Jews.
On Nov 24, a front-page article pertaining in The Australian titled, ‘Chilling words of Aussie schoolkid: Hamas ‘doing a good job’. The article reported that a 16-year-old Muslim girl, “bristled with glee about the Jews who were butchered by Hamas militia”.
Since then, we’ve had the horrific situation where a 16-year-old Muslim boy attacked a Syrian bishop at the pulpit in his church at Wakley. He did this, because the bishop had “defiled the prophet”. Yesterday, Friday May 4, I went to the Sydney University where a pro-Palestinian, and pro-Israel groups faced off with each other. And it was there that I heard two young Muslim women square off with three pro-Israeli protestors, and one of them said, “The sooner there is no Israel, and no Jews on the planet, is hen the world will be a good place.”
Well, if I (a white male) was to have said anything as divisive as that, to any person who was non-white or, indeed, a non-Christian, then the authorities would have charged me with some offence. And if I was in Britain that would entail a jail sentence of at least two years.
Alas, when it comes to Muslims vomiting out vile, and highly derogatory perspectives, politicians and self-hating, progressives/liberals are like the three monkeys, who only want to see what fits into their deluded perspectives. Effectively, that boils down to being that, ONLY White folks can be racist and bigoted.
Apropos to why politicians here in Australia have been virtually quite obscure with calling out Muslims for their disdain to Jews and the abolition of Israel, is inherently due to the fact that, there are 8 federal electoral seats in Sydney and Melbourne that have high percentage of Muslim voters that would dislodge their sitting members. However, there are also another 4 seats in the major cities of Australia, with up to 20 percent of voters in Labor held seats who are Muslim.
Hence, those percentages of voters in these seats, which are also held by Labor party members, are more than enough to oust them, too. Therefore, if the federal government was to condemn the virulent bigotry espoused and, INDEED, inflicted by Muslims would see it lose office. In confluence with this occurring here in Australia, there are similar occurrences taking place in the US, Canada, and in Britain, whereby Muslims threaten the security of political parties in those spheres.
This most certainly the case in Britain, whereby HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Muslims have taken to the streets in recent months demonstrating with pro-Palestinian rallies. All of which extols that Muslims are totally unassimilable in the host societies. And because of their numbers can affect the outcomes of elections.
That scarf was popularized by YASSIR ARAFAT. Geez people! Learn your history! HE WAS NOT A NICE GUY!

Tassie Arafat was fighting with a HAMAS then sponsored by Israel.
I wonder what happened in that relationship.

I don’t even watch this news about Gaza etc. War seems to be part of their culture. America has enough problems right here.
"War seems to be part of their culture "?????? Your brain is sooo fried there's no point explaining anything to you 🙄 GO READ THE HISTORY OF YOUR COUNTRY!!!!!
BS. This started decades ago!
Wrong ! It started in 636 when Arabs invaded what is today Palestine.
People are not blindly more. This is not the 50's or 60's or the 70's. Society is watching and cameras are rolling from all angles. We know who are the true aggressors and the ones causing all the mayhem here and across the world. There is no hiding the truth and what is occurring in Gaza. Much respect to all these young students for speaking up and challenging the wrongs in our country.. Stay Strong !
Yes we seen them attack civilians on October 7th and then retreat behind their own civilians causing their death too.
Sssshhhhhh!No criticism of Israel here.
Nah instead we are going to criticize the pro Hamas, pro terrorist, anti American crowd. If you don’t like America get out.
Left leaning protests always attract right wing agitation.
Why so much focus on the violence of Oct 7. All this started in 1948.
The Arabs have lost every war against Israel since 1948 but they are very slow learners..
I wonder why you want to start the history at 1948? Did something big happen prior to 1948?
@@far-middle The bigger question is why does the left hate Israel and support their enemies..
it started with arab islamic occupation of holy jewish lands for 1400 years, they mad now cause they lost some land they stole, oops, that land is israel
There are always insurgents that get within peaceful protests who start the violence. They could be on AIpAC Payroll.
I am so sick of israel !!! I am also sick of everyone who is helping this genocide in gaza !!!
There is NO genocide in Gaza you imbecile moron!
Why they don't demonstrate against what Russia is doing to Ukraine?
Because their country is helping Ukraine. If they had funded Russia and thus the killing of innocent civilians, people would protest just as much. How is this difficult to understand?

@@FreeThinkingRealistit started in 1948. The worst mistake the US, UK and UN ever made.
Massive protests in all Universities over the country and no dialog established between the students and major media/politicians. Propaganda is easier for small, one sided minds. Ignore the young generation and you will see the results. Young people represent the future of a country. Treat them with respect, listen to them, take them into consideration , love them,...as you do with your own children, and you will have wonderful developments.
Young people are too malleable ....they are easily led astray on some cause or other without fully understanding... that's why we don't have 18 year old presidents
They tried to dehumanize the Palestina people, but the only people they dehumanized were themselves.
The student protesters have the right to free speech. Even if it’s labeled “hate speech,” it’s still protected speech. However, they don’t have the right to destroy private property, trespassing, disturbing the peace, criminal mischief, and vandalism. If they were arrested for illegally entering a private building and destroying it then that’s on them. They went from peaceful protest, which is protected, to violently taking control of a private building, which is not a protected activity. You can’t break the law and then whine about the consequences. Civility demands accountability. Peacefully protest all you want, just keep it civil.
PRO PEACE !!! What part of that is impossible to understand???
lol, did sound ridiculous
Of course they are going to downplay the whole thing,...we the American people are not ignorant,...
