Pegula played well this tournament and I like her, but in her previous match, I was pulling for Petra Kvitova! I'm still bummed Petra didn't win against Pegula. I would have loved to have seen Petra against Swiatek in this match! All 3 are wonderful players though.
Its hard to play Swiatek when shes feeling comfortable. The winners can come from all directions. Her spin can bounce high to push enemy behind. When shes uncomfortable, she will make alot of errors I think the final will be Swiatek Gracia again
Pegula's second serve is so slow. She reminds me of Cam Norrie. A steady player but no real weapons or variety to trouble the top seeds. Norrie was very lucky with the draw he had at Wimbledon to get as far as the SF.

Iga has to somehow find her A game against Sabalenka (even though she's dominated Sabalenka the last two meetings). This was a tough match to watch at times - so many unforced errors. I'm hoping that Iga can channel the version of herself from Doha rather than the one from the Australian Open. I know she's capable of it, but she just has to find her consistent game and she can win this.
Actually sabalenka got dominated the last 3 matches they played. Iga has to be in really bad form in order to lose, otherwise she has figured out sabalenka and she should beat her easily

Pegula improved this year and has been quite consistent. She has gone further than Iga in the last two tournaments. She has gone out to Barty in Australian Open, Iga in the semis in Miami, Ons in the final in Madrid, Iga in quarterfinals of Roland Garros. This is not a bad record. I'm surprised with how much she improved in the last year because she is not a young player but if she can improve just a bit more she can be a genuine contender.
