    I love the simplicity of the second lick. It's tasteful, yet easy to pull off! CHEERS!

      I agree, I also thought the second lick sounded cool at a slower pace tempo as well. I'm a lifelong Paiste player myself, congrats again on the sponsorship, so cool man!

    I trying to learn how to count stuff. How would i count the second lick you did? Would it he 1e&a since the &a are 32nd notes?

    • @ThatSwedishDrummer
      @ThatSwedishDrummer  7 месяцев назад +1

      You don't really need to count 32nd notes. You can practice counting 16th notes (1e&a etc.), and play double strokes for every 16th note. That way you're practicing counting one subdivision while playing another. Great practice!

  • @Zursen
    @Zursen 5 месяцев назад +1

    You mention hi hat lick #2 is REALLY EASY! But I'm struggling. The tempo needed to make this lick sound good is advanced level or am I fooling myself on this one? I struggle to hit those double notes at the fastest tempo in this demo. Do you have a lesson on how to get there?

    • @ThatSwedishDrummer
      @ThatSwedishDrummer  4 месяца назад +1

      It's all about practicing slowly. One thing you can work on is playing double strokes very slowly with a metronome, and gradually increase the tempo with 5 bpm at a time. Practice each tempo for about 5 minutes each! :)

    • @Zursen
      @Zursen 4 месяца назад

      @@ThatSwedishDrummer I can get up to 140bpm double strokes consistently, but my left hand plays like a left hand and I just can't break that barrier. When you reach your max tempo that you can't surpass, what should you practice to get past it?

    I have a serious question for you. Twenty some years ago I was a pretty decent drummer but after not playing for a very long time I’m now on my churches praise team and in desperate need of getting my skills back. I just don’t know how to go about it.
    Thoughts?

    • @ThatSwedishDrummer
      @ThatSwedishDrummer  9 месяцев назад +1

      The more you practice, the more of your muscle-memory from when you used to play will come back. It's gonna take time, but it'll come back.
      I'd recommend you practice one thing at a time, and depending on what you need to play - play that.
      If you're playing songs, focus on the songs and the structure of the songs. Don't focus too much on technique and fills, just make sure you play the song with the proper tempo, groove etc.
