I think what makes the character special is that we know her childhood back story and saw how she grew up as a normal kid. And now we see that side of her meshed with the trained assassin side of her. It gives her complexity and makes her more human. If all we knew was that she was an assassin, then we'd feel less sympathy towards her, and would be perplexed by her moments of humanity. But because we see her whole story, we don't take her too seriously.... And she even adds to the humanity of her fake family who's really her real family. She was the innocents in the family when they were young. They all sorta knew it was fake, but she was the only one who believed it, and so she sorta was the glue for them and it shows in the film. Very powerful stuff.

@@ml0723 once again I dont mind yelena taking up but to think that we waited so long to get to know about her past and a solo standalone movie we got a yelena movie..ofcourse she might be good but to think that a new character got a movie in her first role is unfair..
@@shaimazaffar4726 Nat. Is. Dead. If they had just made the movie years ago, it would be a Nat movie. But because it happened after Nat was dead, they couldn't just make a Nat movie. It would be pointless. we already know how it ends. I hate to say it, Nat is one of my favorites. But it's the truth. This movie from the get go, was always about passing the torch. It was always going to be about Yelena.
This movie delivered where it mattered in regards to Nat - showing us something we haven't gotten to see before. A lot of the scenes where Yelena is shining is also casting light on Nat - we get to see her be the big sister, to see the less confident, less sure side of her - her humanity.
What did you want? a mindless action flick where Nat was running around being a solo badass? We got that in every movie she's been in. She's a badass. we already know that. She's also a dead badass who sacrificed herself to save the universe. That movie would have been sentimental sure, but it wouldn't have served a purpose in the MCU. it'd be an outlier.
@@ml0723 everything you said was good but the fact that yelena got her solo movie in the first movie is what is outrageous..she had the limelight all to her self..which I wouldn't have mind if it was after this movie but to get a movie before the og one is the issue
She's so baddass yet cute and her accent makes her adorable af.
She's kinda adorable, she's the best character of the movie
2:15 Ah, Natāsha did her pose again
Omg I just noticed! Thanks for pointing it out
Damn i don't notice that good catch
Kinda? She is captivatingly adorable and don’t tell Cecile
Lol now only noticed her sister is right about her such a poser😂
Such a poser
Florence Pugh acting is iconic and she is my fav...and I want her as new black widow she is my favourite
What acting exactly? The terrible imitation of a Russian accent or her extremely cringey jokes and total stoneface devoid of all emotion?
No she shouldn’t
@@alexanderabrashev1366 terrible joke are the writer’s fault but i get you for the accent it comes and goes
@@alexanderabrashev1366 I mean coming from someone who lives in Belarus it's not that bad. It's one of the better Hollywood Russian accents of the past decade but it's far from perfect and it slips often.

Adding the vest from Infinity War into this movie was such a beautiful touch. Makes her death hit So Much Harder.
Yeah I'm ready for the new Black Widow
Talk about passing a torch!
They literally found the perfect person, its not easy to follow after scar jo but florence can absolutely handle it!!
She is not gonna stay with the Avengers but with the Thunderbolts
@@IkanaMaskedMan she'll probably start there...then switch sides. Who knows how it will play out?

The chemistry felt honest and grounded. Very sibling like. Great movie and great work on all the actors parts.
Yelena and Natasha giving tough competition to Thor and Loki for 3 minutes 36 seconds straight!
Florence you OWNED this movie and you weren't even trying too. If Marvel knows whats best for them, theyll sign you up for more then just the Hawkeye series. Love you girl.
And yet ScarJo probably collected 10x to 15x the paycheck that Pugh did!
She’s my personal favorite female mcu character now.
She really went to a bad break up with Christian, got doctrinated by a Swedish cult, and now she's a badass marvel character. Girlboss
Bale?
@@nivaneh1010 it’s a reference to midsommar

I know your joking, but the face Danny makes after condemning Christian to burn to death, is very similar to the attitude of the mind controlled widows, so thats kinda of fun

I love her accent she's a really good character
An absolute iconic queen. All bow down 👸🏼
Yo - same pfp gang!
Everyone who liked her childish side should just watch Killing Eve.
I was looking for this comment
Is florence in killing eve?
@@Ramramramram-1 No. Killing Eve has two main characters. One of them is Villanelle, a Russian assassin with a similar accent and with pretty similar personality when it comes to jokes and being childish. She's fun to watch, though her jokes can get more mean-spirited compared to Yelena.
Florence is in Little Women and Midsommar though, but if you're a fan you've seen those probably.
Ya im sure thats wat they were going for
They copied Vilanelle’s character!!!!
The part where she does the landing pose then shakes it off like a cat🤣🤣
really , she is soo funny and IcOniC
Are we gonna ignore Yelena did the black widow pose and the guy at the bar just looked serious and didn't pull a strange face or laugh

When Black Widow has a bad ass younger sister *everyone likes that*
Loved her in this movie, she was fantastic.😊😍🤩
Yes, loved her. The way she just wanted her sister back, she was the movie for me.
Yelena's obsession for that vest and pockets was my most favourite part. The way she talks about it and give it away to Nat thinking she liked it is just gold🤣
She plays Russian superbly. And it's not just the accent. Intonation, behavior, a mixture of sarcasm and innocence. Excellent. I think it's entirely the merit of the actress.
I freaking LOVED HER in this movie! She was goofy and badass and adorable!
she’s so eastern european, the dry wit is what everyone loves
Florence/“Yelena” is freaking HILARIOUS!!! 😆 The “poser” scene had the theater erupting with laughter.😂
Funnier when you find out the "poser" joke was actually Florences way of teasing Scarlett and the writer liked it and included it in the script while they were already filming! Florence is brilliant.
All her lines were perfect, along with the accent!!!!
Yelena, Red Guardian, Melina, Sylvie, Mobius, John Walker, Monica, Agatha. Most the new characters in this phase have been freaking awesome.
Yes to Yelena, Red Guardian, Mobius & John Walker. The rest are a no to me, but cool to see others like them.
@@cram2979 The ones you didn't mention are definitely a tier below, but I still enjoyed them. Melina was cool, Agatha had a brilliant performance but the character still needs developing, and Monica has potential. Sylvie I disagree, really enjoyed her.
@@theviewer9305 Sylvies actions were moronic in episode 6, maybe that's why I'm eh about her
@@cram2979 Ah I get the actions. On one hand yes the Kang variant was doing what he did for the greater good, but on the other hand, he had been punning innocent timelines for millions of years including her own. She definitely hit the role perfectly!
Missed the scene where she sings miss American pie with red guardian.

2:20 she has steve's influence. Ugh the nostalgia. 😌
Her humor is always a 100/10
-Did you just steal the guy's car?
-So you want me to chase him down and unsteal it?

i’m actually in love with her
I love how she got goosebumps all over after trying out her big sis' landing pose. lol
There were so many good things about that movie; but she was my favorite. The sheer presence and attitude. Loved her.
She really was one of the best standouts to me. It’s a somewhat nice transition of the Widow mantle
I just hope her character is written this smartly when she moves into the other projects within the MCU. Love Yelena!
"I was just about to talk about fallopian tubes" is my second favorite MCU line
Are there any haters of her, I can't see anyone hating this character

She's gonna be famous after this for sure. She was amazing.
The actress and the writer both deserve a medal
I feel like yelena was what black widow should have been. Especially with the accent.
This movie actually explained Nat's American accent and the plot hole fell onto Yelena's. They're Russian sleeper agents, they're supposed to raised as Americans.

Florence Pugh has thoroughly convinced me that I need to make sure to see every Marvel movie after this in the theaters because the audience laughing at her lines is the best part.
She’s also a black widow, so she’ll be in the next series w Hawkeye. PSA: Black Widow is what they called their trained child-soldier assassins.
We know
They called them just Widows. Black Widow is a name only given to Natasha to differentiate her from the rest. Cause shes is most dangerous and lethal
