I've got a bone to pick with you, I spent 23 quid because of your great review of this aircraft. I downloaded it this afternoon and I've flown it for 3 hours, mainly in VR and quite frankly, after all that time I have to conclude...............I love it!!!!! Such a joy to fly! I remember when the Bandeirante first came out, yes I'm that old. I had a poster of it on my wall as a young kid. I couldn't believe it when I saw it was on MSFS and it certainly doesn't disappoint.

I was looking at the cockpit of a real 110 on RUclips the other day and I was surprised how close the sim model is as far as textures are concerned. I find it hard to criticise based on what I saw.

Gorgeous, I've been waiting for a steam-gauge twin that's bigger than a Seminole, and I remember thinking the 120 was cute! I did hear some complaints on the forums, but I agree with you, not every payware plane has to be up to PMDG 737 or Aerosoft CRJ standards, and honestly I wouldn't have the time or money to enjoy them if they were. I think this will be my next payware purchase.

Yeah, I wanted the 99 to be nice... but i wasn't expecting much. This I wasn't expecting, have always liked the look and regretted that before this we only had an old fs2004 one... this, is great :D

People can be quite critical at times.... in the grand scheme of things this is really nice, and honestly, the livery will be an easy fix by layering on top and using opacity effects to blend... so i dont worry. It flies great and puts a smile on my face.
@@AvAngel it’s nice to have full on realistic aircraft like the CRJ, but sometimes it’s just fun to fly something simple. I think this will make a great Caribbean island hopper.

Your pronunciation of 'Bandeirante' is correct. Bandeirante means something like 'flag-carrier', or you can call 'pioneer'. The aircraft is named after bandeirantes because it was the first Embraer model, so it was the 'pioneer' aircraft of Embraer.

Stunning scenery Rachael and what a great little plane, I have some very fond memories of that beautiful - no, cute little bird. You flew that well love, she’s way to big for that field and you got her down really well!
Yeah normally that field maxes out at Beach Kingair 200s, but once you can throw a plane around, it becomes a little easier to manage abnormal or shorter fields. I do so much bush flying this felt like I was weilding the chonka 207 around.

Love the review AvAngel. Your enthusiasm is so refreshing, and I like the honest personal views on what you consider important in "interesting" aircraft like this. I share your opinion and I would like to point out that this aircraft is only £22.99 from Just Flight at the moment, and so in my opinion "well worth a punt". There was also a patch released for it today which addressed a few issues.

Steam gauges and twin props: definitely interesting to me. However the price does seem a tad bit high, IMO.

I really love your reviews I was very much on the fence with this until I watched your review and I'm so pleased that I bought it(didn't hurt that I got it for a good deal less than I expected). It might be the most stable plane that I have flown in MSFS and is a bunch of fun. Only three things provide minor clouds to the whole thing for me. 1, As you point out those rivets are annoying(and I texture my own planes so its kind of something I look at). 2, It sounds like a hover-mower. 3, EMB seem to have their own logic when it comes to cockpit layout!!! As someone that put a by far my most hours in X-Plane-10/11 in an E-170 I didn't think it would be so confusing(who for the love of god puts the Autopilot on the floor and the prop sync and autofeather at opposite ends of the Engines & Avionics Panel!!!)
You can fix the rivets by using multiply or other effect layers on them in the paint kit then they blend nicely... gg. sounds... could be better... and 3.. ROFL quite but that's the plane for you!

Superb bit of flying there! That was one of the most intriguing approaches I have ever seen. You made it look breezy. I would probably be scraping myself off the side of one of the mountains. LOL. I'll have to take a look at this one.

I absolutely love this aircraft! I'm suffering from a constant clicking sound from the landing gear lever, but they've fixed that in a patch. I just can't seem to get the updated version by downloading it again, per their instructions. Quite a few of us can't seem to resolve that issue according to comments on their FB. I can't fly it until that's fixed, but I still love the aircraft.

I've found a couple of your videos and really enjoyed them so far I wanted to say!
I'm still near the start and watching but hoping you will touch on some of the concepts I am less familiar with like fuel balancing with crossfeed during cruise, leaning / enriching during climb, cruise, decent, prop power, and auto-feathering. XD
I've not done many particular tutorial videos on flightsim but its not a bad idea... This aircraft is simply a first look review which is typically what I do... kick the tires sort of deal. But Its not a bad thing to look into.

One of the aircraft I was waiting for, thanks for bringing this to our attention. As always you have given us a professional objective review as opposed to most of the other RUclipsrs who seem content to trash the aircraft purely for the sounds. Unfortunately NextGen don't seem to have matched the version Dreamfoil brought out for XPlane11 however and for that reason I'm probably going to pass on it for the time being
I've never been an Xplane user myself, so our only offering was an old 04 model, so this is a lovely aircraft, and the developers already dropped an update, so its got potential to go much much further as they're listening to feedback very much so.

I particularly appreciate your going around instead of crash landing it. The aircraft doesn’t look too bad but it doesn’t look too good either; I rate it a solid meh. Too expensive for what it offers. At half the asking price I would have to think about it hard.
For me it’s a perfect fit for my longer flights and about as big a plane as I enjoy... typically smaller bush types mostly.... this one for me fills a perfect niche that has often been overlooked... aircraft that service more remote areas
@@AvAngel Definitely slots in well between the Arrow III and the Citation for me! (and I really should get more practice in the Citation before I even think about buying the CRJ)

@@AvAngel I hope your experience is better than mine! I bought it on sale and I get 50% of my normal frames with this thing. They say it's because they use tons of XML gauges but rather than modernize with HTML or WASM it seems they're waiting on Asobo to do something about it. Audible looping on the engine too. It's a bummer because I really want to love this thing but the performance is unforgiveable given how buttery smooth even the DC-6 is in the cockpit.
Nah, xml gauges don't do jack, they have negligable impact, didn't in fsx either. I didn't see any issues with it tbh, engine sound yes...
@@AvAngel They acknowledged XML gauges were causing FPS issues in their roadmap update, but that said it's probably up to a specific system, too. I'm using a pretty aging GPU at this point (1080) so it might affect my system more than others. I am chatting with them about the RPM needles seeming to not react once in-flight now. It's got so much promise, definitely looking forward to the last few kinks getting worked out.

Hello Angel 👼🏻 Could you please make a video how to navigate/operate NDB for this airplane. I flew all New Zealand 🇳🇿 NZRC-NZKT, 850NM but couldn’t remember how to use NDB, is it even available in this aircraft ? Landing at NZKT you fly over a NDB, fly 2 minutes, do a turn and land. I turned off AP and landed without any aid. It worked fine, but NDB would have been useful for guidance.
Would it be possible to revisit and give this a "second look" after the latest update?

I like this plane. Not as cheap as i'd like, needs a few bug fixes and some texture redos but its fun! I do love the more sim-focused planes of the past in other sims but since I moved over to MSFS this has been great. CRJ and JF Arrow are a blast to fly but this is great. It's not that in depth, needs a few updates for bugs/textures but it's a fun bird to fly. People get too critical. NexGen is kind of new and certainly new to MSFS. They will update the plane. Remember, even with the more "experienced" developers made some planes and there were plenty of bugs. The CRJ could hardly follow an ILS GS without dumping itself into the river. Fixed? Yeah, now it is. Still oscillates during cruise though. Hell the JF Arrow, after initial release, rattled around at idle like a rabid hamsters in a cage! Both of these were not that much more expensive than this one. All I am saying is give it time, they will fix some of these issues. I appreciate your honest review instead of just bashing like several of them have already. I guess people stab fun for a few "likes" I think
Speak of the Devil. They have are rolling out the updates now. Check the updater. Fastest update I've seen yet from any dev from any simulator.
Definitely a happy medium between the slow but otherwise perfect Arrow and the more complicated and "formal" CRJ, and a better match than the CRJ for the type of flying I find the most relaxing. When I feel like learning to fly a passenger jet by the book, there's plenty of depth in the perfectly free Working Title mod for the Citation CJ4.

Any chance I can find out what graphics/scenery mods and settings you use? Your graphics are stunning! The bushes and trees, the brush and dirt coming up to the runway and dirt? How you do that?
I use no graphics mods here, and this is a default scenery for the ultimate edition of the sim as far as I know. This is one of their hand crafted airports.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry, although I love the E110, it's was a big disappointment from my point of view. It looks very good but that's it. Systems and sound working like a toy. Torque, ITT, N1 and N2 completely wrong. The developer should work the bugs before selling this product. The sim for X Plane, in contrast works almost like the real thing, (which I flew in the 70s).
Should i get this or the Aerosoft Twin Otter???

Perhaps, but the EMB 120 is stupidly popular around the world... I'm just happy to finally see one other than the old fs2004 model. I quite like its appearance.
Embraer is finally beginning to make some inroads with their jets at least, I love the 170 and the Phenom.
Where did you get the info that it's the most popular and successful plane Embraer has ever made? Because both the ERJ, E-Jet and Legacy series have had more aircraft built. And if it was meant to be interpreted as the single model that has been the most sold the E190 and E175 have more models that were built.
This however was and is used for decades all over a continent and other parts of the world. Actually higher numbers than the new models

Actually ok mostly, and tbh after end of July most of the performance crap will be the history of this sim... even with a powerful rig its been touch and go, but overall its been more than playable. Flightsims, over 30? happy.

On the strength of the first 6 mins of this review, this is another bird that doesn't pass the visual sniff test; that panel looks very much like a port-over, as does all the detailing around the cabin windows. Two levels of addons have quickly established themselves: Those who recognize how high the new sim has set the bar for addon quality, and those that don't and keep pushing middling kind of work into the marketplace. This thing and the forthcoming Milviz Corsair, for example, are very definitely not in the same league. Better developers have made better commuter twins for FSX and XP11; I'm waiting for their work.
True in some ways but also not so. The price at launch I would agree with you in some ways but it's really not that bad. For one, it's not the "other" particular developer that we all know that loves to pump planes out endlessly in this sims and previous sims. Carenado... I think they're trying to improve though. They've gotten a lot of feedback. For NextGen, however...they are not the same. They are relatively new to the game and obviously new to MSFS. I do like this Emb 110. It is a fun plane to fly, has quite a bit of function surprisingly, handles well but some of the textures could use some work. NextGen has gotten the feedback and are wanting to make some changes and updates. It's easy to be critical but I would prefer to spend a few dollars for someone newer to the field and wanting to change. Make them better etc. More competition. I am not holding my breath for Majestic of PMDG. Hell, even Aerosoft still needs to fix their buggy CRJ. Even the Just Flight Arrow received its second large update since release. Even Carenado is improving their planes. They usually make good-looking but less functioning planes. They are trying to change that around. Give them a chance.
This strikes me as having serious potential,.. and unless this was in xplane there have been nearly no renditions of this busy airplane . Perhaps my standard for visuals can tolerate a little lower if it’s got the performance and behaviour down. Is it perfect? No but unlike carenado this feels developed with love not greed
@@AvAngel Yeah, a lot of flight sim people are too serious or uppity about a hobby. There are plenty of people who fly fairly advanced planes for a simulator, even real commercial pilots who train others for example, who will still enjoy a more subtle and simpler aircraft. This one is great. They're new. The original commenter made a claim about "Better developers have made better commuter twins for FSX and XP11" and of course they're correct. They're correct because FSX was released a long while back, XP11 was released around 2017 and many of these planes for XP11 were made even as far back as XP9. Same with FSX. In other words, they've had YEARS of trial and error. This sim hasn't been out for a year. You think those others didn't suffer from the likes of Carenado?

Did you just start those turbo prop engines, with the fuel control levers ON?? #HotStart_DeadEngine On any turbo prop, except FADEC-driven units, fuel must only be introduced once the N2 fans are spinning; so that when combustion occurs, the fans are already spinning and the excessive torque won't melt the engine core. When fuel is introduced without the fans already spinning, the sudden pressure on the engine causes a huge heat surge and will almost always melt the core. This is known as a hot start.

It has a very disturbing engine sound! It sounds like a very low cubic inch engine, even if it's just a remote control model. A very, very badly hit engine sound, and if it's like that in real life, it's terrible.

You have to remember I'm flying these planes in these reviews for the first time :P You can't be proficient in a type the first time you fly it, this is considered one of the most dangerous approaches in the world due to the confinement. I think I did just fine.
