Hello everyone, and Welcome to The Market on State, formerly known as the University Mall in Athens Ohio! Opening in the 1980s of the University Mall, the property would do fairly well for the Athens region. However, by the early 2000s, the mall would be struggling with 2 empty anchors. By the 2010s, the mall would receive many additions in the form of local businesses and community services. Today, it remains under the name “The Market on State” and remains as a community center for the Athens region. Let’s take a walk through this vintage mall, and see what it holds in the store for us!

I like the mall a lot too! It’s modern, without feeling too modern. It’s still got that vintage touch, but doesn’t feel outdated!

Very steady, smooth camera work. It feels like I'm walking with you. Some channels have such choppy, jerky video. It gives me a headache. So I don't subscribe to them.
