Luka is the most pure basketball player in the league today. No gimmicks, no flukes, and no dramatic mental games. He just wants to score. He should be the NBA logo.

As Luka said in some interwiev: It's easier to score 25+ per game in the NBA than in Europe superleague. And thats only because of defending restrictions in NBA. Isolation in NBA is only for fans. Its against the sport of basketball imho. 😃

Watch how he sets up the spin by bumping the defender once, causing him to brace and poke out his upperbody so he could leverage Luka with his base. Luka hits him with the first to get him thinking he'll do it again when he goes into the same back down motion. Luka rolls off the defender's expected brace, causing him to miss and get too far out of position to stop this layup. The tricky part--to put it lightly--is that Luka will do the same thing on a different possession, except he'll actually bump the guy a second time and go into one of four counter, OR he'll just fade over either shoulder, OR he'll dropstep inside and headfake to set up the up and under. You can see him switching up counters 4-5 times a game.

I don't mind him taking his time and being slow with the ball, but his literal inability to move quick once in a while even without the ball is killing his team. It's not like he's 30 and can't train for speed in the offseason
He is the team. Sorry but he needs some rest sometimes. Even when on the court. 4 other guys do very limited work on the offensive end and are there for defense.

@@OhmyZephyrus He still shoots 8 3s a game and he hasn't ever hit higher than 35% on them. He isn't yet great at them, mix that in with having to do too much, bad shot selection, etc and this is the result. His ability to shoot from mid range is far superior, he needs to take even more than he does now. Kidd is alresdy doing a good job getting him in the post, my point is Luka himself needs to seek these opportunities even more and not revert to shooting step back 3s until he improves on them.
