We need to ship o-max and maxi, Powell, Gortman, Willams, edwards players that are young and have value to teams that are building. as well as picks and get a solid defender as a backup to P.J

I think they are totally different function player.
    1. Grimes is like COMBO GUARD, and he can learn from Kyrie, I think he has potential like Brunson.
    2. Hardy is more like pure SHOOTING GUARD, and he can learn from Klay, because he is fully concentrated in shooting, but as ball handler not enough stable, as we know the truth is he didn’t have enough chance to handle the ball, in recent games you definitely can tell that he is good catch and shoot shooter, if he could improve his cut and defense, he definitely has potential to be a player that every team needs.
    3. Comparing their function, I think Hardy is more like Klay, even they are in different position, and Grimes shows that he can perform well on both defense and offense, so if MAVS wants to trade, Hardy might be the asset for trading.
    4. If there didn’t have suitable targets for trading and upgrading, just keep both of them. They both have high potential to become great players in the league.

Grimes choosing to opt out if his contract is a scary roll of dice if they choose to let go of Hardy with the Maxi trade.
My first thought: As much as I’d like to keep Grimes and Hardy, Hardy is inconsistent (but also two yrs younger). So trade him along with Maxi.
2nd thought: Seeing how Grimes chose to opt out he MAY choose to leave the team anyway because a team is offering stardom contract that the mavs can’t match. So that would suck if the Mavs trade Hardy AND lose Grimes at the end of the season… Rough dilemma.
