- How to use the clamp meter to measure amperage. Also using the voltmeter and ohmmeter on the tool.
This video is part of the heating and cooling series of training videos made to accompany my websites: www.graycoolingman.com and www.grayfurnaceman.com to pass on what I have learned in many years of service and repair. If you have suggestions or comments they are welcome.
If you are a homeowner looking to repair your own appliance, understand that the voltages can be lethal, the fuels are highly flammable and high pressures are used. Know your limits. - Хобби
“One wire only in the clamp” 👍 KISS principles for the win!
Meters seem to be the hardest to learn but the most useful when you understand. Happy troubleshooting.

Awesome video on the inductive amp clamp. Thanks
Excellent presentation. Thank you, very much.
Really good. Thank you. I like the presentation style with great demonstrations.
Thanks for posting this. Good information for a diy beginner.
Well done, easy to lern from a guy like you....thank you... you just got a new follower

good info...
THANK YOU
Thank you sir
The trend is for true RMS. I suppose there is some higher accuracy, but I can find little difference. As for the 116 vs 16, the 16 is no longer available so the only choice is the 116.

I do a bit of handyman stuff around the house, not much into AC work, but use the meter for testing batteries and electrical work. I'd use it more if I understood the thing better - so I've been viewing your channel.
My question:
When you were in the ohms position the meter (like mine) buzzes when there is continuity. You tested 3 things, The unit buzzed for two of the there, However when you testes the relay (the item with the larges resistance) there was no buzz. Why?
You have such a wonderful gift of helping other people. Thank you so much!

The upside down U is omega.
I have a fluke 117 seems to be a pretty good little meter.
If you are working with HVAC, the 117 does not have some features you will need. Namely DC microamps.

grayfurnaceman That's true
This is attention countermeasures!
great video.I have fluke 902.showing CAL& buzzing now.How to reset it?
Beats me. I would talk to fluke

Hi grayfurnaceman .. I've watched most of your videos, really enjoyed them and learn something new. May I ask for your opinion about "TRUE RMS" in the current fluke meter, ie Fluke 116 (old model Fluke 16) and so on. Is it necessary buy, let's say, Fluke 116 over Fluke 16 because of True RMS? Thank you for your time!!!!!
wow my favorite thing about this meter is it can read amps without breaking the circuit but i cant afford a Fluke brand, whats the cheapest clamp volt meter that that works well that you would recomend?, thanks!
+RUclips Tv There are several brands such as Amprobe or Klein that made middle of the road meters that may serve your purpose. No recommendations here.

UTL by UEI. Like 40 bucks. Reads amps etc. Also has a voltage detector.
Please increase the back light for
You sound like Dr. Z! You must be Dr. Z but I didn't hear "Hello my viewers"... What's grayfurnaceman if indeed you are Dr. Z?
I am not Dr Z. Thanks for the comparison though.
GFM
I DO NOT BELIEVE IT! There is now way you're not Dr. Z. Come on!
I just went through your videos. You do sound a little different upon close inspection. You don't show your face in any of your videos or at least the ones that I've seen but now that you said it you do sound different but you both have the same style of slow speaking in an explanatory manner. Good videos. Thank you.
Track Hack I will take that as a compliment as Dr Z does very good videos.
GFM
Its the 333. I dont believe its made anymore.
GFM
Do you know the difference between the fluke 322 and 333?
AlmightyKing2556 11 digits?haha
😎💯💯💯🌟🌟🌟👍
why do u say u use both the fluke 333 and the fluke 16. when the fluke 333 seems to do what the fluke 16 does.
+Arnold Navarro The Fluke 333 does not have a megohm meter and does not have a microamp meter for testing flame rods. Hope this helps.

hey i want to learn as much as i can from you. i hope you dont mind me asking you more questions in the future and i appriciate all the workk and videos you have uploaded. where do you think i should start? i have a pretty basic understanding as far as refrigeration cycle and i also have a universal cercification. but i cant really afford any school at the moment so watching your videos will lay a pretty good foundation for the moment thanks. Tomas.
+Arnold Navarro Ask all you want. You can also checkout my website: grayfurnaceman.com I have more there.

so this meter doesn't measure DC ??
It can't be used as a DC clamp meter. It will work in the voltage mode.
GFM
slowwww ack.
I don't even know what ac means
Alternating current. The power available in most homes.

@@grayfurnaceman hello electrical man I’m trying to find a apprenticeship in the uk I’m 26 do you have any advice for me
First, I would get some schooling in electrical. Then you can apply with something on your resume.
