@@BURNaJAE stop being stupid, please 🥺
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, moved away for a while and am now back here. What you don't realize is that the areas where this interview was shot offer very few opportunities. It can be hard to be positive or stay positive in an environment we don't see a lot of positivity. Besides the fact that there aren't a lot of opportunities for growth you have these gangs that unfortunately influence the children so the cycle continues. I'm not Saying everyone doesn't rise above the situation but the majority doesn't. So do us all a favor and don't diss people that are born into a situation that can sometimes be difficult to get out of.
All of that being said those areas are a very small portion of Jacksonville. Jacksonville is the largest city area wise in the United States. So there are a lot of areas in this city that that video did not represent, thank God. I was working in that moncrief area one time and got car jacked with my dog in the car. Unfortunately they didn't let her out when they let me out of the car. Fortunately I walked all night and got back to the area where I had been working and the people that carjacked me were from. I called the cops and as I waited on them to show I saw a guy pulling into the gas station across the street in my vehicle. As a matter of fact it was the gate station that was mentioned in this video. I ran over there and stood behind the car as the guy was getting ready to pull out and I told him he would have to shoot me in broad daylight to get me to move. I was hoping that my dog was still in the back of the SUV. unfortunately she was not and when I asked him where she was he told me they had given her to a guy that fights dogs, for bait.. at The hilltop apartments. I got my car back and I went looking for her and I damn near got killed while doing so. Fortunately she raised hell when they kicked me out of the car so they opened the door and let her out, she came looking for me but couldn't find me. She wandered around that neighborhood for a couple of days looking for me with her leash still on and finally some wonderful person called animal control and they picked her up. She was microchipped and I had been checking every day for her and on the third day found her. it's a very scary area of town but thankfully there are areas that are wonderful. Unfortunately our governor right now sucks so it's not the"free state"that he claims it is but he won't be here forever. So anyone who wants to visit our Fair City please just be aware to stay away from the hoods and enjoy our beaches, the San Marco area, the Murray Hill area all of which have wonderful restaurants and bars and you can feel comfortable walking down the street to different establishments. Also our downtown area is being revitalized and has a lot to offer.. also St Augustine is only 40 minutes south and it is the oldest city in the United States and very much worth visiting.
There are also indoor and outdoor arenas for concerts, plays to see and of course our unfortunately failing jaguars play in a beautiful stadium. There are charter boats for fishing and the St Johns River offers a lot of activities.
Unfortunately those gangs are a reality of our city, our inner City but fortunately Jacksonville offers a lot of entertainment whether it be skiing in the St John's or laying on the beach. Taking the walking tour of some of our oldest neighborhoods and their beautiful homes or checking out the nightlife in those same neighborhoods. Jacksonville has grown into a really nice city and worth visiting.

The children in the beginning being so knowledgeable and opinionated on just straight violence literally within a block or two from where they lay their heads is so inspiring and also terrible at the same time. It feels sad to watch children develop a STRONG and unfiltered opinion that even other adults within the same video feel too paranoid to even express. The true insight of these types of videos that always hits me is how the kids react and who they are, despite their own environment. Seeing kids have more of a plan for their current situation, because of their naivety, hope for change, and negligence towards having to filter themselves, over actual grown adults who have lived in the environment for probably multiple years, should really be studied and harnessed because its both incredible and depressing at the same time.

The kids 5 minutes in are amazing, it's not fair they have to deal with that. They're so clear headed! I wish them the best.

I usually don't watch brandon and some of his content I don't like but this is actually awesome, like an actually interesting youtube video on something I wanted to know not dumb clickbait shit or people fucking around in a town no one cares about.

@@tb5898yeah idk about that. I lived in the hood foe a few years and we were the literally the only white kids which made people think we were esay targets. We weren't, but that didn't mean trouble didn't still find us a lot of times.
