Emma Stone is a different type of actress. She stands out in a class all her own. Nobody else I have ever seen has such expressive eyes or can really convey emotions on screen like she can. She's incredibly talented and incredibly alluring.
This is a fantastic interview! Whenever you would push her for an opinion (what's your favourite performance of yours?) and she would not want to answer, you would withdraw immediately. So nice to see interviewers being so nice and human to their interviewees :)
you nailed it. this is one of the most outstanding interviewers i have seen. he clearly has tremendous insights into her, her industry, hollywood in general. he brought out even more of the shining star that is Emma Stone. i think she really enjoyed it. i know i did.
I've watched and listened to the Birdman one over 100 times and now there's THIS. My life is so much better now I LOVE your interviews with Emma Stone!
This makes me so excited because you're such a great interviewer and I've been waiting for you both to talk again now that Emma is actually in the academy! I am literally SHAKING and buzzing with excitement because this movie is so incredible, especially Emma. Sorry I'm gonna actually watch this interview now, I really just need to share how happy this makes me feel. :)
Sherlane Yuen BIRDMAN is one of those films that if you love it, you'll remember the *whole* words that spoken in the film. Same case to Pulp Fiction, The Shaws hank Redemption, The Dark Knight, Schindler List, Whiplash, and The Wolf Of Wall Street.
Great, now I have to rewatch that interview once again before watching this. But I'm not even mad, that interview literally made me fall in love with her for a day or two.
Keep up the great videos, it is seriously so motivating and inspiring listening to someone ask professionals 'good' questions that lead to deep answers and not asking the same questions that everyone else is asking that they've had to answer 1000 times before.
i just subscribed to this channel. he has many interviews and i hope some of them are half as good as this one. i expect there is gold in them thar videos.
Really good interview! Especially love the part where she talked about not taking compliments very personal. Always wondered how she or actors in general think about these comments.
How could she looks so mature? I love her even more. This time, as a professional in cinema. Birdman and La La Land. And next she'll adds Battle Of The Sexes, The Favourite, and Cruella. What a career.
Emma Stone is so funny, beautiful, kind, natural, talented, funny (I know I already said but I said it twice because thats how funny she is) and amazing! She's the best actress ever!
I love battle of the sexes it’s one of my favorite films of all time! it’s always so exciting when she talks about it because you can just tell how rewarding and impactful that experience was on her, and that she really loved doing it
haha I bet emma reads the comments. with regards to not taking peoples affection for a character personally I would say it depends on whether youre projecting a character from what you know could exist somewhere out there in the world, or from what you know though in a different context does exist in you. I like that she embraces critical reflection, shes ok with being a realist and is not just seeking as many happy comments from anywhere, shes actually judging the validity of other people's positivity towards her. it's a good place to start from.
@@davidpoland7404 No, this is sincere. I watched both interviews and he manages to put her at ease, engage in light banter without getting sidetracked. Obviously, he's got substantial experience in this role, but given how bland or contrived these discussions often become, it is a bowl of fresh air. This comes second only to Emma's Actor on Actor with Bradley Cooper.
apple-sauce Yep. i find Emma now has more fans & some are saying 'she reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence'. Im just... ive followed emma since 2007. homegirl has had this same charming, hilarious and witty personality since i first watched her interviews. she was 19. if you ask me personally jlaw reminds me of emma - lols.
Honestly Jenn was quite humbled and endearing for a time, specifically her climbing time during Winter's Bone. It seems she's inevitably changed though. It's all just smoke and mirrors we see anyway so who knows. No doubt Emma's charm seems effortless and genuine no matter where she is.
Jennifer is having bad time with the icloud and stuff and it shows in her interviews ,i guess she is angry and scared from all that but i hope ppl not compare actresses because in a few years you will come here and put down emma stone comparing with another actress. shame on you.
One of the best interviews with Emma at this press tour. She seems quite relaxed and comfortable here, and questions are nice. But maybe its just the beginning, now she looks very tired of all sorts of questions about LaLaLand after 4 month of these.
If you drop the speed to 0.25, her voice goes sub-sonic which I'm certain is setting off earthquakes in Peru or Indonesia. And, for anyone who thinks I'm poking fun at her, just know that I'm doing my best to do whatever I can to avoid from having her be so infectiously adorable, which you've probably realized, is nearly impossible.
I soooo enjoyed this "interview" & I think that's b/c it felt like a real-regular conversation & I got to be part of it just by listening to the story their conversation created. The interviewer's knowledge & respect re:the crafts involved in making a movie and his ability to listen reflectively--plus his intermittent humor-responses--really engaged them both in the process. I learned about aspects of movie-making & acting from both of them thru the flow of their exchange. Unusual to me/for me--this is the rare kind of "interview" a person can watch repeatedly--ironically like you can watch a movie again:) Who is the interviewer? And how do I find their prior interview-conversation they referenced here? Thanks.
@@dp30 You're most welcome. Thanks for replying. Thing is, I figured the referenced interview is on DP/30 page & looked there--but as you note, it is amongst a kazillion others & I was (am) hoping someone could tell me its title/give link so I can find it in the DP/30-proverbial-page-haystack of listings in this lifetime-ish. Thanks again.
Are there spoilers in this?? I wont finish watching it until I know...sometimes he talks about plot points and sometimes he doesnt. Love the interviews- just don't want La La Land to be spoiled!!!
She seems quite natural and unaffected, I wonder if she really is such a nice person. I kinda like her a lot, never heard of her before starting to watch Ryan Gosling fils, but I like her and I like her with Ryan G. they have a nice chemistry.
''Is that how you came up''? Well, im just an A list actreess and have already been nominated to the oscars and golden globes, but yeah, I suppose that's why they considered me for this movie.
panocasabe Birdman for what she got Oscar nominated, was not even out yet (or at least not nominated yet) when she was asked for La la land. So that reasoning is invalid.
Her blonde roots are so obvious here, it’s so cute 😂 It’s crazy to think she’s not a natural red head. Between the pale, porcelain skin, light freckles and giant green eyes, it’s like she was born to be a redhead.
Emma seems really nice. Birdman was awesome and so was everyone in the film. La La Land bet is great but not into musical s. Sound of Music was awesome even tho it's not my genre...classic iconic film that was . My mum saw sound of music seven times in theatre/cinema
Careful not to fall victim to entropy is a thought I'm thinking, but The rise, fall and the long way down accentuated by the flight of icarus. I think it's important to be open-minded with a variety of capabilities. The capacity to balance health and wellness seems to be a good priority.

A diamond in the rough
Amanda Seyfried has great eyes also
I ran into her twice at this year's festival. always nice to see genuine people
Yeah, half an hour later I realize... Yup, still in love with her.
I fell in love with this movie. Rooting for Emma to win an Oscar
Her voice ..... SHE'S SO PERFECT !
Emma never stops surprising me. She just keeps getting better and better in her career.
I've never clicked on a video so quickly before. I'm sooooooo excited for this movie
Tony Chen legit same I've been waiting for like foreverrrrrrr
I check if I can already buy tickets for it about each day

I was about to comment on our thread on the Birdman one to ask if you had seen this one yet! Now we have a new interview to watch 10 times a week!
Love it! These genuine interviews just never get old :)

When she mentioned the helicopter joke from the other interview i actually screamed. XD

So goddamn endearing. And goes without saying, great interview per usual and this channel is vastly underrated
there's gonna be a time when i get sick of rewatching this interview
but every time i see her face on the thumbnail i just can't help my self
i've seen this interview 20 times
i love the frame
she has such a great face it genuinely comforting

he's back, and amazing as always
Those eyes. That smile. So pretty
She's so mature for such a young age. She should be a role model for others.
She is , actually . Go and take a look at what she's done with the Child Mind Institute . Very inspiring for kids who have troubles in life !
i just came here to watch emma stone interviews!

thank you so much! what a great interview as always. emma is such an inspiring joy. can't wait to finally see la la land!
This movie has one of the greatest endings I have ever seen!
"They're all garbage" hahah she's the best!!
Really good interview!
Especially love the part where she talked about not taking compliments very personal. Always wondered how she or actors in general think about these comments.
I love that she basically acknowledged that Aloha was bad lol

She's just a joy!

I love Emma's outfit here and that retro lemon dress she wore at TIFF.

god damn. she is fucking cute. She is my future wife.
17:30 Haha! She nailed it on that question!
I love Emma!! I think she did a great job with the movie ❤
Congrats to Emma on winning the Oscar for Best Actress !
Emma seems like a wonderful person, so down to earth
This is everything I wanted it to be
Watching Emma define her own voice her Achilles's heel melt my heart, cause it's actually really beautiful! I love that smooth lisp she has
I'll be waiting for that musical
the Academy Award for Best Actress is well-deserved
FRICKIN' ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

already watched it
Such a talented interviewer. Emma is a gem of a person, but this guy has developed wittiness and insight as an art form onto its own.

Way more charming than Jennifer Lawrence
Completely agree. She seems like a genuinely humble & lovely person.
Is she the one who acts obnoxious and we're all supposed to find it endearing?

I got an ad for La La Land before this video.
Love the outfit. Must be Chanel.
