Rest in Peace John McGeoch, gone way too soon!
Just to listen to the sublime John McGeoch on that lead guitar sends shivers down my spine, a band without equals, a guitarist supremely gifted who deserves the ultimate recognition. Wow what great music 👍
John McKay should also get more recognition since he was their original guitarist and he created this sound. Him and Kenny Morris left the band in 79 after their second album just released.
Frusciante's hero! :
He absolutely shreds on this.
RIP John
Amo a originalidade da Siouxsie
Uma Br ahhh
Amo a Siouxsie muchas gracias...
Siouxsie cropped dusted Budgie at 2:05 and it was love after that
Easily the most attractive nose in music (apart from Chopin's....obviously)
shes pretty much my role model
McGeoch, Budgie, Siouxsie, Severin. A supergroup IMHO. Here at their best.
Electric stuff. You can hear the contribution of each musician, coupled with The Queen of Punk.
Robert Smith not a patch on John McGeoch
Love it! Wish I was young again and back in the 80's!
Mcgeoch was class
The guy is just on a different level, nobody to touch him doing this stuff, sheer brilliance.
@@brendan1522 John McKay wrote the riff tho 🤘🤘
Siouxsie and the Banshees at there brilliant best, cant get onto the next track, keep replaying this over and over.
I saw the Banshees twice, and they sound better live than in the studio.
Saw them at Lolapalooza #1. She was a stand out in a line up of all stars!
@hmm I wish but in 1991 no smartphones and I didn't own a video cam, but like Ian said it's like they're way more intense live.
Time machines now please.
her voice was so strong,wow.
This is great - she's like an exotic bird, hard to take your eyes off her.. Great energy. It's supposedly about her having been brought up above a Chinese takeaway in Chislehurst and the "would you like number 23, leave your yen on the counter please" alludes to that, as does "chicken chow mein and chop suey...". Love it.
It was made in response to the skinhead racists that would hassle Chinese takeaway workers.
Thank you for uploading this! Love Siouxsie And The Banshees!!!
Best live version I have heard. I forgot just what a great line-up this was, from back to front, perfection.
Two-chord brilliance!
I wish she had taken better care of her voice. Ahhh when youre young, you think youre indestructable.
Or smarter than the rest
Brilliant song... Amazing performance... Good times. Glad I was brought up with this kind of music. Better than the old pony that's out now.
Only idiote disliked THAT performance!!
She was so hot. Still is tbh.
thank you for posting,nice channel
Wonder why they couldn't have John back on board after he recovered from his exhaustion not judging just wondering he was so amazing
Class.
In my Top Five Favorite All Time.
What I wouldn´t give to be there
Love her unicursular hexagram t-shirt.
No sound???????
Class 🎸
🇧🇷🖤
At 1:53 it's like a sonic boom just goes off. The drums and guitar just form a sound, where I feel in that moment, they were at their absolute peak. I cannot even find the words to match the emotion I feel, when McGeoch lets out that screech at 2:32. John, you were such a pioneer. An innovator. Irreplaceable. 🎸🎵🎶
what a voice
John McGeoch didnt just play a guitar, He gave it a voice. I absolutely love his tone.
I Just noticed the star of David on her T shirt... and this was a gig in Germany.....
I wonder if Siouxsie yearned for the band's original drummer on this number?
Ahhh. My first love❤️❤️
I wish I had already lived in the late 70s or 80s...
Today nearly everything is music to easily available.
I totally get it, like a rite of passage to earn your tribal colour in physically travelling and hunting out ‘hard to get’ music in records shops, flea markets, bootleg dealers, concerts, that’s sadly disappearing. Everything is at kids fingertips now, great I one way, but a double edged sword...
I did the music scene was amazing it went from prog to punk the new wave in a couple of years amazing time to be a music fan
@@Pulsonar You couldn’t have said it any better. Don’t forget that this accessibility probably also benefits smaller/up and coming artist but I feel like it makes music less valuable
@@urbanumbra6170 Yes, true, that’s the unfortunate trade-off for us as consumers in this era. We lose that priceless traditional music lovers environment, but as you mentioned struggling artistes trying to make a name for themselves will at least benefit from the ease of access to music marketing and networking facilities as a professional to make headway in their careers.
Siouxsie's dad? John Peel.
Political Funk
Pure
Unapologetic
Brilliant
Awesome band! Wish they came to the U.S. more!
HAPPT BIRTHDAY SIOUXIE SIOUX!!!
Is this even possible????
LMAO! So true!!!!
Supposedly this song is sort of an answer to skinhead racism, but I think some of the lyrics are a little sketchy.
Only in your mind...
Are they trying to look chinese ?
Each of these Musicians are On their Game! Outstanding! 🎸 🎸 🥁
