Nuking humanity for the aliens in Terra Invicta (Servants/Brutal) E4

- It is 2030. In China, the Resistance has nailed their colours to the mast and prepared a great last stand in defence of humanity. Millions of troops are mobilised, and the nation, as well as its allies around the world, prepares to resist the Hydra invasion. They represent some of the bravest defenders of Earth's right to self-determination.
Our job is to crush them in the name of the invading force.
It was a long, peaceful break - free from the obligations of betraying humanity. But the series must survive, and the Servants must prevail, China must fall, and I must never allow my fans to pick a playthrough by poll ever again.
Perun's barely disguised admiration for how often the AI is shooting Servant's counsellors is admirable.

Perun TI fans as we are kneeling and our arms reaching out: It has been 3,000 years.
The only thing more painful than doing a Servants episode is having to record it twice! (I'm mostly joking, I love the game regardless, but playing the Servants will never not feel a bit wrong)

Russian 2: "Wait, he playings of game he like on RUclipss... Something 'Terra Invicta.' He hatings of one faction 'Servants' muchings. How about we becomings of members to channel and forcing him to play as them? Cause much emotional damage."
In all seriousness, I really enjoy your Terra Invicta playthroughs - even as the Servants which is just such a strange faction. I hope you consider a Protectorate or Initiative playthrough in the future, because not very many people seem to play those factions. (And from what I recall the Protectorate faction goal is... quite odd... with them wanting to "cooperate" with the aliens by... building massive orbital defense platforms and threatening to destroy both aliens and humans alike... About as naive and weird as the Academy in some ways.)
@@PerunGamingAU Could be worse, you could be playing as the Protectorate, at least the Servants have a sense of self worth lol
Terra Invicta does seem to be the game to play if you ever want to inadvertently get yourself cancelled. Case in point, American troops stampeding over Africa to enslave the populace for our cruel alien Overlords. 😮😮😮
I am truly afraid of anyone who would play the Servants without a healthy dose of self-awareness and chagrin. (Hail Hydra?)
@@matchesburn Russian 3: "Komrades, why do we not make him play as Zhe Protektorate?"
Russian 1 and Russian 2: "NYET!"
Russian 1 : "Pavel, stop with the fucking Komrades business, this isn't 1950."
Russian 2 : "And besides, we have standards. We want to cause emotional damage, not outright torture!"
Seriously though, this makes me want to see Perun play a Protectorate campaign....
... and then a Resistance Phoenix campaign.
But yeah, the Initiative are basically high functioning American Psychos and fit, while the Protectorate, well.. they start out that way and then go downhill.
Request to play as The Resistance and gun for the Phoenix achievement, which requires you to play and win as the Resistance after the Servants or The Protectorate have met their win conditions.
Addendum, probably want to do this on cinematic mode (easiest). No need to make Perun suffer more than necessary.
@@dyingearth his suffering is the goal
Honestly, considering how few people have played as the Protectorate or the Initiative I'd prefer to see those playthroughs instead.
@@matchesburn who is playing exodus?

I know that its easy to get burned out playing games for RUclips - but I'd like to throw in my vote for the resurrection of Terra Invicta gameplay videos!
It has certainly been a while, thanks for returning to this series.
I agree! I would also like more of the guides for Terra Invicta.
@6:45 "I'm the problem, it's me" ...well I never thought I'd be hearing Taylor Swift quotes in a Terra Invicta run.
Yay. The amount of rolling eyes and hand holding you need to give to these suuuper advanced aliens is just hilarious.
It feels like the Sgt helping that really overly promoted 1st LT find his backside. It's funny!

25:00. No Perun, we don't wonder if we're the baddies. You are Londo Mollari, Sister Judie is Mr. Mordin. And we work for the Shadows.

I love how well you are playing the Servants while at the same time showing utter contempt for them.
I just watched this and realized you hadn't finished it yet. I did my own brutal servants run early on (I don't like playing Brutal but wanted an easy achievement :P ). I wasn't as extensive as you and wanted to try something stupid. So, I created the caliphate and also the Ethiopian mega country to take over Africa. If I wanted to speed run, you had the right answer but I wanted to see what happened if I didn't do much. Unfortunately for me wanting a challenge, this was still when the AI were idiots and I was able to essentially dominate space. I took over Kazakhstan and actually went the really slow routes of crack and purge. I had some really good people for that. Then the abductions...so many abductions. I eventually learned that you want to abduct from the more obscure parts of countries because they have a higher percentage chance of success and still count towards the total. Also, assassinations really become a problem and common late game. Really wish I used military more and understood it as much as I do now, reminiscing on those games.
"Soon (tm)"
(yes, I have in fact just re-watched this series for the giggles and memes)
@PerunGamingAU just discovered the Servants playthrough and was really enjoying it! What are the chances that it gets resurrected and finished off?
You need more bottled alien farts. And railguns.
Where can I get more pherocytes targeting larger countries (as opposed to the Hydra just spamming them in Panama all the time?)
@@PerunGamingAU - Maybe the aliens like tropical coastlines.
I'm looking forward to seeing Perun's distaste for the Servants thaw out until he is giving full-throated speeches, praising our alien overlords by the final episode.
26:45 I love the story telling and world building that you create in these playthroughs. I can tell that you really dislike the servants play through but truly appreciate you coming back to this series sticking with it.
Been thinking of doing a Servants run where I never go into space at all, because they're the one faction that can actually do that. And this is a good demo of how it might work, tbh.
Yup, did a shadow game of this (Servants/Brutal), and I don't think anything I did in space made any difference at all - except for some tech bonuses and the Skunkworks for the third Project slot, but I never even upgraded the space labs to L2, and I probably could have done without and just taken a bit longer (or skip Greater United North America).
@autolykos9822 The tech bonuses are the biggest part. Using my current game as a baseline, you'll lose about 50% to each field's bonus, 150% to engineering, and about half your raw research points. Combined, that'll slow your research by like 75% or so, probably, and that's a huge loss. You make some of that back by not needing to worry about building up bonuses or tech for anything in space, but it's still the biggest pain point.
@@Alsadius Not arguing that space science can be huge, and very useful. Just wasn't in this game. I got about 2/3 of bonuses from Orgs, never got any science from space, and still managed to capture global research by the late 20s (mostly to delay and derail into useless directions). Losing the third project slot would've hurt, but pruning your projects more aggressively might recover most of that. I'd say it's slightly harder, but still very much possible (and probably still easier to do on Brutal than most other factions on Normal).
Yay! I've been waiting for the next Servants episode! :)
Hail Hydra!
As have I!
Where is the finale?????
Congratulations! You have been promoted. The last ten people to hold the position were all assassinated.
Look, say what you will, but the servants are the most ambitious faction in a way. All the other factions "just" want to resists or coexist with the aliens.
The servants want to manipulate them into becoming dependent on humanity, by offering an alternative resolution to their past trauma, and aiming to become a central indispensable part of their culture. The end result, if it works, is a society in which the two races aren't just mistrustfully tolerant of each other, like with the academy, but one in which they are truly integrated into a singular whole.
Obviously this is even more utopic than the Academe's perspective, and a lot more high-stakes and dismissive of the needs of the 95% of humanity that's doing just fine not having to deal with the emotional trauma of their new, nearly indestructible, hyper advanced, 6'9", alien d̶a̶d̶d̶i̶e̶s̶ ̶overlords with a genetically hardwired dom kink and mind-control superpowers that can make you feel literally anything, but, it's not completely divorced from reality. Servant leadership does exist..
All your councilors getting Assassinated reminds me of the only Semi-Successful Humanity First run ive ever managed to pull off (Game is hard.)
I somehow managed to create both Greater India and the Pan-Asian Combine and my dominance on Earth was guranteed. Spent most of my late game literally assassinating everyones councilors except The Resistance and Project Exodus.
It was really fun, but I neglected space too much and Aliens overtook me and completely destroyed my space economy. Zero chance of victory at that point.
Great Nations is a trap to keep you busy on Earth, while loosing sight on your space expansion. Not gonna lie, it's a fun trap, but you don't even need the Earth to defeat the aliens, just a crap ton of space resources and MC, so you can build up your battle fleet.
@Debott 🇺🇦 I actually had a great Space Economy too, but not enough MC for a fleet worthy of it all. Ayys started destroying everything and my vast Space wealth wasn't enough to cover for literally everything getting blown into oblivion.
Glad to see this picked up again, though I wouldn't've blamed you for consigning it to the dust heap. Your sacrifice is noted and appreciated.
I've been messing with all-space and all-Africa runs, so I can empathize with self-inflicted pain, though admittedly, never self-inflicted moral pain like this run.
I'd love to know how to come back from alien nation victory, as Rebels. Pretty sure there's an achievement for it?
@Perun, and I really wanted to post this on the other channel but here we are...
Seeing as we are seemingly living in a reality where the news cycle has us basically on the brink of a real life Terra Invicta scenario (UAP/UFO/Alien interest at an all time high), would you consider doing an episode on all of the recent disclosures, if even just the ones from the US?
"Nuking Humanity for the Aliens in Terra Invicta" - Perun after being Awarded the Alien Astronaut Theorists Seal of Approval.
Fun series, though about making mechanics explanation videos on dwarf fortress ? My rimworld brain is overheating, while seeing that gameplay.
Thanks for putting together this campaign. I really would have loved to see the end of it.. but there was never the final episode, was there?
It is PROMISED tho. Very recently, I might add.

Awesome, back to TI! I'd love to see an Exodus playthrough.
Edit: I was excited for this episode and viewed it. Maybe I'm reading into things, but it seems like you're not having fun and doing this only to satisfy those of us in the audience who asked for more. As one of those people: please, play only what you enjoy.

Have you happened to check out any of the terra invicta mods so far? The Against all odds mod as a challenge run could be interesting.
wot is that
@@solwilkinson8551 Mod that makes the game harder for a themed humanity first run: aliens build better ships, are more aggressive and all the other human ai factions but especially the alien aligned ones get a better start.

Very glad to see the return of the TI series
I think after this playthrough, the Initiative would be a breath of fresh air.
Thanks for this and previous TI series: they are great!
Hey perun, really hope you'll finish this one one day!
you never finished this... this deeply frustrates me for the time i spent watching the series up to this point. so many letsplays of this game end without finishing the game; i thought you'd be the one to never let that happen
Are you sure you aren't loosing councilors because one of the "good ones" isn't a traitor?
shooting all of them is an appropriat solution I guess?
Siiiiiick. I love DF but I've missed Terra Invicta. Thanks Perun! 😊
10:51 "Non grata" doesn't mean they cannot perform missions in their home country. "Enemy of the state" is what does that.
i was just thinking/hoping this playthrough wasn't coming back
no episode 5?
Ah, the delicious suffering of our dear Perun as he plays the Servants.
What should we torture him with next, lads and ladies?
Also, Perun, I love how you try to distance yourself from your actions by pinning it on your counselors.
@@swj719 The head honcho is never wrong. Always some incompetent general.
I've followed you since your dominion 5 videos, since I'm a big dominions 5 fan. Honestly, I'm so surprised about TI - it really looks so tedious. Obviously I'm the only one of your viewers who feels that way. What am I not getting?
You should do an initiative playthrough !
Perun....bruh, if they nuke an American Army.... they gotta get some American Nukes
I just beat the Initiative playthrough - I think that that ending may be even more satisfying than Humanity First's to Perun.
LOL at the Taylor Swift gag.
How about doing a giga-Australia as a challenge for some playthrough in the future?

The Alien Administration should be a popkill nation. Would be one way to nerf the pro-alien factions.
Do all those nukes have an effect on the state of Earth? Is climate change affected, or is there some other mechanic in play? I'm just wondering how so many nuke barrages haven't launched (so to speak) a whole lot of short- and long-term problems already!
Yes, nukes do have significant effects on the state of the Earth in TI. If enough global cooling from nukes happens, then massive crop failures happen, and that is very, very bad.
At last! I had given up hope!
Huh, where is the ending? Am I missing something?
I specifically kept myself from watching this playthrough until I played the Servants myself, and boy, does it turn into a frag-fest to conquer the world for the Alien Admins. Those xenos do not hesitate to pick fight with every nuclear power they can piss off.
For me, they trashed all their armies at the gates of Paris which the French nuked multiple times over. I lost four councilors in those blasts, trying to take the EU peacefully, which turned out to be the winning move in the end. XD
Oh... new unit movement graphic. Noice.
Finally you got out of the dwarven caves!
never finished because fuck the Servants thats why
Is there no episode 5?😮
Can't you put protection on a very vulnerable councilor and get easy captures?
Yay more terra invicta
Hi im watching this a year later. Where is the last episode? Have to agree, its a very grindy game, but after all this, id like the victory please. Anyone who can confirm if the episode is out, that would be helpful thanks!

We get Perun to play Protectorate, but he plays to lose. If an AI faction who isnt Protectorate or Servants wins, he wins !
Throwing the game isn't realistically going to be much fun.
this sounds like an escort mission and I'm not sure I want to put Perun through that. Actually, I'm not sure if any of the other AI are actually capable of winning the game.
