Posting as I'm watching. Halethorpe? If so, much upgrade since last time I used that station. Could a person use a tripod on that platform? Would that help? Great shot of the Amtrak none the less. At New "Carlt'n," as the Pennsy Marc conductors would call the end of DC Metro Orange Line, the platform is between the tracks. Being ten feet away from a couple thousand tons passing at 100 mph is kind of a rush. I would love to be on that platform as two Amtrak NE Corridor trains run through in opposite directions at the same time. Lot's to watch with this video.
St. Denis, B&O, Halethorpe interlocking, junction with Old Main Line. The freight crossing over to the Washington Branch. Special Train? Liquid plutonium or something?
Gun Road entry into the State Park was closed long ago. I lived in a house across the tracks from that site for a month or so and was working for the B&O. The Old Main Line shown with the first train was closed, and remained closed for a few years after Agnes That may have been when the Gun Road entry into the park was closed as well. Agnes wiped out colonial era structures as well as chunks of the Old Main Line. The Ilchester Tunnel was an occasional cool refuge when walking in the park on hot summer days. About 1200 feet or so long, it seemed as though the other end kept getting farther away the deeper I'd get in the tunnel. The flood had not entered the tunnel. The flood damage to the RR happened farther up-stream. No trains for years after Agnes. Agnes also did a good cleaning of toxic industrial sediment from the Patapsco. Killed people living in colonial-era stone houses near the river though. Now people swim in the river. People sometime did back then as well, but most people would think "ew, not me."
The gun road crossing was open awhile after agnes, as it was the only way to access that side of the river. I assume the bridge was built first, then the rest of the park was redone (along with the tracks eventually being restored by the railroad), and when all was rebuilt and ready, the gun road access was closed to the public and the south street/washington blvd was opened.
I have visited since and have the mental picture. However I haven't been there since the removal of Bloedes Dam. It was once possible to cross the river by walking "under the dam." Some minor steep-slope scramble to the base. Piece of cake for a teen. I remember colonies of cray-fish out of the water and an odd funky odor under the dam. The passage was the old power generating station. I generally trust my memory, just not 100%.

"Precision Schedule Railroading" in Woodstock? Not sure, having distributed power is good with any coal-load train. Not precise, not scheduled, and not railroading, according to at least one ex railroader on RUclips. I used to work for Rail. I think that is accurate I haven't heard about wrecks on the CSX. Not all corporate culture is the same. Hopefully CSX will not become news-worth like NS. According to NTSB, three successive hot-axle-bearing detectors were activated by the train that derailed at East Palestine. Only the last required stopping the train, by then it was too late. . Hopefully CSX has a lower axle-bearing temperature alarm threshold set on their detectors.
So I needn't count the cars. 368-(number of locomotive axles) divided by 4 equals number of cars don't need to know exactly, just that with all those 90' auto-racks a seven or eight thousand foot long train.

Is the marc 68 locomotive engine still in commuter service????
Yes, basically a spare now.
@@BaltimoreAndOhioRR a work train when not in commuter service those engines should had been rebuilt with a new motor engine!
