The hit combo count caps at 99 hits if a chain is maintained but is still possible to keep scoring high with the +5000 pts per 5 hits. It can be increased by shooting enemy projectiles. (See Smraedis score attack replay)

At first look, it makes them see that they are a volt of vultures devouring their prey... lol P.S. Shooting a first aid box with full health rewards 5000 pts (more on Smraedis replay). Its like a unique version of HOTD/Virtua Cop but slightly trickier since its all about shooting down the enemy before they throw projectiles, use slashing attacks, etc (at least there are no civilians in the way). No lock on marker in the game to notice whether the enemy is going to attack... What can break the hit chain: miss a shot or take damage from an enemy. Note: Smraedis run was on the PS2 version port

If they add something like bomb (jutsu) and make it easy it might be better game.
