Some things I love (not that anyone asked but I wanted to talk about them so,,) :
(Also sorry in advanced abt how bad this is worded, I started this comment & then all the sudden my brain stopped working)
How different and off Phil's expressions are when the EK starts talking to Chayanne (0:27 to 0:31)- really shows how this isn't Phil, despite it being his body, because Phil would never look at his kids like that (arrogance, malice, hatred?)
The purple strings controlling Phil we see at 0:23 and 1:10
Tubbo and Fit and the entities (?) they're tied (?) to, kinda like Phil & EK (and I don't know anything about Bad being tied to some entity so if the blue is referencing smth, idk how it ties/mirrors Phil's sitch)

Tallulah with the rose (1:01 to 1:04), and how she's probably crying because she thought Rose would protect them but here Phil is, possessed
I dont know if it was on purpose but the pose Chay is doing at 1:14 is basically the same as the one he did in the Purgatory animatic, which is an interesting callback/mirror
The references to all the people he cares about- his family (1:12 to 1:15), his found family kids from Purgatory(1:16), his friends (1:17 to 1:20)
& What made me make this comment; the movement Phil makes after going after Chay (1:28 to 1:31)- basically moving like a puppet on strings, which Phil is at this moment in time (and I think that's so fucking cool he moves like a literal puppet)

I cant begin to explain how amazed I am by this, especially as i take it, just as everyone else is under or bound by some entity, its like Philza being tied to the Enderking, but Chayanne has Technoblade as his entity,.. which is just so damn awesome because wow Technoblade's legacy continued in the most badass way ever

Love that you included all the traumatizing things that happened within this short time frame like parallels of Phil’s situation: Tubbo’s death and Creation’s appearance, Fit and his contract with Madagio coming to a close, Bad and the choice of continuing his cycle of reincarnation or returning to his home beyond those doors.
Poor Tallulah who feels helpless as she watches people she cares for one after the other suffer.
Also love the ongoing confrontation between Chayanne (with the aid of Techno) and Possessed Phil (Enderking) and the inner conflict of Phil versus the Enderking. That moment of everyone Philza holds dear flashing by a direct call out to where Philza said compared to himself the Enderking has no one by his side.
Love that you took Philza’s take on the fight where the Enderking doesn’t have full control so therefore can’t control his body well and has to rely on Philza’s body’s experience with past battles, which Techno was there for and thus is able to efficiently guide Chayanne on the surest way to win against him.

Call me crazy but in the scene of Tubbo and Creation, back to back, did Tubbo seem lifeless? Or even angry? I have been thinking about it all day and I can't understand it.
@@hell_of_helios I thought it was more like grim determination. Because in the audio message he left behind for Sunny, he was saying how he hoped she never had to hear the audio (since she could only hear it if he disappeared) but was leaving it just in case. Tubbo also spoke of 2 others that knew of this audio, because he made it so he himself never remembered making it, and how he never wished for her to meet them. I’m sure he was implying Creation as one of them, which is why it asked for no one to tell him, since it most likely was an emergency protection measure meant for both Sunny and his Godchildren should something bad happen to him. He was prepared to protect the children under his care even after he was no longer around, by any means possible.

I love how it’s become canon that technos spirit was guiding Chay through the fight. It’s nice to have a part of him involved even if he’s no longer here.
1:42 I don't know if the extra lines were intended or not, but I love them because they kind of show how his arms are shaking, and philza seems to be fighting back, trying to stop himself from hurting Chayanne, amazing!

i really like the way chay's knee pads look like skater pads. its such a nice detail and makes him look a bit more like still a kid. but this is just one tiny detail in this overall fantastic animatic, good job mae!!!

Techno being there was wonderful. Chayanne being able to see the person he's looked up to since day one was so touching. The animation is amazing as usual, you give us quality angst every time! I could watch this for hours! Great job once again!
Seeing techno, standing beside Chay, it almost made me cry. The way he helps hold the sword. Even though Chay is just a character, Techno is very real, and it makes me so sad and so happy at the same time.
I already know I'm going to love this, because god do I absolutely adore that song SO MUCH.
I actually LOVE the sequence at 0:47 that highlights the other islanders, it's so clever! It adds a lot and ties in with the song so well! (Also I'm always happy to see Creation, he's my favorite guy lol)
This legit nearly made me cry, seeing Techno there. I knew he was there canonically but still seeing him makes it hit harder for that moment.

I especially love the detail of the memory of everyone who Phil loves and cares about showing up to the line "Lift me higher, let me look at the sun" ***Because they're his reasons to keep fighting***, immediately followed by the Ender King getting *really mad* and striking again, implying he is, as always, jealous and angry about what he cannot have.
I might be reading too much into that, but I thought it was a really cool detail. Also the uses of color here are so cool, how the only color is purple until you get the red splash of blood as Chay gets in the hit that snaps Phil out of the possession? Top notch, incredible.
Sorry for gushing, this animatic is gonna live in my head rent free. You did so much cool stuff here, 10/10, much applause.

I keep coming back to this animatic, it's so cool! The utter contempt on EK's face when he looks at Chayanne is portrayed so heartbreakingly well, and when he hunches down, the wings coming over him feel like claws looming. Also the way you draw Philza's wings and the positions of the feathers looks so good, it really let's you in on what shape he's currently in. Wonderful work!

the purple strings at the beginning and then the brief flashing of them later, the way possessed phil kinda stumbles around and REALLY looks like he’s not in complete control, the way the burns/cracks/(idk what to call them 😭) on his shoulders and face are drawn, the kind of unhinged and angry look possessed phil has and then the realization when he comes back, how detailed every frame is and all of the parts with everyone else at first just absolutely suffering and then happy and smiling, THE PURPLE EYES ON PHILS WINGS??? literally just everything is so RAAHHH /vpos

I just imagine poor Chyanne seeing his dad be consumed.
Hes terrified. He may be a strong little warrior, but he's still an egg.
But then he hears that voice.
"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles."
That voice has guided him in his time of need countless times. A hand on his shoulder he sees the spirit. This powerful force.
Every step Chyanne takes, every slash and block he makes, a calm voice is guiding him through.
Finally philza's body pulses as crow dad realizes whats happening and is trying to take back his body. But he can't, hes trapped.
"The wings. Go for the wings."
Chyanne'd heart sinks. The wings? His father had just healed them! He wanted to fly some day!
"Theres your opening." No..
"Now."
With pain in his heart and guilt Chyanne leans in and drives his blade through the wings, leaving them in ribbons.
Philza comes to, as Techno fades.

OH MY GOD! I love this now i maybe a little biases because this is my favorite lore dropped by Phil but as a fellow crow this is my favorite animatic you have ever done. And is one of my favorite animatic in general.

Some things I found interesting (or not I'm probs just saying nonsense 😭)
Did anyone notice at 2:02 where Phil's wings are burned? From the entire animation Phil's wings are normal and healthy and him being able to move them kinda like a bird with free flight, but when you notice the strings in 0:23 and the power that the EK has in 1:10 he's truly not free, plus in 0:09 (also seen in 0:23 ) his wings are fucked like some feathers aren't preened nor look taken care of which can cause birds severe pain and will affect their way of flight. Kinda like how EK allows Phil to fly but restricts him and not letting him to be truely free.
Here in 0:13 0:14 is a look into how EK controls Phil. Phil's character is usually calm, any emotion that Phil deems as weakness he hides away in order to protect his family and himself. A reference in 0:17 where a crow is caged, Phil is a caged bird to both his emotional being and his mental being, therefore allowing EK to use these emotions to control him.
0:23 That's not Chayanne's dad, which is quite obvious but look at how its kinda in Chay's perspective, he sees his father but its not him. EK has full control of Phil in his part from the obviously seen purple in Phil's eyes, shoulders and the purple eyes in his wings. (Also, Phil's pose kinda reminds me of Techno in "Welcome Home Theseus" quote towards Tommy, and Wilbur's "My Unfinished Symphony" in SAD-ist's animations)
There's a big difference in Chayanne's stance in 1:08 and how Chay dogged the first attack in 1:24. Chay's just a child (seen through his reactions, widened eyes and an unsteady body language), even if he's brave and strong he doesn't have the actual guts to fight an entity that would lead to more bad than good. (Also another small thing 1:08 is how simplified Chay's clothing his compared to Techno's more regal look, its shows how Chay is a warrior and that he's brave but he's still a kid, and needs more time to actually develop both emotionally and physically)
Flashback scene - 1:13 Why is Missa's expression like that? Is he running away from something or someone? Kinda makes me intrigued. In 1:16 even though Tallulah isn't Missa nor Phil's biological daughter they still love and accept her with wide open arms, and in this Tallulah also gives back the love and care Missa and Phil have given (pointing out that the entire scene is in Phil's perspective). After the flashback of Phil's loved one's look at how uncomfortable and mad EK is in 1:21 this shows that the flashback is Phil trying to control and gain back his senses.
After the first swing - 1:23 its not that seen well but look at how the difference when Phil realized he actually tried to harm his son, the utter disbelief and shock on how he did what he did. 1:31 its EK thats in full control now (see on how the purple glows and becomes more vibrant). 1:35 even though Techno is guiding Chayanne and helping him defeat EK, Chayanne is still scared, its not that noticeable but if you look closely Chay is about to cry, he is crying (also seen in 1:37 ) because he's just a child. He's also crying while fighting Phil ( 1:45 ) not because there's a chance he can hurt his father, but because he's scared and afraid of EK, again, Chay is just a kid (kinda realized Chay's tears kinda match Phil's black/purples ones on his face)
Also note there's a small difference in 1:54 where he has already defeated Phil (well more like EK who was controlling Phil). See how he's more serious and is more warrior-like, and even in defeat Phil crumples down into a ball and covering himself with his wings to show vulnerability. Going back to 2:02 where we can see the burned wings of Phil it shows that even if EK lost he still took something important to avians and birds alike-the ability to fly. Even if Phil is free from any harm and free from EK, he isn't free from the trauma and can never truly soar or fly away from this problem, in 1:58 see how even if EK left, Phil cried cause, again, his wings are now burned, they're gone.
Well done Maeple! Love your design of Technoblade and also love it that his spirit is guiding Chayanne to fight an ancient evil king possessing an old crow.
