It's massive power has proven a tough challenge for stylis to properly balance it to the point where they've changed each and every aspect of the M107 so many times that it really makes me ask: What Even is The M107 Anymore..?

I'll give one thing to stylis is that the new recoil for the M107 is so much better and MUCH more managable.

One thing I'd like StyLiS to experiment with when it comes to snipers is limiting and altering certain attachments. For example, if they don't want people quickscoping with the M107, they could simply force you to only use the high magnification (6x+) scopes.
I think that skeleton grip and remove stock need to work differently on sniper rifles, as their main downsides can be easily avoided by simply equipping a scope without the sway mechanic. Either that or just make the sway mechanic built into the weapon itself instead of the scope.
really, this is the easiest way they can do to balance a weapon, some games such as rainbow six siege and hunt showdown already do that. especially hunt showdown, there is a weapon that using giant bullets with enormous damage, but nerf by an awful scope which make it balance, no one ever complain about it. Phantom forces while i like that you can customized your weapons just like every other weapons but it's make devs hard to balance a weapon without touching it most unique stats and somehow ruin it just like m107
True M107 is really slow
and mabye revert the m107s damage ranges to be able to one shot after a sertan range but remove suppressors that effect it for example every supressor but the normal supressor
Honestly stylus either should just not balance the M107 or remove it entirely from the game. The M82/M107 is an anti-material rifle. Meaning it’s designed to go through lightly armored vehicles and knock them out of combat. If it can’t obliterate a human being, it’s not an M107. I don’t think there is any truly reasonable way to balance it, besides entirely removing the rifle and reimbursing people who prebought it.
I prebought it at rank 80 ish and it was about 14k with no setup but I bought exten mag and okp-7 so it was closer to 16k. If it gets removed without a refund Imma be mad.

4:00 the M107 actually has a 1.11 torso multiplier that allows for 1 shot torso kills from 100 studs to 250 studs, making the sweet-spot 150 studs. I still agree though that its hard to find the sweet-spot and believe that it should be from 100 studs to 300 studs instead. That would encourage plays to not get close but also get guaranteed torso shots for a great range, later needing to reply on headshots.
I think its 101 to 249, im not sure if the gun's damage is rounded up

I love how rebalance means completely stopping having all fun... I personally loved this gun, how it looks, how it works but recent changes just killed my interest in m107, after 1900 (I've prebougt it on rank 120 not a skill issue don't worry) kills on this gun, after countless day of dopamine rush and it's damn sad
I bought it a rank 80 and got just under 1k kills but haven’t used it scince bc its so bad.
Use the m107 with the cqb barrel , and no 10 round mag with skeletongrip .
It becomes like a literal speed demon

Stylis’ obsession with making these big weapons so comically slow that they are borderline useless is getting out of hand at this point, the M107 isn’t even the only example of this. I am an avid melee only enjoyer and my main melee of choice for years now has been the zweihander due to its instakill property, good range, and godlike quick attack. Amplifying this was a ton of awesome and specific tech related to the quick attack, sliding speed and etc etc. but despite all of the upsides and basically being the best melee weapon in the game for normal play it was still overshadowed by a lot of other melees because there wasn’t too much use for it in an average load out, it was super slow and unwieldy to combo with your primary, and was far too overkill for a finisher anyway. But stylis nerfed it once again and hit it with the same thing as the m107, but on top of that it’s walkspeed is the slowest in the game anyway, and the slide goes 2 inches, not only did this murder the weapons viability into the dirt, it also made 95% of the movement tech null and void because you are literally forced to a standstill the second you take it out. This is simply not the way to “balance” big hard hitting weapons

Let me explain
The m107 starts to 1 shot torso beyond 100 studs and upto to 250 studs , it can 1 shot torso.

Now M107 seems like a weird Steyr Scout. Can body shot kill in a short range period (Steyr is something like 50 studs max range) but Steyr can Body kill in a low range, M107 needs to be in a mid-high range.
And Steyr may be the fastest Sniper.
Revert the changes to the slow scoping. Then make a bipod attachment. This thing makes it so you have to unfold the bipod taking 1-2 seconds, then mount the gun on a fence, box, or any prop or low wall or just have to prone to speed up aiming and increase stability. Yo can’t move when scoped and prone but you can crawl at an incredibly slow speed when I scoped. The m107 is a big heavy gun so if you don’t mount it or prone, the gun will wave an unstoppable sway that is way to much. The gun will constantly go up and down because your charechter has to re balance the gun in his hands making it not practical to quick scope as even when mounted or prone, it isn’t a quick scope gun. Red dots and canted sights have the same mechanics so they won’t be op. This encourages longer range or more patient gameplay. If you want to make it so you can move when scopes, add the ski-pod. Same as on the lahti-l38, a gun they should add, the skis make it so you have the a slightly nerfed pros of the bipod but you can move when prone at normal speed and slowly when scoped or scoping. You still have to crouch or prone but at least you can crawl with the gun. The ski-pod is better for a shoot and scoot system so meh. Probably won’t encourage them to add the Blake-pod aside for on the lahti-l38.
The best way to balance the M107 is to slow it’s RPM to what the other .50 cal snipers fire at, and bring back the reverse damage range that it used to have, alongside a buff to aimspeed with any sight that is a scope, and has at least 2.5x magnification, but keep the new speed nerfs in place.

Bad business is more ironic. Instead of a M107, we got ASR which is a semi auto one shot sniper. Bunch of Sweatlord put Red dot sight and expected themselves to be a better sniper
I think that It is quite simple, an avergw to low scope time for a sipier, shighly nerding the fire rate but making the sweet spot like 100-150 studs
Another thing about the M107 that puts it behind the BFG 50 and Hecate II (imo)
The M107 doesn’t have access to heavy or light barrel, while the BFG and Hecate do. This decreases the M107’s versatility considerably, between either running .416 Barrett + Light Barrel for a better combined ADS speed, or doubling down on the sniping potential with Heavy Barrel and .17 Incinerator to effectively make the M107 as hitscan as the BFG and Hecate with the same mods, or doubling down on penetration with M903 SLAP + Heavy Barrel.
While I’ve wanted a sweet spot mechanic for a long while now, I didn’t want it for something like the M107. Not to mention it shoots the M107’s niche of being a long range terror (that can’t be moved away from) in the foot.
If I were to suggest a unique mechanic for the M107 that aids in its niche, I’d probably make it so that it has a bipod mechanic similar to the NTW-20, but doesn’t restrict ADS with the M107. However, what it DOES do, is buff ADS speed and recoil control when set up on the bipod, which allows the user to take advantage of the firecap more (but maybe only to where 100 RPM is the effective firecap and not 200), but on the move, it’s still slow and recoils a lot. It turns the M107 into a powerhouse (albeit replacing the 1-hit anywhere of the NTW with the semi-auto nature of the M107), but requires the user to be a sitting duck similar to the NTW. Adding Heavy + Light Barrel won’t hurt either (even if the irl M107 only comes with 20/29” barrel options, but that didn’t stop the Hecate).
We could do the old inverse damage and the aiming speed of the hecate but the ranges and inverse damage specialzed for long ranges & Cross maps
Did some testing with the damage range of the m107, and found out the about 91 damage times the torso multi can kill, 91 * 1.11 =101.01. this mean that the sweet spot is bigger then the graph show.
I've been making records with it like 80 or 90 kills i havent been playing it for 1month yesterday i came back to play pf and i couldn't believe how much they nerfed m107, i very liked this gun

This gun still works very well in long range maps (mainly mirage revamp)
Alright, hear me out: JUST. ADD. A. BIPOD. If you look at the m107 model you can see it already has one, but it isnt used. I feel like there should be an attachment like in bad bussiness for snipers: The bipod. I feel like it could really ballance it if they used it correctly. So this is how i think it should work: Make aiming speed slower but if you crouch your recoil becomes less and if you prone close to none. If you walk,sprint, slide with it or dont use the attachment at all the recoil will be so bad that you can barely hit someone unless they are standing 1 stud away from you. This way it will be best to use it at long range, just crouching or laying down at the back of the map just as Stylis wants it to be used. So please, Stylis ADD A GODD#MN BIPOD ALREADY

In game there's a rule unwritten and it is that as with the double barrel shotgun, you simply cannot fail with the M107 too, even an game with an hell of powercreep like GTA Online took this rule, the M107 rifle is characterized by being heavy and slow but very lethal, somehow, Stylis failed with something imposible to fail, I mean seriously, I know they had to nerf that weapon, but there were a million ways to nerf this weapon and it continued to be fun to use, nah this people just destroyed something legendary

I guess the snipers in energy assault are balanced(they got rebalanced and the devs actually gave it good animations), they are good for the ttk of the game nor op or broken.
Only problem being that you have to hit a headshot to 1 shot kill.
I literally pre-bought m107 like an adoption and to come back to my poor baby bruised and half-dead makes me sad. I think making a reverse damage where its shit at close range like 0-100 studs then ramp up to a max 200 studs for one hit would sorta work. Then a conversion that would make its the exact opposite where its a 1 in the first 100 and shit in the 150+ range would work. But make its so you need to scope but the scope is a little slower even with skeleton. Like 1 sec or something like that. Make it so its an optional different playstyle.
To be honest, I like the idea of the change, but the ranges are way too short for it to be usable let alone fun, what I would do is keep the idea of the sweet spot but make the ranges way farther (like 100-250/300 studs). This would make the M82 feel a lot more climactic and usable while still keeping the niche so you don't braindead someone from the other side of the map. (also the EMP slide nerf didn't really make sense)

I dont think people quite understand the m107, im pretty sure it can 1shot from 101 to 249 studs... (correct me if im wrong), so that makes it a possibly a little bit worse intervention as it could be used with way more firerate and penetration, but at the cost of a VERY slow mag reload and a very little mag (extended mag ruins the gun, not worth it)

I think they should basically make it a semi BFG with decent recoil if you fire it slowly but terrible recoil if you spam it, with decreased damage and gyrojet type damage range but the increase is very slow and over a long range. But it also can’t 1 shot to the torso until it is past like 100 studs or something.
Another way they could balance it is give it BFG stats with no torso multi so as soon as damage starts to drop off, it can’t one shot to the torso. And dmg starts to drop off at like around 160~ studs. Also same type of decent recoil if you fire it slows but very high recoil if you spam it.
Also these both should have BFG/Hecate type walk speed but a little bit slower and they should probably make it so it doesn’t take 9 years to zoom into the scope.

It really is weird to see the M107 and Stylis’ handling of it. They’re usually not bad with unique mechanics with weapons but they made a perfect camper sniper weapon something I would genuinely prefer the stock Mosin over.

I have an idea of making it more balanced (compared to the main game) make the walkspeed slower, the aimspeed slower and make the "sweetspot" have a 0 to 75 no torso kill, 75 to 300 torso kill and after that no torso kill, the reasoning behind this is that the 2 biggest problems are people using it in cqc or camping with it in the corner of the map, 100 to 250 is the avarage sniping distance for most players but it probably need a bit of a buffer distance so that it's not going to be that inconsistent when using the m107 like a sniper and for camping or cqc

@@unknowunknown9096 well, the point of the m107 is to be used at range unless you're using ratshot, and if the added the "sweetstpot" mechanic to the game then the least they can do is use it properly. Also the game has shotguns so making a sniper cqc viable again while trying to make it non cqc viable wouldn't make much sense

@@unknowunknown9096well the problem with that analigy is that pf is a videogame so balancing doesn't necessarily have to be irl based so nerfing the damage at the distances the m107 is exploited the most in would be an effective nerf making it be actually used as a sniper and not a back map camping or spawn camping and rushing cqc demon, also if it would have a jamming function then it would differ from every other gun in the game. Another thing is the fact that .50 bmg doesn't have low recoil, the reason why duel wielding m107 vids have low recoil is because they are hipfiring and using the guns weight to keep it low

I'd always wanted to get the M107 so I saved up for it, eventually got it, and only got around 600 kills before they destroyed it. I didn't even want it for how overpowered it was, I've just always been a fan of massive snipers and I really admired the design. It is a shame to see what once was my favourite weapon turn into... this, but I can only hope that eventually they fix it,

why doesnt stylis just make it a slow sniper rifle (not as slow as ntw but you know) and make it in a way that it's accurate when you stay still but a bit inaccurate when moving, making it a bad weapon for quickscopers but good for long range?

The way I see it they should let I be op but add low ranking guns that will counter it, even the intervention would work.. you see someone using one and die to it.. you then pick a long range weapon of your choice and locate him and take him out or confront him at a not so ideal range for him

to be honest, i asked a server if i should either prebuy m107 or hecate II and this was before the recent update, everyone said m107 but i got hecate anyway, and now i am proud of my decision.
Over penetration does exist so it does somewhat make sense , if they really wanna balance the gun I think breaking it's hipfire and making it slow is decent . Maybe making it not one shot in cqc also isn't too bad . It's a long range anti material rifle so crippling it's speed and recoils does make sense . The sweet spot is quite goofy especially at that range
Stylis has trouble balancing all snipers, despite there being proven ways to do it.
Give sfg50 level inaccuracy while hipfire, so true accuracy is only obtained fully aimed in. (Half scoping counts as hipfire)
80 rpm 175 stud oneshot body.
Long barrel for reverse damage at 50 rpm. (Removes hipfire inaccuracy)
Cqb barrel for 200 rpm and 70 studs oneshot. (Like a primary Deagle Xix)
I prefer a toned down version of what the gun is, not changing what it is supposed to do.
They should add the bfg50A
i think they should make it sort of like the ntw, make it have a a TON of recoil, but add something like a bipod attachment that hevaily decreases recoil laying down. then, make the walkspeed mid to low, make the aimspeed fast while prone and very slow standing, make the reload slow, give it low reserve, and make it one shot to everything but the pinky toe 5 miles away. It might not be balanced, but it is sure as hell realistic. also, you are slower while doing any slide, jump shorter, and super jump slower and lower. Balanced m107.
Once again, I will always say this: MOUNT THE THING LIKE THE NTW20!

nah they just should add some attachment in other category which can calculate how much distance is from the center of the sight/scope to certain place on the map, just like rangefinder attachment works in unturned

When I bought the m107 I got around 600-800 kills before the nerf, now I still have 600-800 kills a year later.

To be fair you cant really say that the aim on the m107 is slow as hell when you got attachments that slow it down a ton, also the emp slide is made to equal the speed to whatever youre holding, youre holding a gun that has a walk speed of 18 youre gonna travel at that speed, holding a gun thats 14 youre gonna travel at that speed, but overall i agree the “sweetspot” was just a nerf disguised as a “rebalance”
