    This whole piece is very impressive but what strikes me is the almost PERFECT rhythm. So many great piano players struggle to keep a perfect rhythm but this guy nails it and it makes his playing so much more enjoyable to listen to.

    • @parzingtheasian

      to be fair, take five is a very stable rhythm

    • @davismorgan99
      @davismorgan99 Год назад +4

      @@parzingtheasianmost piano pieces are. I’m saying that it’s impressive that his runs are all perfectly in time. This guy’s internal metronome is near perfect while so many other great piano players struggle to keep that drum like precision in their sixteenths and triplets.

    • @WoodyGamesUK
      @WoodyGamesUK 10 месяцев назад +2

      I think the way he plays it is far from having a constant tempo (in the sense that a metronome would), but it's not trying to. It speeds up a lot, but great jazz (or even rock) performances played by humans often do vary tempo a lot, however what matters is how it feels in the continuity, and the groove is perfect.

However, i felt so trapped that i had to rely on sheets and couldnt use my learned theory to play by myself. Not only that, i’m very tone deaf so it’s hard for me to recognize and match tunes, but you really inspire me to take another go at jazz piano and improv. It seems so liberating to be able to play with a guidance/restriction from sheets.

    Outstanding; phenomenal; these are just a few of the superlatives I would employ to describe this gem.
    Every damn time I watch this video I either: exclaim "What the fuck, this is amazing", or my head just implodes from the sheer creativity and technique. I'm not even entirely sure which chords you're playing atop the original song's structure, but they chords along with the rhythms each take such an interesting detour from the original.
    Amazing work!

    • @TJhandford524

      try this, in any key play: root ,3, 4, flat 5, 5, 7, root so in the key of C minor it would be, C, Eb, F, Gb,G, Bb, C. Play this in a scale up and down. it is a minor blues harmonic. It will help you with improvisation because it is so versatile.

    Dude you're awesome! i can't really find the chords that you play when going to the bridge! they sound amazing. I guess it's a Eb m9, Fsharp haalf-diminished, an E 9 and then i don't know it goes so fast and i can't listen to everything.
    Could u tell me please?

      Traverse the Circle of 5ths for the turnaround: Eb m, Ab, Db, Gb (alt. M3 with m3, and/or add 6, 7, 9, etc to these chords as your ear finds appropriate).
      Personally, I like the chromatic descension: Eb m9, D m9, Db m9, Gb 9 (add 13), B M7. Dig it.

      AI is almost here to do the job

    • @footingball5566
      @footingball5566 Год назад +1

      @@irony_2I know AI will be able to reproduce or create original material perfectly but if I know something is AI, I won't enjoy it at all. There's no thought behind it and no soul. I know I wouldn't be able to tell but when that time comes where you don't know if a song is made by AI or not (and we're not at that stage yet because AI sucks at writing music), I will always pick the human made stuff above AI. Some AI paintings look way better than human made paintings but I still wouldn't buy them over the human stuff simply because if there's no thought behind it, it has no meaning no matter how good the painting looks.
