Got a 0C error yesterday, drained the machine and took a sock out from the filter. Tried washing again, got a 5C error, drained again, took another sock out. Repeat, took a piece of material out from God knows what. Repeat, filter seemed clean but I felt around inside and in a hole to the left I felt a coin. Managed to take it out but I'm worried about trying again as draining it takes ages. A few questions now. I have owned other washing machines, never a Samsung and while there were things like hair pins getting stuck in the filter, I have never had anything like socks one after the other being pulled in there. How does that happen, is it normal? Second, what you took out of the filter isn't anything compared to the sock I found. I don't know much about washing machines, so how did yours error because of such a small thing? Third, while looking for solutions, everywhere says to clean the filter. The coin I found wasn't even in the filter, it was stuck somewhere else inside and it was too big to come out, I had to use pliers to pull it, would that have the same effect as the filter being stuck?Although it was somewhat sideways so can't really see how it would stop the water being pumped? Just trying to figure out if the machine is faulty or it was a series of unfortunate events. Thanks in advance.
Socks in the filter is not normal. Is the front gasket intact? The only way I can see socks getting into the outer tub and thus the filter is by getting past the gasket, unless there is a hole or gap in the inner metal drum. At the making of the video I didn't have the error, so you are correct the small amount in the filter was not enough to trigger a code. As to the stuff in the filter, always check pant and shirt pockets for coins and other objects because they can not only cause a clog, but can damage the pump. I had a bobby pin get caught on the impeller and gouged a hole in the pump housing, now we check all items before putting them in the machine. Best of luck.
Just looked and on the washer and the two hinges won't pinch. Looks like you would have to remove the back casing to release the door. Its a pain, but not enough to go through the extra step. Thanks for sharing.
Two years! Glad you came across the video and you resolved the issue. I just cleaned ours today looking for some Rhine stones that came off a hat, word to the wise put your Rhinestone clothing in a zippered pillow case or hand wash. Thanks for sharing and watching.
Finally found this because the filter cap matches mine. Trying to figure out how to twist out. Clicks as it twists, thanks for telling me to push in and twist. I hate child proof caps.
Thank you for the video! I was able to follow the steps and get rid of the error code but now I’m having another issue, whenever we do laundry water just keeps rushing out of the filter, any suggestions about what might be wrong?
Make sure the filter still has the gasket in place and that it is clean. Also make sure the lip the filter seals against is clean. Check that the notch in the filter is mated correctly when inserting to machine. Turn until it clicks in place. Securely plug the little drain hose. hope this helps
The question i have is if the washer is full of water and the 5C happens, do i have to drain all of the water out of the washer or is it just the water that is in the filter area? Cause it would take a very long time to drain the whole washer with that small line.
Yes you could drain all the water out of that small line, but I would use pails to empty the machine or you can lower the discharge hose into a buck and it will drain into that.
My guess is the dime or some other item may have damaged or jammed the pump thus preventing it from pumping out the water. You can try removing the pump and testing to see if it blocked or if it works.
Unless the filter drain hose is clogged or pinched when lowered it should drain several cups of water. Once it stops draining, removing the filter should result in very little water leaking out. If you get a gush of water perhaps there was a blockage that was being held in place by the filter. Check filter on a regular basis to avoid clogging.
So I get the 5c code and I drain and clean the filter. I ran a 20 minute cycle with no clothes or soap and I still get the code about 10 minutes in and the door locks?
You could check for blockage in the discharge line. If none, the other possibility would be a jammed or failed pump, check all electrical connections, or could be a computer issue. Sorry I don't have a simply fix.
@@joe6516 Interesting as when I first went to reinstall the filter it would not attach, until I noticed the catch in the back. It certainly could have been better designed to align properly. If you are still getting the error code it could be a host of things including kink in the discharge hose, or partially blockage of the discharge line, water pump issue, etc. Almost anything that is interfering with discharging the wash water.
@@isisjordan8282 The water pump could be partially blocked. Not for the faint of heart as you have to open up the cabinet and remove the pump to visually inspect.
