Excellent video. Fascinating how fresh Leiter’s work looks apart from the timeless qualities you mention. You can see his influence heavily in images being shared by contemporaries.

Thanks. I agree some modern street photographers do a good job of emulating this style to an extent regardless of those factors.

Great video man! Which book are you paging through? Would love to see some of Saul's fashion work and not only his street. Looks like a good start here

Thanks dude! This is a retrospective book of his that came out at the end of last year: "Saul Leiter: The Centennial Retrospective." I had no idea his fashion photography was so extensive until visiting his exhibit in Shibuya last year. Makes me want to get back into portraiture a bit.

Fantastic sharing indeed !!! Saul has been the inspiration for my own street photography. I am so glad that you have organized so much deep thoughts and passion about Saul's art works into this 10 min. episode. I enjoyed every single second. Question: which photo book did you use in this episode? (P.S, I splurged on myself with an original edition of Early Color last Christmas...not cheap but worthy it every penny to me)

Thank you! He’s awesome, but I really fell in love with his work seeing an exhibition of his photos in Tokyo. This book is the most recent of his work that’s been put out. I can’t remember the name off hand, but it was released last year.
