Own the I230s. Best iron I've hit. Dispersion is tighter and lots of feedback off the face. Plenty of spin and stopping power on the greens for me. Best money I've spent as I'm seeing more greens now without fliers or inconsistencies.

I hit the i230s and loved them!
I’m not a better player at all, but there was loads of forgiveness and loved less offset (than my G425s) since my miss is pull/hook.
I hit the i230s much better than the game improvement irons.
These shouldn’t be marketed to just better players or as Players irons imo. A higher handicapper that doesn’t slice can definitely game them!

thats what i gathered as i recently bought some older MP4s, they are blade, but super easy to hit. this connotation that only low/scratch can use blades needs to go out the window.

I just hit both, both are great feeling clubs but man those p770's are absolute MAGIC! For me the dispersion was ridiculously tight and consistent. I also love the smaller head and forged feel since I'm coming out of blades

Just finished testing out ping i230 irons. I’m 10 handicap and have to say best clubs I have ever hit. The only ones that I can say felt similar were the Wilson Fg tour V6 irons. Those were forged and ping being cast. Hats off to ping with the i230.

I got fitted for literally 3 hours today. Out of a dozen clubs I was stuck between these two. As a PING fanboy it was super hard but I had to go with the P770s. When I hit them sweet they just felt better. Both superb irons.

I’ve changed a few times and hit most irons out today and the i230 is by far the best I’ve hit. Accuracy and distance control is vastly improved. I had to forget the looks and my brand preference and just hit it and it was an easy decision to switch

The only thing that confuses me about the i230 is the higher bounce. I guess this is good for someone who has a negative angle of attack but not sure how it would affect a sweeper? I do like how easy these are to launch and they do go fairly straight, even with off centre hits.

    • @kyleericson9777

@@richb326 I have the 16 Apex Pro irons and was in the mood for new gear last year. Tried the i230s but wasn't thrilled with the feel. Might have been the shafts we were trying, tbh, but we did try a couple. They looked awesome to my eye and I wanted to like them, but I just didn't. That said, I've worked my a$$ off in lessons and practice so my swing is noticeably better now. I'm killing my Apexes but am once again having the itch to try something new. Will give the 230s another go as well as MIzuno and the new Apex pro version.

My clubs were stolen so I’m in the unfortunate position of needing to buy new everything. Even a bag. I’m thinking about the 770s for irons even though I’ve only owned Ping, Mizuno and Ben Hogans in the past.
I’d be coming from butterknife blades, but I want something more forgiving now. I don’t have as much time to practice as I used to. 770s seem like a decent compromise

I don’t get the hype with the i230’s, I had a demo half set and thought they were much harder and louder of the face than my Mizuno 921 forged that are 18 months old. I really wanted to like them as I loved the look but they’re just not for me. I’d even say the much older i210’s felt better

@@nicholas1460 I believe there is also weighting plugs in the hosel so there isn’t just toe weight. A little weight in the toe can also help with stability on shots out of the toe and overall perimeter weighting helps with overall MOI

It’s for swing weight and moi, it’s tungsten which is heavier than steel. It’s also great for swing weight adjustments when they build clubs because they aren’t adding weight to just the hosel of an iron but can disperse it to the toe as well which makes it more balanced thus improved moi
