Okay a couple things - OL Coach Raiola has been on the staff as their OL coach dating back to the last year of Frost - Mahomes has known about Raiola for way longer. They train with the same QB trainer and see each other in person multiple times per year
I’ve see a lot of Raiola at Chandler high, my son ran for a youth track club that practices at Chandler high so we got to see their spring practices. Had the best arm I’ve ever seen on a high schooler. Kid has a cannon and is very accurate. Had all the tools. If he has it between the ears he can become whatever he wants to be as a QB
Speaking as a Nebraska fan, I promise you that there were A LOT of things that factored into Dylan’s recruitment looking the way it did that completely went under the radar. I think a lot of people like to paint this picture that he committed to so many schools because he was a diva chasing the next shiny thing that flashed in front of his face, or just couldn’t make up his mind, but all Nebraska fans know his recruitment orbited around the Huskers from the very start and there. Shortly before he committed to Ohio State, Scott Frost ended up getting drunk and cancelled a visit on him at the last second, which was a terrible look, and his family basically decided Dylan shouldn’t play there as long as Frost was still around. That’s why you’ll notice that almost immediately after Rhule got hired, Raiola opened up his recruitment again and was HEAVILY rumored to the Huskers. Then Georgia won the national championship game and Kirby Smart called him up from the locker room to tell him that was going to be him in a couple years. You can knock him if you want for getting swept up in that, but I’m not going to criticize the kid too much for going with the reigning national champions over a program that was a complete unknown at the time under Rhule. After year one of the Rhule era and getting a solid feel for what it would be, he finally felt comfortable committing to his dream school. I’m not saying that he handled everything pristinely, but I promise you he’s not a diva. In spite of all the hype, he’s just keeping his head down and trying to earn the teams respect right now. He’s humble and is already one of the hardest workers on the team. I think he’s gonna be special some day. How special? I don’t know, but I’d be shocked if he were a bust
a lot of Nebraska fans aren't appreciating how good he actually is. He is insane. It's not like our OL is that good and while we like to think our WRS and RBs are pretty good, they aren't like top tier Big 10 talent.
@@stephena5752 yeah people were acting like Dylan Raiola was somehow the problem in the game again Illinois. He made a couple of mistakes at crucial moments but overall he was amazing for a TF in his first big game. Stats and eye test back that up. Our defensive playcalling and special teams sold that game way harder than Raiola did. Matt Rhule has some shit to figure out.
I don’t think he’s your typical freshman, most freshman didn’t grow up in an nfl locker room, most freshman haven’t trained with one of the top qb coaches since they were young, he honestly didn’t look like a freshman while he was playing, I know it’s only UTEP, but I feel like that shouldn’t make a difference, a normal freshman would have still made mistakes. Raiola is something special
Nebraska hired Donovan Raiola as the OL coach back in 2022 when Scott Frost was the still the HC, which would have been going into Dylan's junior year of HS.
Just glad to have a competent QB. So far love everything about Raiolas approach. Team focused and hard work attitude. All the talent and intangibles that come along with it in such a young guy are also incredible. We might have a world beater here if he keeps the attitude the way he has it. But at minimum, we have a competent QB who isn’t selfish and doesn’t cause turnovers. Hopefully that doesn’t change.
As a fan I just want 6-7 wins and make a dam bowl game !. I don’t care for the ⭐️ at all !!!!!!!. You can recruit any 4⭐️ or 5 ⭐️ but can you translate that to wins and develop the kids into a winning culture.
For those who were initially confused by this comment, @dylangraeve5326 is not talking about Dylan, they are talking about Donovan Raiola, the OL coach.
We'll wait and see there's only about that I think it's less than 10% of the high quarterbacks turn out to be any good in college and the pros it's usually somebody they never expect, take a look at the NFL.
What topic should I cover next?
Notre Dame. Riley Leonard looked really sharp. So did their defense.
boise st
Perry Thompson Auburn freshman receiver
Maybe you should correct the errors on this one first.

thanks for the insight
Nobody cares
Even if UTEP was ez mode some of his passes were just insanely accurate. He seems to have an arm talent you just can’t teach.
That pass to Neyor while he was getting hit, and he put it in the only place the DB couldn't cover it just 👨🍳💋

I remember seeing him during the summer while I was at the Nebraska football camp, dude is built
An honest take. GBR! I think he will be heisman contender within 2 years

Kid is suspect, any man wanting to walk and swing their arms that way is light in the loafers😂

Enjoy his one year at Nebraska after they win 6 games this year and he transfers to Ohio St.
or he could go back to Georgia to replace carson beck and try winning a natty
Wild take
@@markfennell1604 no. He play 3 years for Nebraska then heads to the NFL
Once frost was out at Nebraska OSU was off the table.
Why don't you transfer to Ohio State?!!

If Nebraska end ups on a “Why Raiola didn’t work out” Scott Fischer video in a few years I’m ending it all

Nebraska probably gonna be 7-0 heading into the OSU game. I don’t see them winning any less than 8 games this year.
@@scarletloki6315 won’t say a word till I see how we do against competition this weekend!. This game will dictate our season vs Colorado.
Raiola wasn’t hired by Matt rhule, he was hired by Scott frost. Gotta do better research man. Losing credibility.
true but rhule didn't fire him either 😂
Scott frost is trash
Hire?

He also knows mahomes through his dad and shares his qb coach so they actually know each other
Whoa now. You have your facts all backwards. Dylan's uncle was already on staff under Scott Frost before he even committed to Georgia.
Great channel 🔥🔥 Can you do weekly UT (Texas) content or more of them!
No
@@keodahui7504 ok 👍
I’m pretty sure there are plenty of RUclipsrs that focus on strictly Texas football

Mahomes already knew Raiola because they have the same qb coach, not because of the viral pic
Definitely shows the kid is smart. If I was a QB in college I wouldn’t want anyone other than whoever is helping Mahomes lol
Dylan will throw for 258 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT in the win over Colorado. Final Score: NU 38 CU 28
I would be very suprised to see him throw an interception unless it’s some sort of super human shit by Travis hunter lol
As a true husker fan thank you ♥️GBR
Is this the same dude that said that Dominic Raiola was a great LINEBACKER at Nebraska 😂😂

my bold prediction: Raiola transfers to Georgia after the season to replace carson beck.
bold but not happening unless Nebraska collapses of course then it'll be on the qb....
Dylan will go 50 of 51 for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns!!!
raiola been the o line coach for like 6 years lol
Do better research! Coach Raiola was already on the coaching staff when Rhule came in. He was retained by Rhule.
such a small detail doesn’t warrant “do better research “ the internet has given people a “well actually “ 🤓 license 🪪 gtfoh

Is not good at football. Without the NFL script writers and refs to throw the game for you mahomes sucks. And this kid isn't anybetter.
