Hell yeah man! For the Fox God took the actual video from the concert BluRay, so it is the actual show (not a compilation). Babymetal’s official upload just cut the intro. This song is an eclectic Ska-metal song about “not knowing what to do because something is different”. I think it’s a fun jab at all the Babymetal critics early on, for not accepting them because they were “different” 😂. And yeah, Monochrome is my favorite too. Tough to beat that one! 🤘🦊
🌸 🏫 A Sakura Gakuin reaction would be great. If you don't want to start with their first single, 'Yume ni Mukatte' backed with 'Hello! Ivy', then 'My Graduation Toss' would be a great choice. 'Verishuvi' and 'FRIENDS' are also solid early singles, and Su was still in the group for all of these releases.
This is the West Kami band (black outfits and masks), luck has it, there's also a live MV for Yava from 2017 that has an East Kami band (white outfits with white face paint) intro version. It too has a guy playing a pink guitar. Check it out!🤘
The Japanese word yabai (やばい) has 4 meanings. It can mean “amazing” or “omfg” when talking about someone or describing something awesome, “awful” or “oh no” when something bad happens, “crazy” or “funny” both in a good or a bad way, and last but not least “dangerous” which is its original meaning..... hence the faces they were making. Babymetal ska!
They are both incredible performances, this is one of my favourite Babymetal songs. It's definitely worth checking out the 2017 version too, even if only online your own time.
⚡ 💕 🍑 / 🤔 One of my favorites off of the 'Metal Resistance' album. The official lyric is "ヤバッ!" (Yaba!), which is a clipped form of "yabai". Originally, "yabai" meant "dangerous", but in this song and popular usage, it is also used as an exclamation. "Oh no!" is a pretty good equivalent in English. There are a lot of theories, but even with a translation it's hard to know exactly what this song is about. As Du-Metal says on his translation page, "The meaning of the lyrics is vague, obscure & ambiguous." : )
You definitely should put "Rondo of Nightmare" on your list, be sure to watch the one with the Mischief of Metal Gods intro to see the Eastern Kami band perform some awesome solos.
This is more like their version of ska/metal. Fox's God's version is the blu-ray release I believe. The Kami band has done lot's of solos, here are a few of the best on YT: Eastern Kami's Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014 Live) ruclips.net/video/gq3Bhdy6DCE/видео.html Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan Black Night) ruclips.net/video/tmMocP99QkQ/видео.html Western Kami's Kagerou (Legend MM 2024) ruclips.net/video/no5-os-Npcw/видео.html
@@j-swagjr He missed a few Kami solo's. There are currently at least 6 afaik. This one. Catch Me if You Can, Kagerou, Rondo of Nightmare, Metali, Awadama Fever. You can find many of those on Fox God's channel.
You can indeed buy the blu ray of this performance but there are obviously rips online which aren't hard to find and that's how RUclipsrs get the performances
I saw an older version of this song (with Yui) and I remember thinking "this is such a fun, upbeat song". Than someone in the comments said something along the lines of "I didnt expect to hear ska from Babymetal" and the realization hit me like a brick. Like, holy shit, this is ska!
Good reaction. Well done using For The Fox God's video which included the Kami Band intro that the official download cut. I think you've been told this is them fusing Ska with Metal. This was the Kami Band of the West (the American musicians - Chris Kelly (pink guitar) and CJ Masciantonio on guitars, Clint Tustin on bass and Anthony Barone on drums). The Kami Band of the East (the Japanese musicians - Takayoshi Ohmura has the glittery pink guitar, it is different to Chris Kelly's pink guitar) did their own intro before 'YAVA' at the Big Fox Festival in 2017. If a song has a Kami Band intro it will just be them on stage playing an intro that they have composed and prepared. The girls will join them when they're done for the actual song. Solos and instrumental breaks in songs (such as in 'Road of Resistance', Akatsuki', 'Amore' etc) are part of the song, they are not separate or additional things like the intros. "Pippo pappo pippo pappo pii" means Pippo pappo pippo pappo pii (much like la dee dah dee dah or tum-dedum-dedum).😁
Whew you had my head spinning at the start of this. I was hoping you had this version with the Kami West intro. But then you mentioned the old version-this? And original Kami Band but West...aaahhh. But you handled it well. There are several versions of this going back to 2015/2016? with the OG Kami Band that are well worth the watch. This intro is from the same concert and I can only imagine that official channel chopped the intro to focus on just Babymetal? But for my money if you're looking for the most recent best performance you landed on it here. The one where the intro is cut just launches into the song in such a rapid way it is a little jarring. Love that this whole song w/intro gives the Kami's some well deserved room to stretch out and play. Another fine reaction, thanks. I just noticed only 1.99k subs?! C'mon Kitsune lets show a little love of our own and sub to this enthusiastic reactor! ❤🤘🦊🦊🦊🤘❤
Great reaction! A great Ska/Metal song! For me, it´s in the same league as "Awadama Fever" (but they´re _different_ 😉) Yava! wasn´t performed for quite a long time until "Legend MM". It caught the crowd by surprise, you can hear it in the video 😉 "Legend MM" in its entirety was quite a special and outstanding concert.
Yava! is my favourite Babymetal song and I had been waiting years to finally see it live, so when it started at Legend MM I nearly lost it completely. An amazing performance that completely lived up to my massive expectations. Yava! is one of Babymetal's genre bending songs, in this case blending ska music with metal, which is why it has that unusual beat and rhythm. The intro was part of the live performance at Legend MM, it was just cut off for the official video. The version For The Fox God used is from the BluRay release. They usually do this so that people get something extra from buying the BD rather than just giving it all away on RUclips. If you want to do an SG song, I would recommend "My Graduation Toss", since it's mainly sung by Su-metal. You might as well watch the full live graduation ceremony so you can see the live performance of the song, Su getting emotional, and Moa turn into a sobbing mess and making the promise to Su that she has kept for eleven years. ruclips.net/video/nKvjTJvE0bg/видео.html (be warned it's almost an hour long if you watch the whole thing).
Instrumental intros was a common thing in the old times. Several songs had it and every major performance had a different variation of intro. I recommend to check out "Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014 Live)". Eastern Kami crush it. Btw, it's one of my favorite BM songs.
You should try to look at an older one with Kami band intro. You will not find it at the BABYMETAL site. There is one that is a combination from lots of performances. There is one from 2017 fox festival. But, I cannot find my favorite one that many reactors have used. But, those two are good.
3:07 Reaction start _"Pippo pappo pippo pappo piii"_ 🦊🤘🔥 Welcome back to the Foxhole. This is a song from Metal Resistance 2016 album and era when YuiMetal was still part of the group. YAVA! Until 2017 the East Kami Band played the intro, so they were the original playing an intro but it's way different than this one, they played the song a few more times but without the intro, now this is the first time West Kami Band is playing it along with the intro. Also after YuiMetal left the group, the avengers system were the backing dancers but only Riho Sayashi and Kano Fujihira were the ones selected to perform this song, and last March at Legend MM celebrating MomoMetal's 21 birthday in Yokohama Arena it was Momo-chan first time performing YAVA! "Chigau" in the lyrics is the temporary title fans gave to this song when they did the live premiere without knowing the song, the word means "different" and totally fits with the meaning of the lyrics, this could be a song talking about them, you know, the surprise factor of being different. You can enjoy the East Kami Band intro version as well the original trio performing with the live at Fox Festival 2017 also at For The Fox God. Next suggestion to have some more fun and with another Kami Band intro: - Awadama Fever with Kami Band intro live at Fox Festival 2017. And yeah, you can either buy the DVD/BD of Legend MM or just download the full show, up to you but i highly suggest you to buy it of course. They already finished the Asian Tour performing live along with F.Hero and Bodyslam as well with BMTH once again together at NEX_FEST, they will come back in October with another tour in South America and i can't wait for it. See you next time.🦊🤘 🔥
Most people get that wrong, Babymetal was not AFTER Sakura Gakuin. It was a Sakura Gakuin subunit and went at the same time, so basically since 2010. The first BM songs were performed in SG. Greets from Germany and enjoy! You will LOVE SG for sure.
You have to watch babymetal rondo of nightmare with mischief metal gods intro live at budokan black night 2014, kami band they performed very stunningly
Hi from Ireland great performance, I have a lot of their bluray concerts and I do have the legend mm 2 disc bluray, worth every penny I got mine from cdjapan. I wouldn't personally advise a rip off as suggested in one of your commenters, neither do I think that's where youtubers get performances, I am sure some do although why not support the band and do what you do, go to a channel and support. Anyway enjoyed your reaction as always
You should definitely listen to the mini patti hamburger song. I never can remember the name of it, but its got Yui and Moa singing about a hamburger. pretty adorable
A great way to see the girls personalities would be to react to the Sakura Gakuin nendo tests. Once a year they would give the girls a test and rank them by scores and make fun of their answers.
The Eastern Kami Band is the OG (Dress in white robes and face paint). KAMI BAND MEMBERS:- •Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar). •Leda Cygnus (Guitar). •BOH (Bass). •Aoyama Hideki (Drums). •Yuya Maeta (Drums). •Fujioka Mikio † (Guitar) died in 2018. Some of the members.
For Sakura Gakuin, there's a few songs/music videos you could do, like Verishuvi. Or you could do the Nendo tests, which are very funny. There's one for each year. There's also sub-units, such as Mini-Pati (with Moa and Yui, and later on Momo) You might also like the short play about Yui's "depression," it's rather funny.
1. The Western Kami Band (American musicians) is the second band to back Babymetal. The Eastern Kami Band (Japanese musicians) were the first. Before the Kami Band, Babymetal used Babybones (not live musicians who “air guitared “ their instruments to pre-recorded music. 2. Pi Po Pa Po Pi is alliteration or humming, like “La La La La”. 3. Sakura Gakuin’s “My Graduation Toss” featuring Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) is a great start. “Heart No Hoshi” and “Aogeba Toutoshi” featuring Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi (Yuimetal and Moametal) are also good SG music videos. 4. I prefer the older version of Yava. The East Kami Band intro was more “wicked” in my opinion.
Both video , Official and this one are from same Blu-ray. Official video just contain song only, because intro is not official part of the song. (and intro is different at every concert). This video also from same Blu-ray, just started from intro. There many video with intro on that channel. Usually u can see "+kami intro" on the preview picture) Catch me if u can +intro , and Awadama Fever +intro , Metali +intro, Kagerou +intro etc..
Good reaction as always. 😊 When Crazy J cwas released many people said that it sounded similar to Yava!, only instead of jazz in Java there are elements of Ska. I can't wait for your reactions to Sakura Gakuin, they are currently my favorite group, I even listen to them more than babymetal. I think "Verishuvi" MV is good for start.
For the Fox God and HEAD123456 tend to have the best quality uploads I've seen, so you did well with your pick! I'm brand new to BABYMETAL too (well, as "new" as you can be after binging 10 years of concerts in less than a week), so I've got no clue about your SG question! Best of luck there, but I hope you keep checking out BABYMETAL's arsenal! 🦊🤘
I know you've already checked out the Karate from The Other One Black Night, but I'd highly recommend checking out their performance of Karate at Download Festival 2016 if you haven't already seen it. There's a lot of awesome context around this one, but I'll leave that for others to explain: ruclips.net/video/YebXf5goLdI/видео.html (This is an upscaled version with far better audio than the other uploads you'll find.)
Legend MM 2024 should be the go to for pretty much every available song performed there, in my opinion. It's my favorite concert of theirs. Pippo pappo pippo pappo piii is an onomatopoeia. There is nothing fundamentally out of character about METALVERSE's music compared to BABYMETAL's.
For Kami band intros, try "Rondo of Nightmare" and "Kagerou". I think there's even one before "Catch Me If You Can". I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them atm.
Nice reaction and good pick, this is a nice version indeed! The meaning of the song is actually a bit more complicated than the pippo etc part could hint to 😅, it's about conformism, in music, and in the Japanese culture indeed. Just think of Japanese students, all with their school uniforms, same hair color, conformism is a way to impose discipline and control. There's a struggle on stage between SU and MOA/MOMO in the beginning, and then between them and the outer world, the choreography is the key to understanding this one 😊 🤘🦊⚡️
If Yui Misuno is not on stage, that would not be the original Kami Band as the original band wore white gown and no masks but make up instead. And the original Kami band played their last show with BM sometime in 2019. The first ten years, that's my favorite BM era. I still Love them, but if you look at the magic that Babymetal had when Yui was still in and they were being backed by the original Kami Band, you will know what I'm talking about. Much Love.
The Eastern KAMI BAND the Japanese Band is Babymetal's original backing band not the western KAMI BAND they came much later in 2019 it's also important to note that any group of musicians that have backed Babymetal in the past are considered the KAMI BAND or God band which is what it translates to this is also Babymetal's venture into Ska
FYI as a rule Babymetal Japan does not do anything to promote the KAMI BAND they only promote the girls they even cut a KAMI BAND instrumental song they did during babymetals 2015 Yokohama arena concert but luckily someone at the concert caught it on their cell phone so it still lives today on RUclips
That was cut because of copyright. 'The Hill of Wisteria' is a Takayoshi Ohmura song, not a Kami band song. They let them premier it at the Babymetal concert, but can't publish it.
Since you, like me, are a Moa fan, the one thing you cannot miss is Moa's public farewell speech to Su when she graduated Sakura Gakuin. Prepare tissues. Others will give you the background of that. Also, if you haven't seen Rondo of Nightmare (w/Mischiefs of the Gods intro) it has East Kami in that intro, then a Su solo.. one of my favorite instrumental intros with one of my favorite Su vocal performances -- PS: You have an Attack on Titan reaction in your BM playlist, FYI
Joining the Dark Side eh? SG is pure evil Sakura Gakuin - Friends - it has all 3 girls and Ayami the 4th BabyMetal at the front of the bus. They are all best friends with Ayami to this day. : ruclips.net/video/lRFRVyCPpCk/видео.html
Sakura Gakuin - FRIENDS [さくら学院 - フレンズ] [2010] Full MV - Fukei 's - It has all 3 girls and Ayami the 4th BabyMetal. SG is pure evil, they will devour your soul. You will then be a true BabyMetal fan and will have to knife fight anyone who talks smack about Sakura Gakuin. You will get to drop the NEW FAN on your reactions, you will be a big brother to every SG girl.
Sorry for posting twice (the other one's way down, and I usually try to avoid leaving more than one), but it just hit me that you were talking about Yava having all the genres in it. It does, but if you want crazy try "Iine!" (pronounced Eenay and the i is capitalized). I'm yapping, so I'd better stop lol.
I heard this was meant at another go at metal heads that did not like Babymetal cost it was not "real" metal. "oh my!" : because it is different and not quite right what side if metal is this - oh my ! "yava !"
The lyrics are that of the prospective of a metal head loosing their mind and not knowing how they feel about Babymetal and like it or not Babymetal has gotten into their head. They are torn because "In some way a little different, aren't they?" and "That's not acceptable" but "I can't stop caring about it." and because of that "What should I do?" and "You say "don't care", but I am free to care, ain't I?"
SG has some great songs, however SG between 2010-2014 is pretty poor quality and though they had great songs and individual singers, the group was very campy. It is 2015-2020 when you get some of the very best of SG, with 2019 creating the very best lives SG has ever made putting every Nendo prior to shame really.
The only complaint that I have is that all of the Western Kami Band bassists are guitarists playing bass. Only BOH is an actual bass player. Hammer-ons are not impressive...
Tustin can play multiple instruments, so can pretty much the entire western Kami band. Barone is a guitarist as well. 😆 Pick is standard for modern metal. BOH is moving to pick as well. Somehow turning the ability to play more than one instrument into a negative is hilarious.

We also noticed that the Kami Band intro was missing in the official video...
The Eastern Kami Band is the OG (Dress in white robes and face paint).
KAMI BAND MEMBERS:-
•Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar).
I recommend the songs MAYA, ARCADIA and DIVINE ATACK (Legend MM)
Usually u can see "+kami intro" on the preview picture)
Catch me if u can +intro , and Awadama Fever +intro , Metali +intro, Kagerou +intro etc..
nice video! I sended you a link to the full concert on IG!
Good reaction as always. 😊
When Crazy J cwas released many people said that it sounded similar to Yava!, only instead of jazz in Java there are elements of Ska.
There's a lot of awesome context around this one, but I'll leave that for others to explain:
ruclips.net/video/YebXf5goLdI/видео.html (This is an upscaled version with far better audio than the other uploads you'll find.)
pipo papo pipo papo pi are trumpets, this is a ska song🤣
Legend MM 2024 should be the go to for pretty much every available song performed there, in my opinion. It's my favorite concert of theirs. Pippo pappo pippo pappo piii is an onomatopoeia.
There is nothing fundamentally out of character about METALVERSE's music compared to BABYMETAL's.
For Kami band intros, try "Rondo of Nightmare" and "Kagerou". I think there's even one before "Catch Me If You Can". I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them atm.
pippo pappo pii is some beeping sound of computer on calculation.
There's a struggle on stage between SU and MOA/MOMO in the beginning, and then between them and the outer world, the choreography is the key to understanding this one 😊
🤘🦊⚡️
If Yui Misuno is not on stage, that would not be the original Kami Band as the original band wore white gown and no masks but make up instead. And the original Kami band played their last show with BM sometime in 2019. The first ten years, that's my favorite BM era. I still Love them, but if you look at the magic that Babymetal had when Yui was still in and they were being backed by the original Kami Band, you will know what I'm talking about.
Much Love.
Nope, SKA/Reggae Metal. It means Pippo pappo pippo pappo pii, lol. It is from the Legend MM DVD, Momo's birthday concert thus the MM.
Motteke Sailor Fuku - 2010 Sakura Gakuin concert. On RUclips. A ton of Sakura Gakuin on the tube.
Si quieres ver un buen solo de la kamiband te recomiendo que reacciones a la canción de rondo of the nightmare en vivo será tu favorita.
Sakura Gakuin suggestions?👇
Motteke Sailor Fuku of course!
Yui's Depression. It's so kawaii! ruclips.net/video/KYbbCsyeCkM/видео.htmlsi=hPbF3kA4xGKxJ-yA
@holliwouldifshecould Will check it out! 😁
I heard this was meant at another go at metal heads that did not like Babymetal cost it was not "real" metal. "oh my!" : because it is different and not quite right what side if metal is this - oh my ! "yava !"
Did u chance your mic? !!!!
That song is Ska, not swing...
Both are subgenres of jazz.
You are right about Clint Tustin being a guitarist first bassist second, but Ryan Neff is a bassist.
Tustin can play multiple instruments, so can pretty much the entire western Kami band. Barone is a guitarist as well. 😆 Pick is standard for modern metal. BOH is moving to pick as well. Somehow turning the ability to play more than one instrument into a negative is hilarious.
He's a multi-instrumentalist. It's better than just being a bass player, man. That's why I like Clint more!
Who the hell interrupts a guitar solo? Seriously? You can't wait until the end of the intro to talk? So disrespectful.
