    The area surrounding flagstaff looks awesome for full time boondocking all summer long, assuming wildfires don't chase you away. I'm thinking I may try the area for summer 2021. Lots of free 14 day areas all around with flagstaff centrally located.

    Hey, guys I finally got the Garmin coordinates converted so they work in Google Earth and also Google GPS. This is for the driveway entrance you see in the video. Just drive on out on the field and pick your spot. See you out there!

      Just checked it out and surprise! It's where we camped. The ground was way too soft for a heavy motorhome when we were there, but there are a few small spots as you head to the hilltop. Also, you can get trapped and have to back out like we did. The through road takes a sharp, steep turn.

    I know, summer camping can be tough. Everyone wants to camp under the cool pines, but you can't turn around, roads can be bad, and your solar won't work. That looks good, nice and clear.

      Thank you! RUclips rabbit hole is a perfectly awesome term! :D Mike and I have both spent our lives in the mountains from childhood on up and neither of us has ever encountered a bear. It is actually a rare thing to see compered to the amount of times people go into the woods. Have you encountered a bear? We'd love to hear about it.

    In the woods, looking for a spot with no trees 🤔 . And usually, when you are having trouble breathing while riding in your RV, you've probably gone to high. Altitude sickness is no picnic , and can be very dangerous.

    • @JeanneKnits
      @JeanneKnits 7 лет назад +2

      MrMark85044 No, coordinates don't translate exactly like that. These coordinates put you out by
      Winona. They are actually off of the road to Sunset Crater NM. Try these - 35.3835170°, 111.5551170°

    • @Boondockabillies
      @Boondockabillies  7 лет назад

      No, we were not in New Mexico. We gave her the coordinates. We were outside Flagstaff Arizona.

    • @JeanneKnits
      @JeanneKnits 7 лет назад

      Boondockabillies NM = National Monument. Sunset Crater National Monument is just NE of Flagstaff. I was saying that the coordinates the other guy gave were wrong. If you plug his into Google it doesn't show where you were. I was trying to help others look up the location in online format.

    Did you actually stop and park on a road to boondock ?

    • @Boondockabillies
      @Boondockabillies  8 лет назад

      +John Tardif Hi John, we will probably address that question in a video. Lots of folks wanted to know. Short answer, no it is a small loop off of a forest road, off of another main forest road, off if the main road.

    That has to be the most scenic boon docking spot I've ever seen. How far off the road were you? Is there a rule that you have to be off the road a certain distance while boon docking on BLM land?

    Did you stay right there or did you pull off the road? How about turning around?

    • @Boondockabillies
      @Boondockabillies  8 лет назад

      Hi Barney, this was actually a small loop off the road, so we were essentially off the road if you know what I mean lol. The surrounding ground was flat and drivable. We didn't want to risk getting the heavy RV stuck as it had rained and softened the ground a lot, so we unloaded the dolly and backed up to a wide spot and turned back to the main forest road.

    Hey guys I saw your video on how you came to live in Rv full time. I'm 49 yrs old and have degenerative disc disease like Mike and can only walk with a cane or am tall so I use a walking stick. Anyway y'all talked about doing a video on changing your diet and if wAs helping Mike out with his health problems. I have looked and cant find it , have you made that video and if so can you tell me the title so I can watch? Also if you haven't would you please make it?. I got lucky with my disability i paid off the disability insurance through t he company I worked for so they are paying me a portion of income. I'm still waiting on SSID to rule on my case. Anyway love your videos you guyed are awesome!

    Not sure but it looks like you consider it proper to camp in the roadway making it hard for anyone else to get in?

    • @Boondockabillies
      @Boondockabillies  6 лет назад +1

      +Jim Hanks A couple of other people assumed we were being buttheads but I told them what I'll tell you. 1. This was a loop off of a loop off of another loop off the main road, which was off the highway, so thete is nowhete to "get in" 2. The Forest Service Ranger was the only other person or vehicle anywhere near us, 3. Who then told us it was fine, especially since 4. The ground was too soft for our coach to take offroad right there and we eventually had to unhook the toad and dolly, back up down the road and slowly turn around to rehook everything and go. Some people are too eager to criticize. I am so glad you asked me instead of making rude assumptions.
