This is the only product I've found that removes original gasket material from late 70's & early 80's Japanese motorcycle engines. I must have tried 15+ products/chemicals and CRC was the clear winner. Something about those old gaskets, heat, oil and time that turns them harder than the aluminum surface. The CRC works but needs multiple applications and scrubbings. Still looking for an easier way but at least this works.
Thanks for the video, I've only used this on paint but I wonder how aircraft paint remover would do, it bubbles up right away on contact so you'd want to wear gloves and a mask! btw, I can't believe you have a Skill Supertwist I haven't been able to find one of those in 20 years!
Both have the same no no chemicals: Dichloromethane and Methylene chloride... though some APRs still have methanol and xylene to boot. But the real workhorse in these is MC.
Thank you for the video. I was looking for your feedback on wether or not this product would damage a cv boot. I sealed a small tear in a boot to put off replacing the cv axle right now, and ended up covering the band. I want to remove the gasket ( permatex blue ) off of the band but wondering if crc would damage the cv boot. Any thoughts about this product would be appreciated thank you.
Le Mans yeah ! .had to laugh at the big adjustable eFF oFF spanner on the wall, looking for powder coat removal found me here - someone used the stripper to do that..seems to work, carefull though this stuff can be absorbed through the skin....gloves then

I had a tough gasket stuck on a Toyota 4 Runner, hopefully this works.
Thanks for the video.

It helps to have an aluminium 5mm flat bar (about 30mm wide) with a chisel ground end. Found that tip on a different YT video.
It works real good on rubber gaskets, also you're nuts not wearing gloves while working with that stuff, it's basically a paint stripper!

It shouldn't damage the boot but I'd try a small area first to see if it effects the rubber.
Thank u sir for helping me out u save my Life

Highly recommend switching to some gloves. Nasty stuff!
Is this safe on aluminum? TY
Yes, I've left it on overnight on alloy parts with no issues.
@@MikesMachines thank you
