Taiwan has surprised us in so many ways! Please subscribe if you enjoyed this video! Let us know where you are from with a flag in the comments, we'll go first: 🇿🇦
I've been to over 20 countries and just visited Taiwan for the first time and can honestly say it's my favourite so far. Heavily underrated and a hidden gem. The people are incredibly hospitable and will go the extra mile to assist you even if they don't speak much English, the food is amazing, the ease of transportation is super convenient and the country as a whole is pocket friendly so if you're a budget traveller it's an ideal place to visit.
Lol thanks guys. My parents are Taiwanese and I was born in America, but I have lived in Taiwan for more than half of my life. I have been to over 15 countries and I have to admit that Taiwan is the most convenient for transportation compared to any other country I have been to. The food is also the best. The people and culture are the best. I have nothing else to say, but it definitely is my favorite. I'm just proud to say, "I'm a Taiwanese."
“kiss and ride” is a temporary drop off/pick up spot, so you kiss your loved one goodbye after being dropped off (or greeting kiss being picked up) at the station. You two are excellent tour guides for us viewers! I visited Taiwan a few months ago and rode high speed train too. I want to go down south next time after watching you guys having so much fun!
Well done video. I studied at the Stanford Center in Taipei 1972-73 and worked for the National Palace Museum 1978-80. My daughter was born in Taiwan and my wife is from HK. I'm looking forward to getting back for a visit.
Kudos to the creators for crafting a truly exceptional video that meticulously navigates the cultural landscape of Taiwan, unfolding its myriad facets as we traverse from the northern tip to the southern reaches
I'm Taiwanese, living in Kaohsiung. So glad you enjoyed trip here!! I am also left-handed, it's ok to use chopsticks with left hand. And it's really a saying that left-handed people are smart 😂 For high speed railway, because you don't have enough time. Actually you can just get on the train, no matter which car number is, and then walk inside the train to your car number and straight for your seats.😊 For "Kiss and Ride", actually that translation was been on the news before. 🤣 Because it's not normally use. It's means "Pick- up Area".
And for claw machines, it's depends on the owners of machines. Because some are rigged, and most of them have a guaranteed price. If you play (spend) it for the guaranteed price, and you can get it. And Kaohsiung Ligh Rail, you can use your easy cards to take the light rail. It was still under construction at 2023, and all done this year.
@@ShevandDevI'm only halfway through the video you don't do the east coast? That's the best part of taiwan. How much Taiwanese tour guide and we pretty much only do the East Coast even though we are stationed on the West Coast.
One of the best reports of Taiwan I have ever seen. I am from Germany spending a lot of time here. Will follow your report while having Breakfast and enjoying my coffee in the morning
I was really moved when I watched this video. The statue at the end is Xuantian Shengdi, a deity in Taoism, commonly worshipped by people on both sides of the strait. Our tradition involves celebrating every 12 years, equivalent to the Chinese zodiac cycle. When it's time to welcome Xuantian Shengdi, the village throws a grand feast, inviting friends from all over to share in the joy. Welcoming Xuantian Shengdi is akin to welcoming peace, and this is a common tradition across the Taiwan Strait. It feels so familiar and heartwarming. Thanks to the blogger for sharing.
Thank you for introducing Taiwan to YT's audiences. It's a lot of fun with amazing food and a great public transportation system. It's truly underrated as atrourist destination.
Taiwan is so advanced and beautiful people and nice. I am not Taiwanese. When I was in Europe, they said it’s poor country and dirty, I was laughing and they are so much behind Taiwan. ❤ euro think Japan is the only advanced not others asian countries
Every Taiwanese can directly elect the president with their own votes. Taiwan has its own national flag, political system, military, economy, and currency. Taiwan was founded earlier than the CCP; Taiwan is absolutely an independent country that has nothing to do with the CCP. The CCP is trying to brainwash its citizens and annex the assets of Taiwanese people.
@@djzhang1710Taiwan has its own flag, its own passport, it's on currency, and the most progressive government in all of asia. It's literally the exact opposite of China. But if you want to lie to yourself and pretend it belongs to third world China....you can.

🇺🇸🇹🇼 the card game they are playing is called “The Big Two”. You can play it with poker cards or multiple decks of poker cards. The goal is to get rid of all the cards as quickly as possible. It’s kind of like a trick taking game (like hearts) mixed with poker. You shuffle the deck and deal all the cards out evenly amongst all the players. The first player can play a single card, a pair, 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind or a full house (2 of a kind + 3 of a kind). The next player must follow the same (a single, a pair…) but the value must be equal or larger or pass if you cannot play the same. The largest number is 2 and it wraps around with 3 being the smallest. Suites also matter in the same order as poker. You may pass strategically and jump back in later as long as not everyone has passed. You continue following the same until everyone has passed. The winner of the round starts the next round deciding the new pattern everyone must follow in the new round. Whoever is able to get rid of all the cards in their hand first is the winner.
Taiwan is very beautiful nation with lots of exciting places to visit. People are very nice and lots of different street foods to try. Love your videos.

1:12:45 that game is called "big 2", super fun game with ideally 3-4 people where instead of Ace being the trump card, 2 is the best in the game! Just imagine 3 players, with the deck split evenly between the 3. You can play most poker hands (singles, pairs, straight, full house, four of a kind, royal flush, etc.) in response to other people. Whoever discards all their cards first wins. Very fun game you should learn it, very simple to pick up as well. So a few rules: > If you win the current hand, you could put whatever hand next. Eg. you put down pair of Ace and no one else wants to challenge, you can begin next round with whatever hand you desire > If opponent puts down pairs, you have to put down pairs of higher value/suit, else you pass. If opponent puts down full house, you can only play full house, etc. > Four of a kind/royal flushes are rare, so they're considered "bombs". No matter what hand the opponent plays, you can throw down a bomb in response. (As long as your bomb trumps his bomb, like a King four of a kind > Jack four of a kind) > Royal flush bombs trump Four of a kind bombs. Random stuff: > People across Asia have different house rules, different suit orders, etc. Just ask the dealer how he likes to play and those are the house rules. e.g. some allow 3 of a kind, two pairs, some allow 3 of a kind to "trump" a two pair. I don't follow those rules cuz I think they're cheap hehe but play with whatever rules you like. > Whoever has 3 of clubs has to start the game with 3 of clubs (could be whatever hand, like a pair, straight, etc.) > So 52/3 isn't whole, there will be one mystery card left in the middle. Whoever has 3 of clubs (shittiest card in the deck) will take it to make their hand 18 cards (assuming odd number of people are playing) > The name is kind of a play on the Mandarin term "big 2", which could mean big dick, as in if you got the 2 of Spades you could "swing ur big dick around" lol.

26:05 If I recall correctly, the English used to make a sausage called black pudding by mixing beef blood with chip liver and rice and stuffing it into an intestine casing. I’m not sure if it’s still around, but I remember seeing it as a kid growing up. I'm originally from Scotland but have called Hong Kong home for over 20 years now and in that time I've visited Taiwan at least a dozen times. My first few visits were all short paid work visits but even during those where I had limited time to explore and it was all just Taipei, I absolutely fell in love with Taiwan. The people are incredibly friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and - as I found when I did longer self funded vacation trips - the nature and hiking is really fantastic. Taiwan for me is one of the most kind of under the radar gems for travellers. The number of times people have said "oh yes Thailand is great" and I've had to say "no - Taiwan!" 🙄😂
Those characters are from a gacha video game called Genshin Impact, by Hoyoverse. Gacha style games (like toy vending machines) are hugely popular throughout asia because they rely heavily on luck or chance. You will see them in japan and china too.
Yes Taiwan 🇹🇼 is influenced by Japan and South Korea since they r so close. U will see so much of anime and other Japanese and South Korean culture in Taiwan 🇹🇼.
I appreciate that you’ve taken a different approach from other bloggers who usually focus on China. * Your coverage of Taiwan is impressive and has given me a firsthand look at the country through the eyes of real fans.* Thank you for sharing your insights and experiences with us. I’m now considering visiting Taiwan soon, as it seems like a great travel destination, seeing China is falling off the travel trail. Taiwan is less known and less advanced than the representative countries of Asia - Japan and Korea - but I think it is a good place to travel! Affordable prices and friendly people!
There are very dense convenience stores in Taiwan’s urban areas ~ and they are open 24 hours a day. Convenience stores sell a variety of microwave foods (fried rice, noodles, pasta, cold noodles ~ you will be surprised by the microwave foods that are more delicious than expected) from all over the world Liquor (selling alcohol 24 hours a day), there are many gay-friendly shops in Taiwan, Taiwan is the first country in Asia to legalize gay marriage👏👍💪💖🇹🇼🌈
U 2 have to try all the food but especially beef soup noodles and zongzi and the baozis and Taiwanese dumplings and oyster omelet and roast beef and roast beef rice and all the soup noodles 🍜 gwabao (Taiwanese hamburger).
Those guards at the CKS Memorial Hall wearing blue uniforms simply because they are airforce. The other two branches of honor guard troop includes army and navy. They rotate these duties at this memorial hall and other posts. If you visit the same spot after two monthes you probably see these guards in green or white.

I'm from Taiwan. Don't play the claw machine, it's all rig. You can't win with normal method. There are technique where you grab the corner and swing the claw to have the prize fall to the hole. (there are some youtube video teach you this) But it's impossible to win if you do not know the method.
Kiss and Ride is a pick-up and drop-off point outside the railway station for passengers. We have them in Canada outside the metro stations usually at terminus points.
"Kiss and ride" is the area you temperarily park your car to drop and/or pick up someone. This is a common term used in the US. However, some have changed it to "cellphone lot".

it was very hot hahah😅
Those characters are from a gacha video game called Genshin Impact, by Hoyoverse. Gacha style games (like toy vending machines) are hugely popular throughout asia because they rely heavily on luck or chance. You will see them in japan and china too.
This was such a beautifully made video. Thank you for your great commentary which was so informative and awesome video editing. 🇺🇸
Thank you so much!😍❤️
Yes Taiwan 🇹🇼 is influenced by Japan and South Korea since they r so close. U will see so much of anime and other Japanese and South Korean culture in Taiwan 🇹🇼.
it was so cool to see how much everyone loved anime haha we didn't expect that!🤩
sorry, but Taiwan is really not influenced by South Korea.
Japan has influenced Taiwan cause we got a period of history ruled by Japan.(50yrs)
Most video we can find about china on RUclips now are paid foreign bloggers to help boost back it tourism. Many be scared now to visit for its unforeseen breakout.
Shev & Dev:Congratulations to you guys for heading Taipei, Taiwan last week from the Philippines in Southeast Asia to released this amazing video in great joy & peace 2023❤❤❤

大老二(dalaoer) is a 4player- card game where 2 is the biggest )instead of As) each will get 13cards and who finishes getting rid of the cards first wins. You start with the smallest card ie 3 ♦️ ( cards can be disposed in 1, pairs, triplets or 5s (similar to gin rummy))
Taiwan looks so beautiful. I want to visit there someday. Thank you from Korea.

Taiwan is less known and less advanced than the representative countries of Asia - Japan and Korea - but I think it is a good place to travel! Affordable prices and friendly people!
Taiwan is far more advanced than we thought and it is entirely impressive 😍
"I'm so hungry because Devon ate all of my sushi 🍣" 😂😂😂😂lol.....cheeky guy.....😜

The Anime characters are just mobile games advertisements. you can find a few online gaming cafes around taipei, they're pretty discrete
101 is cool , hope you saw the flower market Saturday in Daan ,
what a great video, i hope you visit more places, like i guess Indonesia? i'll wait your video then..
We have just made our first video in Indonesia on our channel now❤️🔥
小時候還沒有珍珠奶茶出現之前,所謂珍珠是叫粉圓而且比較小顆,它是用在刨冰冰品上的添料居多。
I don't think Taiwan is underrated at all. Tons of foreigners here everywhere I go in Taipei.
U 2 have to try all the food but especially beef soup noodles and zongzi and the baozis and Taiwanese dumplings and oyster omelet and roast beef and roast beef rice and all the soup noodles 🍜 gwabao (Taiwanese hamburger).
we loved all the soup dishes the most and the dumplings of course 😍
I would like to say that despite being from Taiwan, I actually learned so much about my own country in this video.
Those guards at the CKS Memorial Hall wearing blue uniforms simply because they are airforce. The other two branches of honor guard troop includes army and navy. They rotate these duties at this memorial hall and other posts.
If you visit the same spot after two monthes you probably see these guards in green or white.
The smile on her face and the stall owner lady was priceless. Beautiful. Language and race are no barrier to love and respect each other. We are all from the same human parents long long back, got separated, but now coming together again
I'm from Taiwan.
Don't play the claw machine, it's all rig. You can't win with normal method.
There are technique where you grab the corner and swing the claw to have the prize fall to the hole. (there are some youtube video teach you this)
But it's impossible to win if you do not know the method.
Kiss and Ride is a pick-up and drop-off point outside the railway station for passengers. We have them in Canada outside the metro stations usually at terminus points.
WELCOME TO TAIWAN ❤
You both are beautiful, inside and outside ❤ your energy and how to handle people and situations... ❤
Taiwan 🇹🇼 is a beautiful country.
Loved every second of being here! We will be back 😍
just a little province of PRC
@@hyjcxyz In your imagination?
@@Ell.06most countries in the world recognize that.
@@langchan4353 Yeah because they are forced to recognise it
The card game is called Big 2, its a popular game similar to pie gow poker. Really enjoyed the video guys!
Taiwan is interesting to explore...... I will come back one day!!!
Try gwaobao (Taiwanese hamburger) and Taiwanese fried rice and fried chicken and omeso ( Taiwanese skinny noodles) and shumai and gwaobao.
Taiwanese food is the best in the world. There is a reason y people call Taiwan 🇹🇼 food paradise and no other country.
the food was top notch 😍
Changing of the guard is cool , did you miss all the stuff below it ?
"Kiss and ride" is the area you temperarily park your car to drop and/or pick up someone. This is a common term used in the US. However, some have changed it to "cellphone lot".
This couple is fun to watch as they play off each other well.
PS - Who doesn't this the Apple Store is the happiest place on Earth? 😁
