That "security lance" definitely feels like a second line/garrison fire support lance to me. None of those mechs have a particularly good reputation in universe, so I can see them being left behind to defend. The 3025 Whitworth is actually a really solid mech, but the 3050 "upgrade" is beyond awful :(
This is a good breakdown. Its helping me sort through my own mind which ones to get. I bought at the Battalion Level so I have a lot of force packs to figure out.

The first two packs of Buy two are on my list and so is the Mercenary Starter box. . . I want infantry spotters for my Javelins. And I like the Helo options so I can simply ignor the map.
Now I'd like to see a tier list of AGoAC packs and other packs released since then, except the Clan Invasion ones that were already rated, to make the BackerKit choices easier. I'm in the process of compiling information from TROs to make my choices, but goddamn the list of individual Mechs and vehicles is big.
Would you do one of these for the Mercenary Lance packs we got in between the Clan Invasion while waiting for the Kickstarter (Wolf's Dragoons, ELH, Kell Hounds, etc?)? I couldn't find where you talked about them. There aren't many. Was curious which ones you thought were best.
I liked that they had the units from the alpha strike box and the merc box. Allowed me to get extra mechs without having to buy all the extra stuff in the boxes (rules, books, etc.)

As for the Mauler, yeah, I love the looks, dont like the loadout. In my own Battletech lore, Fandragon, after a year of service with a militia group, was to be gifted a beat up old Mauler that his Militia unit had under repairs in the hangar. However, the entire militia was almost wiped out and in a last ditch defense, Fandragon fired up the half repaired Mauler and rallied a remaining platoon of Alacorn tanks and some infantry. The sudden arrival of a 90t mech shifted the momentum of the battle and the attackers were routed. The survivors later made him the militia leader and he went on to form what is now the Knights Republic Legion(KRL). The KRL insignia is my youtube avatar. Yes its a canadian flag maple leaf with some other stuff on it. That Mauler he later fixed up and named it "Solid". The loadout consisted initially of 4 ERML, 2 PPC and 2 LRM10s(His unit was in the process of overhauling it completely). The current iteration is 4 CERML, 2 KR ERPPC and 2 DRILLZ 10 missile launchers, the last KR and Drillz being KRL brand weaponry.
Commercially - no idea. The Kickstarter rewards are supposed to arrive by June 2024. But this is a kickstarter, so give or take roughly 6 months to a year. CGL does seem to have a lot already in production - but they want to deliver in just one wave, so anything that expanded the KS (like the Somerset Strikers) may have delayed the release. It is a kickstarter, so realistically, it is VERY hard to pin down a release date. And for commercial release afterwards, I'd expect 2-3 months at least for the first packs... maybe.
@@CMDRFandragon I think the last day is the 15th of September for late backers. So, yes, but only for a short time. I've never late backed, but there appears to be a link on the Battletech Mercenaries kickstarter page.

The Battle Armor and vehicle packs honestly should be no less than 8 for IS and 10 for Clans for 20 bucks.....little infantry and tanks for 30-40 bucks? Oooof.

nice go over of the force packs. Personally there are a few mechs that I know that I'll want more than one of. I love the Battle Armor, will have to wait till the pledge manager to decided on how I'll proceed on that one. I was honestly thinking of getting 2 of the Battle and fire, and attempt to convert the extra SRM launchers into Arrow IV launchers, so that I could potentially use these as Arrow IV carriers. Then again at double battalion I'll have a lot of forcepack selections available... Any good tips on reposing the plastic mechs? If I get the urge to make a old SLDF cache unit then I'll need to repose a lot of mechs. Hope to see some more battle armor designs (like the Raiden, Fenrir, the whole Grey Death Line (Infiltrator, heavy, standard, scout), kishi, and more...saw that there are some new designs in the Rec.Guides for ilclan, hope to get the printed version of these soon).

I’m probably not going to be able to up to battalion, as I want some of the other swag. As a result I need to be discerning about selections. All 5 mechs in the Direct Fire Star are used by wolf at the time of the Clan Invasion, while the Cavalry Star only contains 4 mechs used by Wolf at the time of the Invasion (they use all 5 eventually). I personally paint my Wolf in the colors of Beta Galaxy - Tan on the top, gray on the bottom.,
Full agreement. Very excited for the Clan packs. The IS Standard BA was an interesting idea, but falls a little flat for me in terms of overall value. Haven't seen the retail price point, but (fancy new sculpts aside) I'm going to guess that you can do a lot better through Iron Wind on these. Would have been cool though if they surprised us with an early IS Omni to pair with this BA.
@@SleeplessRonin Ohhhhh ok. I totally missed that and had been under the impression the urbie lance was part of the KS. That may mean it arrives sooner, then. I have big plans for a Solaris themed campaign, and that urbie lance will go a long way with that.
a mars elegoo saturn S is available online right now for $100. i plan on using a 3d printer for all my tanks because i dont really care about the precise looks of tanks as much as i do the mechs. i got a battallion pledge and im going for mechs only with my credits
The kickstarter has ended, but when the Pledge Manager opens (not sure when) you'll be able to late-pledge (I assume if it works like every other KS I've ever done). I'd follow Catalyst on Twitter, or go to Kickstarter and search for the project - then follow. OR you can wait until it releases to retail which according to the KS will be after June 2024 (although there are rumors that Catalyst wants to get it to backers earlier - but I cannot confirm this).

Can confirm the Blood Asp, and Sommerset Strikers pack will be add-ons only in the pledge manager.
All the mechs in the legendary pack 3 are all mechs piloted by the various incarnations of the bounty hunter through the eras
The other thing I love about the Hatamoto-Chi is it very clearly looks like a modified Charger. You really see it's ancestry.

The Support and Calvary Id say its the best pack of all offered so far.
They are going to have the Legendary Salvage boxes as well as the Vehicle, and Mech Salvage boxes.
What I heard that I am 100% going to do is to use the spare turrets for the LRM and SRM tanks as stationary turret terrain.

It is quite the nice little sink for just 319 BV2, and quick at 6/9.

merc box is great apart from that quickdraw its trash always, and the game gets beaten towards the Ontos and behemoth

Not a part of the Kickstarter. The Urbie lance, GDL, and Proliferation cycle boxes are 'coming soon' and were not part of the KS.

I would have been more excited if it were any other battle armor. I would buy a four pack of sloths before Standard.
