Another great video! I loved your food reviews, good or bad. My hubby and I are sailing on Apex as our first Celebrity cruise. Your videos are always very enjoyable. Colleen, you looked lovely in your dinner attire at each restaurant. I loved the chunky blue necklace, it looked very nice. ☺
Yes yes yes. We just came of our second celebrity cruise last month. Yes the main dining room was good. So good did we find it , we did not use the specialty restaurants. We very highly recommended it🏖️
Did you guys do Anytime dining or Late dining? Love the Carnival reservation system but not sure whether there would be a long wait for Anytime dining. Thanks!
We actually had the late dining time, but honestly the staff told us it didn’t matter and we could show up when we wanted. The longest we waited was three minutes.
I really enjoy your commentary and review on the food. I wish the camera would capture a still of each menu item or show it on screen longer. Your descriptions are fantastic, and I like your delivery more than most cruise food commentators. Please still the frame on each food item a little longer.
I agree: your honest reviews are so wonderful. As another suggestion, please consider showing the full menu for each restaurant. I understand that menus can change, but it's nice to see what kinds of things were on offer.
There is usually an early show and a late show. So we usually do dinner at 7ish to get the late show. But considering you don’t need dinner reservations you can really flex your schedule. I would suggest starting your dinner 2 hours before your show. That will give you 75 minutes to eat, 15 minutes to walk to the venue having you arrive 30 minutes before the show.
Hi . We are considering a transatlantic cruise on celebrity apex . Just wondered , we have only cruised on P&O which is british based , is apex multi national or based mainly around the american market food and entertainment wise . Any advice gratefully received Barry
Barry, thanks for the question. So you will find a large amount of Americans and Canadians onboard, but I know plenty of folks from the UK sail on Celebrity as well. While you won't find high tea, the food is wonderful (by far our favorite to date). Having visited London, I think you will enjoy the food. The entertainment is good too, we enjoyed the smaller performance spaces vs. the main theater (Eden was our favorite place for evening entertainment). The energy is very high on Apex, but in a good way (not out of control way) and the other guest were super fun (we probably met more people on this cruise than any other cruise).
I have just been to Iceland on Apex from Southampton and a large percentage of the passengers were American. The theatre is technically amazing with a mixture of company shows and mainly British acts with an international flavour, all at a high standard. On departures from the UK, kettles are provided in staterooms and the menu in the main dining rooms is slightly altered to appeal to British tastes. Bread and butter pudding was available in the buffet restaurant and highly recommended.
Thank you for your review. Planning first ever cruise end of November. So glad to have found your channel. I saw on other reviews (channels) you can opt for open seating without reservations! What do you recommend as far as reservations on APEX?
We had selected late dining, but turns out if you are a party of two it doesn’t seem to matter if you select a time or do a reservation for the main dining.
It honestly doesn’t matter. We had a fixed time and basically showed up whenever we wanted. We eat later typically, so never ran into an issue with waiting.
There is a kids club onboard, not sure about the kids menu. We did some looking online but couldn’t find anything. While we love Celebrity, Royal Caribbean is geared a lot more towards families.
Good call out. Now that you mention it, it is a bit odd not to have one sit down option for lunch in the MDR. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
I love your series Navigate the Plate. Your honest opinions are really refreshing compared to some videos I have seen regarding cruise dining
Thank you so much. We alway like trying new things on the channel I am glad that you are finding this series useful.
Your videos are a great help in planning our Apex journey, thank you
Thank you! Apex is a great ship and we know you will have a great time!
Colleen is adorable & your video was very informative to someone like my husband & I who will soon be traveling on the Apex. Great job!
Thank you so much! Have a great cruise.

Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Great job! Is Apex and Beyond MDR food exactly the same?
We will be on Beyond in April of 2024, but typically menus are the same on ships.

@@NavigateWith Good to know, thanks! Will stick with anytime dining for now
We are on the Apex next spring. On booking they told us the late dinner was full, we are on wait list for late dining. We found this strange.
@@evenstargalaxy9586so how did they handle your late dinner on Apex?
Going in Nov. Just curious
@@chloe5susan I called them, they were able to switch us to late dinner. All good.

Loving these blogs guys. What time would you suggest for dinner under the Celebrity select to coincide with shows?

If you don’t have the drink package, how much is a glass wine at dinner (average wine)?
Good question about $9-$15 from what I remembered. Often you are better going with a bottle vs. a glass!
Very useful reviews
Thank you, we try!
With main dining, do you rotate through them?
You can or you can go to a different one every night. You can also make a reservation at any of them as well!

Thanks for not wasting food for the purpose of showing us more dishes.
We try to eat the same on vacation as we do at home. Also, both of us were raised not to waste food!
What if we chose fixed dining time?
It honestly doesn’t matter. We had a fixed time and basically showed up whenever we wanted. We eat later typically, so never ran into an issue with waiting.
Did the Apex have a children's menu? If so, what menu items were on the kids menu? Are there any activities to do for kids?
There is a kids club onboard, not sure about the kids menu. We did some looking online but couldn’t find anything. While we love Celebrity, Royal Caribbean is geared a lot more towards families.
Don't worry about the kids. They'll bend over backwards. You ask, they find it. This applies pretty much to anything
No. Go on a Disney cruise if you have kids
@@wesleybrown9734 Hate kids much???
the issue here is where is lunch served ???
We did the buffet, Mast Grill, and Eden for lunch.
Celebrity Beyond lunch is served twice in a 10 nights cruise , the rest of the days is the specialty restaurants or the Buffet. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.
