Quick how to on checking and refilling transmission T-box oil on the Dixie Chopper Zero Turn Lawn Mower. An important preventative maintenance item to keep an eye on
The oil specified in the manual is 90W Gear Oil
The service interval for checking is every 50 hours.
This tractor is a Dixie Chopper XW2000 zero turn mower with a 60 inch mower deck with a 20 HP Kohler gasoline engine.

I just checked the level in my T box and it was alarmingly low. Filled it up to the same level you have there. My cover has a screw-top lid but no dipstick. I think it would hit the cross shaft.

Awesome you have the screw top lid at least! I wonder if there is only a screw top and no dipstick, what you said makes sense with it hitting. I'm guessing there must be some expected amount of usage or loss from the T box considering it says to check every 50 hours. That seems like a very short window. Glad you caught yours and got it topped up.
