Your playing is insane. The inspiration of Phillip is there, you are probably the only one I have seen play like this, on the same shelf where Philip is, a special one. Bravo!!!
Thanks a lot ! You have good ears man, that's exactly what I ear too, and imagine the feel with your fingers on the strings, it's like the amp would play itself, it's crazy.
Man, you have good ears!! I am still working on training mine, I just got to the point where I can recognize the Open/Cowboy Chords in a song so I can play it by ear.
Man, i already have 2 custom by cougar amps, i thought i was set for life then i heard this. Congrats man as good as this amp sounds your playing is still the star of the show, you just keep getting better
Man, that amp sounds great! You really can play brother!! Man, there is no Blues like the Psychedelic Blues!! Gotta to me my favorite music along with Psychedelic Funk! Both of which James Marshall Hendrix had a HUGE hand in forming!! I guess that is why Jimi Hendrix is not only my favorite guitarist, he is my favorite musician, followed by Curtis Mayfield, George Clinton/Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown, Bootsy Collins, and last but certainly not least, Ice-T along with his rap career also the awesome music he did with Body Count.
Incredible versatility! The Blues switch gives it a cranked tweed sound to my ears. The Rough knob is a great thing too for extra gain staging and feel. If the options were footswitchable you probably wouldn’t need any gain pedals at all, crazy good amp!
Awesome tones man. Could you do a video comparing the Sapphire and the Zircon? Would love to hear the differences and which gets closer to the gnarly sayce tones.
They're different, the Sapphire is like a Super Reverb on steroid and less subtle than the Zircon which is more clean and powerful, with a different dynamic and feel. Both are fantastic to be honest !
This amp sounds killer, and your playing and tone always inspires me to play guitar right away. I really want to order this amp but global shipping is so expensive 😢 And I wonder the sound difference between 4x10 vs 2x12 speakers with Zircon!! Can you take this video soon?
Yes unfortunately shipping nowadays is crazy expensive, for all of us man. It's a shame. I always preferred the 410 because it sounds bigger and more open than a 212 👍😊
Thank you! They're very different, not the same dynamic, same feeling as well, both are fantastic. Zircon has more power and headroom, and a dynamic that is to me unmatched by any amps I've tried before. Sapphire is more like a super reverb on steroid with a larger versatility than a super reverb, it can be cranked earlier than the Zircon and has another dynamic. I love both lol
hi there, amazing as always. Do you have this amp / setup recording in a studio situation? or maybe you have a Record a i do not know about where i can hear it with a band etc... Thank you so much!!
I know you are very inspired by SRV. So I would be very interested to see you do a review on some Strat size lipstick pickups like SRV’s Charley Strat. I’m very interested in them myself and there isn’t a lot of videos on them. And you would be the perfect person to review them.
Thanks a lot ! I do use the TAD attenuator with my Super Reverb and the Sapphire but no need of it with the Zircon, thanks to its fantastic master volume. While the TAD Silencer is a very good attenuator, the Fryette is to me the very best unit currently existing. That's my next "big" purchase by the way 😊 Nothing better than it on the market.
@@tallegtoussaint Appreciate the info mate !! I have a fryette on order from thomann for like 2 months but no stock coming it seems haha. I got my first tubes just before , a 2555x silver jubilee. If it had spring reverb it would be my 100% dream amp. Its a great great amp that honestly works quite amazing without the attenuator but id love to try and thomann return is really cool. Great middle ground between slash and srv ( my fav players). Would love to try something like the Sapphire or Zircon someday, never played a spring reverb, sounds insane !!
Legendary Cougars amps haha ! Yeah it's the same kind of amp than a PS70, though I've spent 3 days comparing them both (PS70 and Zircon) and I preferred the Zircon, less cold and with a bigger dynamic and better master volume😊
@@tallegtoussaint Thanks for your reply. The PS70 doesn't break up like your Zircon. I think the X59 is more of that gainy flavor though. Grind and grit are not the goal of the PS70, rather it's supposed to be a big clean platform with lots of clean sustain, but you know that already. I have the PS70 and instead of EVMs, which I find very harsh and sterile with all of these kinds of amps, I use 100W Jensen alnicos in a closed back. There's nothing "cold" about the sound of this setup. I heard Sayce play the Sapphire and it sounded good. All these amps overlap in some way. It's good to see you keeping the amp and tone scene alive with your playing and great enthusiasm!
Sounds like my dream amp, but it's crazy expensive. After VAT and taxes, it's right around 5000 usd, where I live. On top of that, I'd need to buy a cabinet. Too much money for a bedroom warrior.
VAT and taxes seem to be nasty where you live man ! Sorry to hear that. About the price of the amp itself, considering it's all handmade, including the transformers and even the headshell, with the best components available, I'd say it's way under the price you pay for some other brands or names that don't even match the level of conception and finish this amp has 😊

Thank you very much for the kind words man ! Really appreciate it ! Cheers
What an amazing demo! This amp is incredible and your guitar playing is rich and powerfull, bravo Talleg, cool ;-)
Thank you very much for the kind words💥 !!
Fantastic. The tone is like a bell, but there’s an edge on the notes that really shines when you dig in on the attack.
The amp sounds fine. The "bell like tone" is the Strat. ☺
Man, i already have 2 custom by cougar amps, i thought i was set for life then i heard this. Congrats man as good as this amp sounds your playing is still the star of the show, you just keep getting better
Cougar Amps are legendary💥
Thanks a lot for the kind words man ! Glad you enjoyed the video !!
The amp sounds amazing but your playing matches the greatness of the tone too. Fingers + gear!! Thanks for the video
Thanks a lot ✌️💥
This is probably the best sounding amp that I ever heard on RUclips
Thanks a lot ! 💥💥
God damn... You could get some real live at carnegie hall tones outta that. Awesome playing. Wish i could play collins shuffle through that thing
I'm sure it'd sound huge 💥 I need to learn this song, it's been years I keep telling that lol
Sounds insane Talleg. Just added this to the top of my list of amps to own someday. Killer playing as always 🎸🔥🤝🏼
Thank you very much💥💥😊

Glad you like it ! Yes, versatility is the right word. You can do so many things with this amp !
Great glassy tone ❤
Thank you💥💥
Outrageous playing ❤
Thank you very much ! 💥⚡️
killer amp , need one ASAP
Whish I could afford one, beautiful sounding amp!
Thanks a lot man !

I'll try to film this soon ✌️🫡😂

I've never tried lipstick pickups and I'd love to, but I'm not planning on buying a set anytime soon sorry 👍😊
Will you showcase the switches on the back? Especially curious about hi-fi mode and how clean it can get
I'll do a video about the back plate💥👍👍
The video was too long to add the back but soon, promise !
Great amp and vid mate !! Was curious, do u use the silencer ateanuttor? or consider getting something like the fryette ps2a?
Thanks a lot !

How’s the sustain with equal amount of gain compared to your super reverb or the sapphire?
I couldn't say man sorry, sustain is also about your guitar, guitar setup, strings action and the way you play so I can't compare 😊
Speaker mic please
No mic used, just my phone 👍
Interesting.
Looks good now let's crank it
It's pretty crank in the video😂
is it a twin based amp?
Not at all 😊
more dumble based if you ask me
10 or 12 speakers?
4x10 EVM10M 👍💥
@@tallegtoussaintThose things are nasty. I want them! :D
🎩
😁
👕👍Great!
👖
Thank you😊💥
Sounds great but really it sounds pretty much like any other Fender/Dumble derivative
Thanks ! I'd say it's pretty normal since it's highly inspired by those amps 😊
With tweaks and improvement, which is always a good thing !
