They give it a wash and vacuum and then ask you to hand over $500? Seriously though, I can't think of anything that would need servicing in the first three years, besides new wiper blades and tyres (if needed). I think the brake fluid needs to be changed every two years, but what else? Don't software updates get delivered over the air nowadays?
Much reduced service - depends on the vendor. Normally it's annual for a check up and they change fluids, check the software, wearables. And its much cheaper then an ICE car. You check it by car, f.e. a BMW iX is scheduled for service for 30.000 km or 24 months, depends what comes first. For me it's really necessary to have a check up every 24 months. I am driving an EV too - you use it an appliance, you never go to a gas station anymore, so it's a good thing. Things wear out and it's not safe anymore after a while.
Just as well that it has a HUD because about 30% of the driver’s display is hidden by the steering wheel arc. Including the speedometer between 30 and 90 km/h. Yes it has a small digital speed readout in the centre, but why bother having a retro style analogue speedo if you can’t see it? Mercedes is not alone in having a driver’s display that can’t fully be seen because of the wheel. Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 suffer from the same. It’s almost as if the designer has thought “let’s put a wide aspect landscape display in front of the driver” without thinking about the information the driver needs in front of them.
This EQE looks better than the EQS, which is one of the biggest disappointments in car design history compared to its concept, but this jelly mould, wind tunnel design philosophy from Mercedes in the electric era is terrible. The previous and current generation of C Class proves you can make a swoopy, aerodynamic design look good. This is such a fall from grace for Mercedes in design, something that has been a strong suit even as their durability and quality have come down. I think this jelly mould design is an excuse for Mercedes so that they don't have to engineer better range efficiency.

You can choose between several screen faces - some analog some very digital, you will find a suitable one for sure.
