The enemies seem really bullet spongey and the animations seem like there's a really bad transition; but both could be solved pretty easy over the next three months while devs keep working on the game. Overall it looks really good and I'm a lot happier with my prepurchase, I was actually really offput by the first release trailer because I thought the game was going to be more silly and less edgy, but it really looks good between this and the customization deep dive. I'll trust the devs have something cooking for the story.
@@TheOnly-Semaj Honestly they were spongey in 1 and 2 as well. IDK maybe it got worse between games, either way I think they'll fix it. What might be cool is to have a difficulty mode special for people who want more challenge that makes it so everyone enemies and you do more damage
The gameplay was never really the problem because the gunplay looks good, the problem is it has nothing to do with the original three "Saints Row" titles
So what? That's what the original titles are for and it was pretty much done. The main point of a reboot is to take the core idea and take it in different direction. I wish the characters and environment emulated more of the first 2 Saints Row games, but we’ll have to wait and see what gameplay is like. Maybe they’ll surprise us. Apart from that, my biggest disappointment is the exclusion of being able to shoot a pistol/SMG with one hand. I loved that in the first two games. Felt awesome shooting a pistol with one hand, and if I wanted to go tactical & hold it with two hands then I could. Always holding the weapon with both hands makes sense but the gang member feeling it gave in the first two games is something I’m going to miss. Especially in the first game with holding the weapon sideways. That always felt awesome. Also, I didn’t see if we could revert to single wielding a weapon if we start to dual wield. I hope to fuck. we can. Being stuck with dual wield in SR3/4 sucked. - edit: they confirmed we can switch to and from dual wield so that’s one feared squashed.
I just want this to be a new Saints experience. I liked 2-3 but I knew SR4 flew over the shark and Gat Out of Hell felt too far from the series origin. Still okay in their own right, but SR4 they wrote themselves in a corner with aliens. I feel like this saint row creators will be the best studio to make a sort of open world super hero game, not DC or marvel but like the boys type stuff
Looks fun just the environment looks so bland compared to the previous games feels like I’m watching a gangstar New Vegas gameplay
My guy called Professor Genki Hello Kitty 😅
Ngl when I first saw this game I was hyped, but idk after some of this gameplay if I'm still on board lol
Lol the “Chalupacabra” food truck.
I have never beenore excited for a release actually. The graphics, the gameplay, the customization, I went ahead and pre ordered.
How many Cyberpunk 2077s, Battlefield 2042s, Fallout 76s and No Man Sky's y'all need to learn never to preorder? They won't run out of digital copies, always wait to see actual gameplay on your target machine.
@@ezequieljimenezgarcia5081 seriously though.
Looks amazing but dosent give off the same vibe like the older saints rows.
don't see why people give it all the hate. in my opinion it looks like it combines the best features of sr2 and sr3, not to mention combat and graphics. just hope the world is "alive", one thing that breaks the immersion of an open world game of this kind is if the city is dead
i really wish this didn’t have commentary over the game audio which i actually wanted to hear.
I wasn't a fan when the game was first announced but the more I saw the more I liked it and started getting excited, my girlfriend just got me the platinum version pre-ordered for our anniversary, I don't usually pre-order games but I didn't even try to say no

At 13:06 I believe that’s a Professor Genki Easter Egg probably. I’m not to sure if Professor Genki was In Saints Row 2 but he was in both 3 and 4 as well as having a side activity or activities for him.
The reception was so mixed because like with everything else nowadays, people are tribal, its either a or b, there's no middle ground anymore.
The more I see the more I cant wait to play. I preordered it already. This has everything I want in a game..customaztion,businesses & crew heists.
That's what I fear most people will want, ok-ish gameplay with pretty good customaztion and a horrible story and characters, which ,depending on how many are ok with a lazy wide appeal game with seemingly no passion put into, will most likely result in a sequel. Well, if so R.I.P Saints Row I guess
@@Lamapartiet driving physics is horrible enemies dont have bulletwounds shooting combat is terribile, better get this game for discount i doubt it will be a huge success,it looks like a 2010 game..
@@ludacorleone8563 Yeah I honestly would have hoped Volition would have made something way better in terms of gameplay, the customization is cool but I mean... who cares really, what's the point of customizing a character if the rest of the game is really bad lol. And the story is just awful (and apparently only 25 missions?? wth lol)
@@Lamapartiet showing some real fatherless behavior by imposing to people what they can and can't like.... on a mf videogame
@@conkersuprfan Are you seriously saying people will like what looks like (Granted I haven't played it, so could be great to play but I doubt it) weird and generally just clunky gameplay. I also never said people can't like it. I just said I hope most people don't, because I, and many other people, can see that the story and characters (from what we have seen) are only wide appeal watch dogs 2 characters :). People for some reason like fortnite and this seems to wanna be quite like that so I guess it makes sense, too bad they had to disrespect most of their original fanbase to do so however. But if you like mass-appeal hipsters as your main characters then you do you :D
This looks really good but one thing should be added is way more pedestrians or people walking around and stuff maybe more lights to look more alive
The gameplay looks pretty solid. I'd want to play this, though the new characters would take getting used to.

This very much has the “Just Cause” series gameplay mechanics
i hope we get 30-100 player lobbies. That'll make the game so completely perfect. 😂💯

Wow, this looks way better than I thought it would look. It’s also so smooth too with frame rate and what not. I’m actually really excited. And it comes out a day before my birthday!
It actually releases 22 August
The enemies seem really bullet spongey and the animations seem like there's a really bad transition; but both could be solved pretty easy over the next three months while devs keep working on the game. Overall it looks really good and I'm a lot happier with my prepurchase, I was actually really offput by the first release trailer because I thought the game was going to be more silly and less edgy, but it really looks good between this and the customization deep dive. I'll trust the devs have something cooking for the story.
They been spongy for a while since like Saints row 3
@@TheOnly-Semaj Honestly they were spongey in 1 and 2 as well. IDK maybe it got worse between games, either way I think they'll fix it.

@@terrellthaddies7867 well saint row needs it
I LVOE THIS GAME ALREADY
The gameplay was never really the problem because the gunplay looks good, the problem is it has nothing to do with the original three "Saints Row" titles
I mean story wise........u can really go back to that storyline via Saints Row 4 and its DLC
So what? That's what the original titles are for and it was pretty much done. The main point of a reboot is to take the core idea and take it in different direction. It shouldn't have that connection to the originals. Although I can agree with the argument that it could be called something other than Saint's Row but it's also just a name, it doesn't take anything from the originals.
@@Elwaves2925 I'm not saying that it doesn't, but what I am going to say is if it was named something else it wouldn't have been received so harshly by critics when the trailer came out
@@stefangreen3770 I agree a name change would have helped. They could have even kept the 'Row' part to maintain a connection. A better trailer would also have helped. 🙂

They need to go back to the gang element gameplay from 1 and 2.
I don’t care what anyone else says this looks so awesome!
Its 2022 and games still have that “cars disappear in the background the further they get” thing, thats is a little annoying because its still close enough to see the cars disappear and random cars just render. hopefully its better on next gen
This is funny. Trying to be different than Saint's Row 1-3 made it more similar to GTA V in the process. LOL
I do believe this game has potential if it isn't too whacky like Saints Row 4 and not a ridiculous storyline like Saints Row 4.
won a contest and got to Pre Order it for Free
Pretty excited play.
I just want this to be a new Saints experience. I liked 2-3 but I knew SR4 flew over the shark and Gat Out of Hell felt too far from the series origin. Still okay in their own right, but SR4 they wrote themselves in a corner with aliens.
I'm liking what I'm seeing, but after the last few open world games (except Elden Ring, bless that title) have been overhyped and undercooked so I'm cautious.
U mean saints row 1 - 2
Super exited for the game!
Looks like a return to form.
