This is so true. I'm an occupational therapist, and our national board exam is online/computer-based and proctored, so the system does know your score right away. There is no reason it can't tell you right away if you passed, like it does for nursing. But no. It makes you wait TEN DAYS. Passed thank God, but even though it was 6 years ago, I still remember that it was a very stressful 10 days haha
As the eldest brother in my family, I can safely say that's what my siblings said when I tried forcing them to tell me what I got for Christmas. Lol "Noooooooooo, that's illegal!!"
That's what got me with the nursing boards too - the moment the test finishes, the computer system knows if you passed or failed. But of course, you have to wait six weeks to get your results, or you can pay extra to wait only two days for "unofficial results" which are identical to the actual results. Would it kill these bodies to just tell us when they have the results?
To everyone not in med school, the reason for waiting until the end of the week to reveal match results is because the people who don't match at the beginning of the week still have a chance to "scramble" for an unfilled residency spot by the end of the week.
