I disagree, I think it's the opposite of a good format. Manufacturers should not really be involved in the test drive as it introduces bias and the reviewer will not criticize anything in the car with the manufacturer rep in the car. They can explain things to him before he takes the car for a test drive but it's super weird to babysit the reviewer during the entire test drive, beats the whole purpose of a test drive/review

I know… but it’s obviously being faked because all I ever hear is how boring EV’s are. The diehard petrolheads obviously know a lot about the ins and outs of daily driving EV’s because they don’t own or drive one.
I drove a grand touring last week, and the acceleration is mind bend it did 0-60 in under three seconds which almost felt like time was warped. I took the same route after the test drive and it was like the roadway seemed longer and more narrow in my personal vehicle.

I saw the Alcantara steering wheel in a friend's Cayman. It's only a year old, and the wheel looks disgusting and worn. There are bald patches on it where hour hands normally are. It looks and feels good when it's brand new, but deteriorates quickly.

We each had 45 minute sessions, and they were happening over a couple days. I didn't run into Mark or Jack this time, but I have no doubt they were there at some point.

My main issue is that it's an EV. If I drop quarter of a mil on a car, I BETTER heart a screaming 8, 10, 12 cyl engine (6 if it's porsche), NOT an EV. I wouldn't even bother getting a plaid, though I will agree that it's obviously better to buy one of those than this Lucid. Obviously Lucid isn't marketing to me as I'm an ICE guy through and through, but as a value proposition, I just don't see it. Maybe I'm just a 24 yr old boomer, but I just don't see the point of dropping this much money on an EV.
Imo, no one considers price once they are at that price point, it's only about whether they like the the car overall or not. If it was like that however, you would not see people buying cars like chiron just for that lil bit extra performance.

Also , people who own Plaids are usually business owners. People that will own Lucid Airs are probably Executive's, and people who own Bugatti's either lease them or are billionaires because most do decrease in value. That is a big difference of people in society - and .3 seconds the ECM can be reprogrammed for only 3k , so like i said it was not worth it. And I'm not even a fan of Tesla anymore, but they are innovative and more sustainable.

Can I be honest? I love speed and I am a diehard combustion fanboy but also think we should consider better ACTUALLY sustainable fuel sources and unique ideas. When EV fanboys (specifically tesla fanboys) bring up the horse carriage argument and that EVs are the future, it makes me sick knowing how wrong and pretentious they are. But even though I hate some EVs and dislike Tesla, what Lucid have done here is truly beautiful. This vehicle proves that some EVs should have a future. I saw one of these the other day, and I immediately thought it looked good. This is a very large car. Larger than most cars and suv's on the road. Hence all the space.
As an investor in stock (from the peak price 😢) I can’t say I’m excited about what they are doing. However, I love the product and have grown to like the designs. Just wish they were cheaper…like their stock 😂
Investor here as well. I sold and took a loss and rebought at a cheaper price and made up for my losses . Now I’m holding long term . Lucid will eventually make more affordable vehicles with different designs and models . Be patient.

Not sure about the trend in EVs having glass roofs, why not do non glass roof on all models to save weight and cost? As well as lower center of gravity, seems a no brainer, if anything this model should have CF roof.
You know how sometimes, if you have a somewhat quick car, you can accidentally zoom up to 90 or 100mph accidentally before noticing. I think this car would do that at about 140mph if you weren't careful.

Unlike gas powered cars you can make batteries from different materials and you can recycle them. With gas cars it's always coming from oil.

Investor here as well. I sold and took a loss and rebought at a cheaper price and made up for my losses . Now I’m holding long term . Lucid will eventually make more affordable vehicles with different designs and models . Be patient.

@@pwj86772 Lucid is owned 60% by the Saudi Arabian PIF . Moreover black rock and other institutions are also heavily invested. No need to spread unnecessary fear or misinformation. Lucid is just getting started and so far they have the fastest EV on the market. And many more surprises and models to come. Slow & steady wins the race every time.

Not sure about the trend in EVs having glass roofs, why not do non glass roof on all models to save weight and cost? As well as lower center of gravity, seems a no brainer, if anything this model should have CF roof.
I agree, also a metal roof is much safer.
This and the LC500 are some of the coolest cars in my opinion.

You know how sometimes, if you have a somewhat quick car, you can accidentally zoom up to 90 or 100mph accidentally before noticing. I think this car would do that at about 140mph if you weren't careful.

This car is a quarter million dollars, which of course they fail to mention. To say this is a Tesla killer is a joke, it’s 2 & 3/4's more money than a Tesla Plaid S without a reliable charging network, proven motor, battery, & critical component design & manufacturing reliability… if you want to gamble a quarter mil on this GOOD LUCK!!!
Torque vectoring is not EV exclusive, my 2019 RDX has torque vectoring.
