This comment was so interesting to me because it really looks so much like the Dominican flag! I was wondering when the republic was formed in its current state and did some research and discovered the Fourth Republic was formed in 1966 and this Barbie was from the 60’s. Such a strange coincidence. If barbies were available in the DR at that time I’m sure this one meant a lot to a few little girls. If not, then maybe to some who emigrated to the US mainland at least.
I remember years ago (back in the 90s) there was a talk show in which fans of Barbie were featured and it included a woman who made life size versions of Barbie fashions (and Skipper too!). I found it fascinating to see what life sized looked like. It was nice to see you do the same and with a very colorful dress as well! Well done!
When I was three years old my grandmother from England made me a beautiful pink dress and jacket and a matching one for the Barbie she got for my birthday it was absolutely wonderful. You making this dress reminded me of that.
I was born in 1956 and received a brunette 2nd run Barbie. Decades later my mom had a doll expert polish her up & make a bridal gown. It's in a custom shadowbox and I love it still. Bottom line, I adore your Barbie replicate vidros!💕💖💕
You could totally take after Bernadette and sew on extant pockets that are hidden in the gathers and are connected to the waist hem so that it doesn't weigh it down when you put anything in the pocket
I'm so happy to see your assistant looking well! I hope she will have no more health problems! And your thread drawer is delicious.. and the dress is so cute!
The double row of running stitches for the gathers is such a good tip. It’s kind of obvious when you see it but it certainly never occurred to me in all the years I’ve been sewing! So thank you for that excellent tip. The dress turned out really well and looks great on you. 😘
very interesting and informative: use of upholstery thread for gathering; how to sew between the two lines of gathering threads; keeping the big patch pockets clear....
Who else wishes that she would do a Collaboration with Barbie company and McCall’s company to make patterns for us?!!!!!! anyone else?( I rely on voice to text to make long comments due to delixia or however you spell it And sometimes forget that it doesn’t catch the words I say correctly !)
McCall’s already has & she has several patterns out through them. I have almost all of them & they are wonderful. You can find them anywhere McCall’s patterns are sold.
They way I genuinely gasped when you said you don't like pockets in skirts made me laugh way too hard. Anywho, you look like a special edition vintage stamp. I love it.
I'm curious if she dislikes all pockets for skirts or just poorly placed pockets 🤔 because a well placed pocket doesn't bulge or distort shape and is soooo liberating 😄
I can't help but imagine what would happen if I looked at that dress with the olden days 3D glasses (red/blue). And yes to a come back to barbie dress serie 👗
I love how you explain seeing terms and techniques as you vlog. Very helpful. Also, you are THE FIRST person I've heard describe gathering and attaching it like you do (and I watch A TON of sewing videos!) I have always done it your way and can never understand why the instructions say otherwise. I think your shallower hem works perfectly with the rick rack trim. Your analysis and thoughts on the project seem spot on. What a fun dress!
The school counselor in my middle school wore doll dresses every day and I didn't appreciate it enough back then. Seeing that perfectly square shape of the neckline brought back memories!
Omggg!!!!!!! Yes I’ve missed the Barbie videos! I collect vintage Barbies and I have this dress on a Midge doll, and her hair matches your hairstyle perfectly!
The dress turned out so good! This series always makes me want to make me sized versions of the crazy mid-late 90s Barbie outfits I played with as a small child
I have a lifelong admiration for vintage Barbie. I love this series. I understand it would be quite a challenging project but I would love for you to do #1646 Magnificence. It's one of my absolute favorite Vintage Barbie fashions. The design of the skirt/coat is very unique and the flocked floral design on the pink chiffon just screams vintage Barbie to me.
You should show these dresses at your county or state fair! They have handcrafts displays and give ribbons. I've seen cool displays, and think this would be so fun!
This is an interesting idea, I collect some Barbies too. You pulled this full size version off beautifully. Additionally as someone who researches fashion doll history, this is the modern evolution of the fashion doll. Keep working this topic, it’s unique.
I love the Barbie dress series! Do you have any plans for Barbie from the 80’s? As that was my childhood, those are the most familiar. I’d love to see Peaches and Cream Barbie, or I remember a red and white velvet one with hearts.
This looks amazing! Obsessed with the recreation of the scale, like we don't notice it on the dolls but doing it life sized is so attention grabbing and fun
It’s a lovely dress! I grew up in the 60’s and I think the front neckline is a little high. It’s a boat neck which goes across the top of your collarbones.
I'm excited to see the return of the Barbie dress series! It's so fun to see them recreated in full-size.
The dress remember the Dominican flag 🇩🇴. I am from Dominican republic. Maybe I can do it for our Independent Day 😁

DO ITTTtt!!!! Happy independence!
I didn't notice that at first but it really does. You should totally make this dress for D.R. Independence day.😁
I always love the barbie recreations! This one is so bold and really charming. The giant rickrack is crucial here!
Right I didn't even know rick rack that large existed I thought she had made some

As a Barbie collector and a costume designer, I love this so much.
I love these Barbie dress recreations, they're always so fun!
The Barbie dress recreations are some of my favourite videos.

This has made me want to make an inspired Fancy free Harley Quinn dress
I'm so glad that I'm not the only person who thought Harley when seeing this dress!
I think red color blocks with any dark counter part would cause that
I have missed the Barbie series! Glad to have more!

Have you ever thought of making an outrageous Barbie outfit, like from the 80’s dolls? Love this series!
You could totally take after Bernadette and sew on extant pockets that are hidden in the gathers and are connected to the waist hem so that it doesn't weigh it down when you put anything in the pocket

Dental floss works well as 'heavy duty' gathering thread as well, in a pinch...
Oh my goodness, this is GLORIOUS!!!!
That gathering tip was mind blowing!!! Thanks for sharing.
I can't say I like this dress, but dang, your excitement and craftmanship is infectious. 💚

@@TheWhiteMistress She meant to work in conjunction with Hasbro ("Barbie's Company") and McCall's to create life-sized vintage Barbie patterns.
@@Vivi-uu6rm oh okay, that would fun too.
What is a Kalab? Surely you know it's "collab" short for "collaboration"???
@@XX-cj9nu seems like we all understood what she meant, so surely you didn’t post a rude comment?
ANGELA. THAT GATHERING TIP JUST CHANGED MY LIFE!
They way I genuinely gasped when you said you don't like pockets in skirts made me laugh way too hard. Anywho, you look like a special edition vintage stamp. I love it.

I think she's clarified this over the years and, yes, it depends.
I love that your nail varnish matches your project!!
Beautifully done! Looking forward to more doll clothes for people!
I used to play with my aunt’s 1960s Barbies when I was little and they had this dress! :O never thought I’d see this again
That's cool!
This turned out so well. Everything is so clean and satisfying
Absolutely love the Barbie series!
This dress turned out so beautiful and flattering, love the vintage statement it makes
I can't help but imagine what would happen if I looked at that dress with the olden days 3D glasses (red/blue). And yes to a come back to barbie dress serie 👗
Thank you for the gathering lesson! I have had a problem with that. I will be doing this on my next skirt.
That your nails match the dress is 10/10 for me
I would love to see Barbie's Friday Night Date outfit. I think it's so cute! And looks like it might be up your alley.

You look cuter than Barbie!!!!! I had doubts about the dress, but you were right!
I love the recreation of the Barbie dresses!
Thank you for mentioning options for making the pockets work better, for those of us who MUST have them. :)
I love the way this dress turned out!
So adorable. I'd love to see some sort of original barbie type formal dress.
The thumbnail is so satisfying!
This would be a GORGEOUS apron pattern
I love your Barbie lifesize creations!
We love coordinating nails!
THANK YOU for the quick and dirty gathering tutorial. OMG It has been so perplexing to me!! Beautiful job on the dress too!
I really love this series.
This was a joy to watch. Well done. Respect.
Omg, I love your tiny unicorn scissors!
And the thred-drawer. So much mor convenient than the racks that catch dust. And such a pleasure to the eye 😍
Such skills and such elegance. Another lovely project!
This is just the cutest! What a great idea!
While watching this, I found myself thinking that it would be wonderful to see your rendition of a Alice in Wonderland “Queen of Hearts” dress.
YES!!!!!! I agree
That would look beautiful in black and white
The school counselor in my middle school wore doll dresses every day and I didn't appreciate it enough back then. Seeing that perfectly square shape of the neckline brought back memories!
Applause! Applause! I love it!
HOORAY!!! A new video, a new year, I’m a happy camper! Thank you Angela!
We all need a Barbie dress!
your barbie dresses are all fantastic, this is no exception. so lovely!
Morgan Donner is going to love this soooo much
This turned out so cute! I love the idea of doing life-size Barbie dresses 😃
Another excellent video Angela! The Barbie dress idea is great. Love it when you do these. Stay healthy and keep sewing! 🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful dress 👗👍👍
So enjoy your projects...this one turned out really well Angela.
Omggg!!!!!!! Yes I’ve missed the Barbie videos! I collect vintage Barbies and I have this dress on a Midge doll, and her hair matches your hairstyle perfectly!
Honestly I didnt think I'd like the large bold color blocking in full scale, but this is absolutely STUNNING.
How did I miss this!! Setting this a week late, but better than never. Love your work!
I love Barbie! Would you do an 80s Barbie gown?
The dress turned out so good! This series always makes me want to make me sized versions of the crazy mid-late 90s Barbie outfits I played with as a small child
One, I have thread drawer envy. Two, that's a great idea on gathering the skirt, I'll have to try that. Three, I want to give Persephone all the pets.
Love the Barbie series!!!

Very fun project. It turned out great.
You should do a 90s overalls pattern for sewing through the decades. Oo so fun!
Wow on the thread collection 💕👌🏾🌷
I love this dress so much. I want to make it myself but in different colors.
This dress is so cute!
I adore the barbie dress series
This is just adorable!
love this project
You should show these dresses at your county or state fair! They have handcrafts displays and give ribbons. I've seen cool displays, and think this would be so fun!
Why is Barbie not sponsoring you for these?! Incredible!
i love these videos so much. living a dream
Love the Barbie series. How about "After Five" with the hat and "Friday Nite Date" ... !!
What a fun dress 😲So bold! I love the white border.
It looks so interesting! Good job Angela!
Your skills and imagination knows no bounds! hats off to you!!
Adorable!! It is wonderful!
Love this! Like a 60s does Medieval ❤️💙
Fantastic job with this one! I would love to see you make a life sized version on 1997 Symphony in chiffon. The colours and style are incredible. 😍
So so cute! I would buy this!
This is an interesting idea, I collect some Barbies too. You pulled this full size version off beautifully. Additionally as someone who researches fashion doll history, this is the modern evolution of the fashion doll. Keep working this topic, it’s unique.
just an excellent dress. Did not think i would enjoy upscaling a dolls dress. But this looks awesome and you did an awesome job. Love love it. xx
You did such a great job!! I love it. It would also be fun to see a photo of you in a blonde wig to look more like Barbie.
I love the Barbie dress series! Do you have any plans for Barbie from the 80’s? As that was my childhood, those are the most familiar. I’d love to see Peaches and Cream Barbie, or I remember a red and white velvet one with hearts.
They used all red thread cause it was mass produced. They didn't have time to change the thread. Your attention to this detail is a nice touch.
This looks amazing! Obsessed with the recreation of the scale, like we don't notice it on the dolls but doing it life sized is so attention grabbing and fun
😯
That rickrack is too cool

Such a cute garment and fun process. Plus great tips all throughout your video, thank you! I love the Barbie copies. Hope you do more of them.
So cute. ❤️💙
This is cute. I use to dress barbies in deigner gowns.
what a cool idea!! and so pretty!
Loooove the Barbie dress remake series!!!
