Other people whilst embellishing [sews on a row of sequins]: Is this too much? Angela [under a mountain of lace, sequins and shiny things]: MORE!!! But honestly this is so pretty. And the sleeves! Immaculate. 👌👌♥️
Am I alone in finding it oddly satisfying when Angela is sewing several pieces after each other (such as the boning channels at the beginning of the video) on her professional machine and just.. whizzes through it? Soooo efficient..! 😍
I know it would never be... a thing....b u t when I was watching this I was just thinking what it would be like if Angela was able to rock up in 14th century court in this dress. Would they think it was as magical as I think it does? Would they assume she was a VERY rich young lady? Look at those sparkles!!
She would create a whole trend of paper thin metal rounds being sewn to fabric for sparkle! The sparkle would only last a season, but that's how often the very rich changed their gowns anyway. It would have probably lead to an entire fashion revolution :D
Nothing like these purple colors would have been available in the 14th Century, and the silver fabrics and trims would have astonished people as well. All of that machine-made lace and sequins would have been mind-boggling to people of the time. And then of course there's all the machine stitching, which they would marvel over as well. This dress would have been a showstopper, that's for sure.
The dress turned out beautifully! I love the way you interpreted the original design elements. It's different, but still looks like Rapunzel's dress and it was a lot of fun to watch the making-of process.
I learned so much even watching the redo of the bodice. I realized I worried about the fitting of it way beyond the point that you needed to check that. This is the first video I have seen of yours Angela! 💖🍁 The amount of love and care, different nail colours 😍and sequins and lace you put into your gown made it inspiring!!
This turned out GORGEOUS! Tbh I’m just impressed you made the bodice twice after the first didn’t fit because that’s happened to me a couple times and I’ve just~ never touched the project again~ /flail/
I’ve been re-watching some of your older videos to get my ‘Angela Clayton fix’. Only to wake up this morning to a brand new video. This is absolutely brilliant. I’ve seen those type sleeves before and wondered how they made. I actually gasped in horror when you had to remake the bodice. I’m a quilter and know that these things happen but it’s admirable that you stayed the course. If they ever make a live-action Rapunzel they couldn’t find a more gorgeous dress. My wedding dress took twelve yards of silk shantung and I still remember the insane cost. Can’t image the price now compared to twenty years ago.
This dress is absolutely stunning, you are one talented lady. ❤️ I love the fact you chose the Renaissance route for the dress, I never really agreed with the 18th or early 19th century take on Rapunzel's dress.
Thank you for getting straight to the work, there's so many costumers doing this who talk than more than half way through before they go through make the costume. So I appreciate seeing the process faster.
Your nail polish collection must be pretty amazing since your nail color always changes and looks interesting. It would be wonderful to see a collection video of your makeup and nail polish or any other beauty products as well as how you store them.
Oh Angela thank you for showing your whole process of making this dress. I love the silver trim. I don't think the gold would have just been to heavy. So happy mistake as far as 3m concerned. Your attention to detail and embellishment astound me in the best way. Im totally in awe of your talent. Please keep sharing your work. It is truly a gift that you give us.❤
This gown is in the top 3 best projects by Angela. Every aspect and design choice just works perfectly and fits her beautifully and I don't only mean physically, it looks like it fits her personality as well.
I don’t know what’s going on with all these costuming RUclipsrs doing historically accurate Disney characters, but I’m living for it! It’s a lovely dress you did a wonderful job with it.

I think this is one of your best videos/projects ever! Your love of embellishment and your style of historical garment interpretation is the perfect combination for a princess dress. As always, your personality shined in the voiceover too. Don't tell the other girls, but your dress is definitely my favorite of the collection. 🤫😉
I'm just so curious to know how many hours actually went into A. making the dress (which is phenomenal by the way!) and B. making the video (There must be soooo much footage to sort through and edit! ) Thank you so much for all of your time and effort making beautiful things for me to admire!
Also, those colours, are just, *sigh* the purple, lavender, pink, pastels plus all the silver lace and sequins, and omg. The whole thing is making my eyes drool
This is so stunning! The sleeves though i gasped out loud. They are the most gorgeous sleeves i've ever seen in my entire life. The beautiful details at the long wrist part and the paned puffs are just so pretty. Truly a work of art!
You know what I love about your designs? Even though the materials, techniques and trim choices may not be as historically accurate as with other Costubers, but honestly, considering that historically clothing was used to signal wealth, beauty and status and there were probably so many noble women who loved thrills and sparkle and sequence just as much as you do, I'm convinced that if they would've had the access to the materials we have today, they would've gotten all out on them as well! So, you might not make "historically accurate" costumes, but I'm convinced that in spirit you are historically accurate ♥
God, every time Angela post a video of yet another drop dead GORGEOUS dress I get inspired to make a fancy gown of my own, like that lace applique trim with all those sequin? A thousand chef kisses! Its to bad I'm hella broke right now lol ;w;
That dress is gorgeous! Your dedication to lace and sequins really made it shine! It looks like you nailed the style of the era you are channeling and still made a recognizably Rapunzel gown.
I am re-watching this after a horrible work day, therapy, and a real bad ptsd episode. Just yay! Angela being a cute crafty princess! Thank you for being a sparkle in a frequently dull world!
I really appreciate the candid way you talked about the cost of the silk! There are so many historical costume creators on RUclips that make incredibly beautiful and period accurate garments that I would love to make myself! But often the historically accurate fabrics are way out of my budget. It sometimes feels discouraging. It’s reassuring to have one of those amazing costume creators be open about cost concerns too!
How do you put so many lacey and glittery things on a dress and still make it look so nice and elegant? Everyday I see garments with less than half the embellishments you use that look tacky and way over the top. I really love this dress!
It all works, color, lace, fabrics, threads, embellishments, all of the detail. Just another one of Angela's beautiful designs, thank you so much for commentary. Your designs and interpretations have all been very successful and you are so young.
It’s so pretty! I definitely want to do my own take on some princess dresses in between raising a puppy and working full time but before I start summer classes
I just realized this is the only video other than the grenache portrait dress that ive seen where you didnt wait to do the sleeves as the very last step 🤣 Beautiful work
Angela, the way you use it, I don't think there's any such thing as too much embellishment! So delighted to see another wonderful project from you. Just wonderful!
Beautiful! I remember you showing the silk when you did the fabric haul (I think?) and wow it really turned out great. And I think all nobles would be bedazzled to heck if they had access to sequins in the 16th century. Sometimes inaccurate materials help give an accurate idea of how people saw themselves, and if the portraiture is any clue, these folks definitely saw some major bling.

I would have been shocked if she didn't use sequins. The dress looks beautiful with them though

Where are the sequins on her new McCalls costume patterns?
Sequins are actually historically accurate back to the 12th century
My husband suggests that your next project should be a Pascal costume for your dog 😆
Oh man, I think I need to sew sequins on something - I've clearly been missing out on #sparklelife
I would love to see you make a very proper historically accurate medieval dress, to then cover it with sequins! It would be glorious!
