Let’s just appreciate the studio for pumping out 24 episodes with little budget. Not only is that unheard of, it was honestly big brain because Season 2 is starting off with one of the best arcs in the series. God I love anime.
I’m holding out hope that they’re just saving the budget for the later parts of this arc, cause some of the moves they pulled off in the manga portion of this were insane. Compared to season 1, it’s a bit more polished, but it’s gonna be hard to judge the entire season based off a trailer barely even 3 minutes long. I’m just glad to have Blue Lock back.
Looking at the peak moments of the Nagi side story movie, I have faith they are going to cook. They even went back to old scenes that looked iffy and touched them up (Barou’s red lighting cross chops for example)
Just a FYI, they’ve barely showed anything past like 6 chapters into this arc in this trailer. They also haven’t shown any actual big moments so they’re still holding off on showing anything big until the season drops
keep ur expectations very low tho. there’s probably going to an episode or at this point a scene or two where they get an animator to make a good cut. But it ain’t looking good.

The one thing with blue log is I feel like they can’t really show a whole lot of the animation because well the animation is kind of like the main drive of the whole series. If they were to come out with like a two minute trailer of all the animations well obviously it’s gonna be from like, the crucial games I don’t think they really want to spoil a whole lot about that
Bro... Blue lock season 2 might hurt my feelings. I read the u-20 match and had some delusional expectations of the anime. Lord if they fuck this up, I will not be okay. Blue lock deserves Mappa level animation. I might be tweeking but the animation looks more fluid when the characters are talking than playing?! Also the lines the they use to look speed had more movement than the character!😭I'm so sorry for this long ass block of text but Blue lock doesn't deserve to go out like this...
it looks… better than season 1 part 2? from the few clips of action we got it certainly still has that sort of plain vibe that season 1 had but i can still recognize and appreciate the darker walls and seemingly fewer plain white backgrounds with slightly more fluid motions in background characters, still probably too early to tell as we didnt get much action and most of the best animation is probably still being saved for the blue lock 11 vs u20 game itself
Call it cope or whatever BUT I think this is a step up from Season 1. Not the biggest upgrade but also they did not show a single scene from the U20 arc (assuming to avoid spoilers). According to an interview for the blue lock u20 arc, Isagi's VA stated they worked really hard into making the art of the U20 so there's that. Also even though S1 animation was mediocre, that shouldn't shadow the fact that when they animate the important moments, they animate it well. Example being Isagi's last direct shot to win the game against Team V.
I feel like this is gonna have a solid number of good animation sequences, but aside from those it will have a 4/10 average. REALLY hope I'm wrong, but this ain't it.
