@butchcassidy6383 That's because Isreal is allowing aid to be sent to Palestinians. Is Hamas stealing the rations and starving the children? That wouldn't be surprising considering the attack in October that started the war. As I learned growing up, "Don't start anything and there won't be anything." Hamas poked a hornet nest. Now they cry about being victims. It doesn't work that way. The parents and children were given notice and ample time to evacuate. It's not Isreal's fault they didn't. The parents of the starving children are liable for making their children collateral damage. Your demands are unreasonable, and ruining what should be a happy experience for those who worked hard to reach graduation. Keep it up and you'll deplete your ranks. Salt Lake area high schools use the Huntsman Center for graduation ceremonies, too. Affecting the graduation ceremonies of those children will only sour their opinion on your cause. Pick a more appropriate time and place. Stop ruining what is suppose to be an enjoyable and memorable experience for others.

That's the point of a protest. When the US is supporting genocide which is purposely starving children, I would argue that's way worse than anything happening in the US

They are literally asking for a specific action from the school they are at: for the university not to invest its’ money in companies that support the Israeli military. They are not expecting something to magically happen- they are making a clear demand, which could make a real difference especially if other schools do the same, like other students all over the country are demanding.
Maybe it's not that the UofU president isn't standing with the protesters maybe it's he's standing with the majority of his students. I'd like to know where these protesters are getting their info.

What I don’t get is why students protest about Gaza and not about Ukraine, or Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Ethiopia, or any other war or conflict in the world with more casualties than in Gaza. As much as I am against the Gaza/Palestine conflict, I can’t get my head around this discriminatory behavior by protesting university students and lecturers. Why Gaza and not other conflicts? What is so special about Gaza and not the other wars? Why so massively pointed at Israel and not Russia for instance. Why disturbing university and college lessons, making other (Jewish) students feel unsafe on campus grounds, why illegally occupying and damaging university buildings? It looks simultaneously organized at multiple universities, somewhat like organized crime. Who is really behind this? Russia, China, Trump? I suspect the protesting students and lecturers to have an ulterior motive here. This is not an innocent protest against a war. It is a deliberate attempt to divert attention away from other wars, f.e. Ukraine. And it’s working.
